Chapter 133: Helena's Decision
Chapter 133: Helena's Decision
Felix politely took his leave and departed.
During the afternoon class, he was unusually distracted.
"Please turn to page 147. Let's explore how ancient Wizards viewed the concept of 'existence.'"
"Professor, we covered this part last class", a young wizard raised his hand and said.
Felix looked surprised and glanced at his textbook. "You're right, and I apologize for the mistake. This just shows that professors are human too and can make errors..."
"Alright, let's turn to page 152. Today, we'll discuss Ancient Runes related to 'hope.'"
The Weasley Twins exchanged glances. Fred winked: 'Professor Hup actually made a mistake in class, that's rare.'
George mouthed: 'We're witnessing history.'
Fred pinched George's thigh to keep from laughing out loud.
After class, the twins gathered around Felix.
After answering a few questions, Fred asked curiously, "Professor, is there anything we can help with?"
"What?"
"Oh, Professor", George chuckled, "we think you might be having a small issue. You can definitely handle it, but maybe we can lend a hand."
Felix smiled, "Mr. Weasleys, I don't have any... well", he looked at the two and thoughtfully asked, "can you get me a Magic Camera?"
He knew that young wizards had a small, flea-market-like circle where they traded all sorts of interesting gadgets.
"Professor, a Muggle camera and a Developing Potion will work just as well", Fred said.
"Right", George explained, "first-year Creevey bought a Developing Potion from us, but he brought his own camera."
Felix thought for a moment and said, "That works."
A couple of days later, he received the camera, film, and Developing Potion.
He paid the remaining balance promptly.
Over the next week, Felix and Helena deliberately avoided mentioning that night's conflict when they chatted.
Felix shared interesting stories from the outside world, even including some secrets from his year of travels—
"Did you really get caught by Aurors in the American Magical Black Market?" she asked, surprised.
"Not exactly. I just happened to be there when they launched their operation. I was planning to blend in with the crowd and Apparate away—everyone was wearing masks, so it should have been easy."
"And then?" she asked, intrigued.
"Seven Aurors singled me out and started chasing me..." Felix said with a regretful expression. "I had to take them down."
It was the first time he used his Instant Kill Tactics in a real fight. To enhance his mental speed, he had taken a potion, which gave him a headache for a week.
"Pity..."
"Pity what?" Felix asked.
"Pity that I can't use magic, and I've lost most of my memories related to casting spells", she said regretfully. "Ghosts aren't complete; I only have vivid memories about my death..."
"What about the other memories?"
"They're either blurry or lack resonance, like watching someone else's life..." she explained.
At that moment, he finally made up his mind.
Felix said, "Helena, there's something I need to tell you."
“What is it?”
Felix hesitated for a moment before pulling out his camera. “Can I take a photo of you?”
Helena looked at him in surprise. She hesitated for a moment, then graciously agreed.
Felix took several photos of Helena alone, and finally one of the two of them together.
“It might take a day or two for the Developing Potion to work,” he said.
Felix watched as Helena’s smile brightened, and he felt a surge of emotion. She noticed the look on his face and gradually calmed down. “There’s something else you want to say, isn’t there? This is bothering you, Felix?”
“Do you know about the Room of Requirement?”
“Uh, oh…” She nervously ran her fingers through her hair. “I know about it. It’s the laboratory my mother built. I used to go there often when I was a child, but she didn’t like being disturbed. I always disobeyed her, though.”
“Have you been back there since… you know, after you became a ghost?”
“No, no,” she said dryly.
Felix understood. She might have been avoiding the place out of guilt or as a form of self-punishment.
He spoke softly, “I found something left behind by Rowena Ravenclaw inside. It might be about you.”
“Wh—What did you say!” She quickly flew over, her eyes fixed on him, as if trying to determine if he was playing a cruel joke.
Felix looked into her eyes calmly, with no hint of a smile.
Helena believed him.
She asked urgently, “What is it? What did she leave behind?” Her translucent, pearl-white body floated in the air, and she tried to grab Felix’s shoulders, but her hands passed right through.
A bone-chilling cold made Felix shiver involuntarily.
“It’s a memory,” he whispered.
…
For the next few days, Helena avoided him.
Felix understood. The feeling of anticipation and fear was not easy to bear. Who could guarantee that Rowena Ravenclaw’s memory was definitely left for Helena?
Could a ghost even be awakened by a memory?
If awakened, would they retain their sanity?
And if they retained their sanity, would they get the outcome they desired?
Even though the answers to these questions were likely “yes,” no one could be certain until the truth was revealed.
During this time, Felix developed seven photos. Under the effect of the Developing Potion and his magical adjustments, Helena appeared as a real person—beautiful, tall, and with a smile on her lips.
Finally, on a Saturday morning, she found Felix.
“Take me there,” she said calmly.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded solemnly, determined to accept whatever the outcome might be.
In front of the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor, Felix and Helena stood quietly.
A blue door slowly appeared. Helena looked at him, and Felix gripped the handle, pushing the door open.
Felix stepped back into the room, this time with Helena by his side—or perhaps he was the guest.
As Helena entered the Room of Requirement, the entire space came to life.
Subtle sounds emerged from all around them, and even without shifting his perspective, Felix could feel a vast surge of magic awakening.
The room’s furnishings disappeared, and the space expanded until it became a white, boundless world.
The sky and ground seemed to lose their boundaries, leaving only Felix and Helena in existence.
Not far from Helena, magic swirled and coalesced, forming the figure of a woman.
From the ethereal to the real, she emerged from the void.
After a thousand years, Rowena Ravenclaw opened her eyes.
