It took them a few seconds to process the severity of their situation. Their expressions shifted from blank stupor to shock, their faces contorting as they both wore exaggerated expressions of dismay.

What does that even mean?
Their opponent had summoned five disgusting tokens on their field and then informed them that they could only have a maximum of five cards on their field at any given time. This meant they were completely unable to play any cards! It wasn't just about summoning monsters; even setting magic or trap cards fell under the category of "playing a card."
Whether it was the magic card "Black Hole" for clearing the field, or "Whirlwind" and "Heavy Storm" for backrow removal, these cards needed to be played onto the field first before they could take effect.
With the restriction of only five cards on the field, it meant they couldn't summon monsters, activate spells, or set traps. All they could do was watch as these five obnoxious freaks snoozed, munched on snacks, and read newspapers on their field. Under the restrictions of Cosmic Shrinkage, they couldn't play any cards or summon monsters. Their only chance was to wait for their opponent to summon a monster and then use one of the tokens on their field to crash into it and destroy it.

If they could just crash into and destroy one of the tokens, they would have four tokens on their field, which would allow them to play at least one card.
