Chapter 133: Let's Dance
Chapter 133: Let's Dance
Silke's nearly formed Patronus Charm was interrupted!
The flickering light from the kerosene lamp illuminated her face, plunging her back into her deepest fear!
Silke stood frozen in place as the Straw Golem raised its scythe high, like a farmer in a wheat field, ready to harvest his crop with a sweeping motion!
"Protego!"
In the darkness, over a hundred wands waved in unison, forming an invisible barrier between Silke and the Golem before the scythe could strike!
"Crack!"
The scythe collided with Sherlock's modified Armor Charm, the immense force causing the protective layer, composed of hundreds of weakened barriers, to crack like a spider web!
It lifted the scythe again, and at that moment, Sherlock pulled the still-stunned Silke behind him.
Taking advantage of the moment when the Golem broke through the Armor Charm, Sherlock waved his wand once more. Under his control, the surrounding hundred wands also swung in unison.
He was like a conductor, each wave of his wand eliciting a response from the hundreds of wands below!
"Expecto Patronus!"
Countless silver threads illuminated the space!
The flickering light struggled against the deepest darkness, the threads intertwining to form a more powerful entity.
But it seemed as if the entire world was working to prevent its final form from completing!
The Straw Golem stopped its attempt to break through the Armor Charm and instead shook the old kerosene lamp, the rag-wrapped eyes glowing with a crimson light that seemed to overflow!
A hoarse, eerie voice, like a chorus of angry accusations, echoed through the air!
"You are not him! Sherlock! You are not him!!!"
But Sherlock's resolve did not waver. He controlled the two hundred and one wands, gathering the silver threads into a single, cohesive force!
"I am your father!"
A blinding white light cut through the darkness, and two hundred and one silver crows appeared suddenly in the vast underground Chamber of Secrets!
The flock circled in the air, illuminating the entire space!
Hope, joy, and all positive emotions spread under the wings of the crows!
The Straw Golem's old kerosene lamp went out inexplicably, and countless straws fell from its body, the tattered cloth beneath it visibly withering!
A shrill, piercing scream echoed through the enclosed space as the silver crows circled around it, the positive emotions causing it to vomit violently.
Straws continued to fall from its body, and it finally felt fear, unable to stay in this place any longer. It ran toward the door with its two crude wooden legs!
But Sherlock's summoned Patronus would not let it go so easily.
The crows formed a dense net in front of the wooden door, the silver glow now overwhelming the darkness in the room!
Its body was completely stripped of straw, leaving only a thin, tattered cloth hanging from the wooden frame.
"Stay back! Stupefy! Stupefy! Stupefy!"
It continued to scream, but it sounded more like a desperate wail!
Blocked, it quickly turned around, its crimson eyes flashing with madness as it charged toward Sherlock!
Sherlock's face remained cold as he continued to direct the flock to block its path.
But the Golem seemed to care little about the damage it was taking, crashing through the hundred crows and lunging at Sherlock!
Just as it mustered its last strength and raised its scythe, Silke, awakened by the overwhelming happiness and hope, quickly pulled a wooden box from her robe and precisely placed it on the Straw Golem!
Instantly, it was petrified, its countless screams echoing in the air.
"What's happening! What's going on!"
"No! No! I'm so scared! I'm so scared!"
"Don't come closer! Stupefy! Stupefy! Stupefy!"
"..."
Something was being sucked out of the Straw Golem by the wooden box, leaving only an empty wooden frame that silently fell to the ground.
After its broken body hit the floor, the silver crows flying in the underground Chamber of Secrets also dissipated.
The entire Chamber fell silent.
Sherlock felt something around his neck, but he paid it no mind.
Because he was very happy.
Perhaps it was because he had defeated the monster and caught the murderer, or perhaps it was for another reason.
Regardless, Sherlock had never felt so happy and content!
The surrounding lights flickered on, as the darkness that had enveloped the space under the Golem's control was now dispelled, illuminating the area.
Silke, panting, closed the wooden box that had fallen to the ground. She then turned her face toward Sherlock, her gaze hidden under her hood and ribbon, intensely focused on him.
"Who taught you to cast spells using this method?"
Sherlock was delighted by her question, even though there seemed to be little reason for it, yet he was genuinely happy.
"That's a great question, Silke, a very good question."
He was hopping around lightly, gathering the Wands scattered in mid-air back into his pouch.
"Although your question is excellent and I'm glad you asked, this is a family magic. So, no matter how close our relationship is, I can't teach it to you."
As he spoke, Sherlock was practically singing with joy, his mood was almost excessively good.
Silke clearly noticed this issue at this point.
"Releasing so many Patronus Charms at once, you can't handle the emotional feedback."
Sherlock was aware of his problem, but he wasn't particularly worried. After all, he was just happy, and that was enough.
"Let's celebrate, Silke. Let's dance. I might not know how, but you can teach me."
"I think you'd better close your mouth and let the emotions run their course."
Silke didn't accept his suggestion and said coldly.
But whether she accepted it or not, Sherlock pulled her by the arm, humming a tune, and started dancing without any formal training.
Silke initially tried to break free, but ultimately didn't struggle.
"I suggest you get some sleep."
She let herself be led in a circle by Sherlock, her face expressionless.
Sherlock's rational mind seemed to gain a slight advantage. He smiled happily and said, "Use a Stunning Spell on me, and take me back to Hogwarts."
Silke, with one hand being pulled by him, slid her other hand to draw her Wand and pointed it at him.
"Stupefy."
Sherlock deliberately didn't dodge, and the red spell hit him.
In the next moment, his happy smile froze on his face, and he fell forward, ending up leaning against Silke.
Silke supported Sherlock's body, standing still for a moment, as if thinking about something.
Then she slowly laid him on the ground.
She didn't immediately leave with Sherlock but turned him onto his back, staring at him with her unseen eyes.
After a long while, Silke seemed to make a decision. She removed her hood, revealing a face so exquisite it seemed impossible for a human to possess. She placed her hand on the knot of the black ribbon that covered her eyes.
Without hesitation, she untied the ribbon.
A pair of pale golden eyes, with what seemed like clock hands moving within them, were exposed to the air.
Those miraculous eyes perfectly complemented Silke's pale face, making her look like the most exquisite work of art in the world!
But in the Chamber of Secrets, only the unconscious Sherlock lay on the ground, with no one else to witness this breathtaking moment.
Silke used her eyes to gaze intensely at Sherlock's face.
The flickering light from the wall cast shadows, but her eyes reflected nothing, as if countless images were passing through them.
Silke saw many things.
She saw three-year-old Sherlock, squatting alone at his mother's funeral. She saw eleven-year-old Sherlock, receiving the admission letter from Hogwarts in an empty house. She saw him at fifteen, having his first girlfriend, only to be dumped within a month. She saw him at eighteen, applying for a job in Dumbledore's office after graduating from Hogwarts. She saw him at twenty-one, failing another job application, his magic experiments failing, and unexpectedly receiving an appointment letter upon returning from the hospital. She saw him in June of this year, learning a magic that seemed to control everything, pinning the Basilisk to the Gryffindor Common Room. She saw him this summer, traveling with his students in France.
Finally, she saw Sherlock lying on the ground.
Scarlet blood silently trickled down Silke's cheeks from her eyes.
She had seen all the significant moments of Sherlock's life but found nothing she was looking for.
Her tone was flat, yet seemed tinged with disappointment.
"You're not John."
She wiped the blood from her face and used the ribbon to cover her exquisite eyes again.
"Perhaps it's better this way. John is really gone."
She seemed to be talking to herself, or perhaps to someone else.
Finally, Silke stood up, put the wooden box containing the Straw Golem back into her pocket.
Using a Levitation Charm, she floated Sherlock's body in the air, grabbed his arm, and walked out of the Chamber of Secrets, retracing her steps through the secret passage.
Silke didn't notice that a dark golden circular locket had fallen from Sherlock's neck, an object that had never been seen on him before.
