Chapter 1329: End It by Killing You
Chapter 1329: End It by Killing You
After discovering regular slashes were ineffective, Kuro immediately unleashed his Mystic Art. He’d initially assumed it would cleave his opponent’s head open, but to his shock, the attack was blocked.
While predicting the future, Katakuri couldn’t block Kuro’s high-speed slash, but this Luffy managed to evade the critical strike at the last moment. That alone was impressive enough.
However—
“The second strike? Where is it?”
As Kuro turned to deliver another slash, a sudden gust roared behind him. A jet-black fist lunged toward him before he could react. Frowning, he instinctively swung his blade.
“Gomu Gomu!!”
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The fist, nearly grazing his face, abruptly curved mid-air. Its arm seemed to vanish, then erupted with explosive booms in rapid succession. The attack reappeared beside Kuro’s cheek, aiming to strike.
Smack!
A hand clamped onto the fist, halting it. Kuro’s left hand blocked the blow as he muttered gloomily, “You want to punch my face?”
This wasn’t the first time—especially with this little brat. He seemed oddly fixated on targeting Kuro’s face.
Luffy grinned, flashing his teeth. “Yeah!”
As the words left his mouth, Kuro’s other cheek suddenly took a hit. The arm, snaking around like a serpent, reappeared from the opposite side. Radiating black light, it folded diagonally, delivering a ruthless blow.
Crash!
The immense force snapped Kuro’s head sideways. His grip on Luffy’s fist loosened instinctively, allowing Luffy to retreat. The arm slithered back like a flexible snake, retracting to Luffy’s shoulder.
On the battlefield, Lida sidestepped Dorry’s downward longsword slash. Seizing the moment, she stomped onto the blade body, her strength so overwhelming that Dorry struggled to lift his weapon.
“Tsk tsk tsk! You’ve got some power, girl. Even giants wouldn’t match this!” Dorry chuckled.
Lida ignored him, her gaze shifting backward with a disgruntled click of her tongue. “That Luffy’s so annoying. Why provoke Kuro for no reason?”
“Hmph. How amusing.”
Crocodile glanced back too, smirking. “He actually got slapped. This is priceless.”
“Luffy Officer!”
Boa Hancock kicked a pirate aside before turning to admire Luffy, clenching her fist secretly.
Finally! That detestable man got what he deserved!
“This time, I landed a hit!” Luffy grinned at Kuro, his fist raised.
Kuro’s head tilted upward, residual energy from the blow still crackling on his cheek. He remained motionless, yet an eerie chill emanated from him, making Luffy uneasy.
His five fingers tightened around the Yokai Blade, blood qi surging to form a crimson armor around his body. His face, tilted skyward, bore a cross-shaped mark between his brows. Tear-like streaks, crimson and crescent-shaped, traced from his eyes to his jawline.
“You damn.”
Six crimson ribbons materialized around Kuro’s shoulders, waist, and thighs. He lowered his head abruptly, his eyes glowing crimson. “How irritating! Wu Sheng Kong Sha!!”
The two ribbons from his thighs shot forward like lightning, racing toward Luffy.
Luffy’s eyes widened. He inhaled sharply, his body expanding into Fourth Gear. White feathered robes erupted from his shoulders, and his hair flared outward.
“Fourth Gear!”
Facing the incoming ribbons, Luffy crossed his arms, locking his gaze on them. “This time, I won’t falter! Gomu Gomu—”
The ribbons struck his arms, drawing blood, yet the supposedly unstoppable attack—capable of tearing through Kaido’s defense—halted.
No, not halted. The ribbons couldn’t advance further, repelled by the sheer tenacity and elasticity of Luffy’s arm. Even his formidable defense couldn’t withstand penetration, but without progress—
“Elasticity Car!”
Luffy roared, stretching his arms outward. The Wu Sheng Kong Sha ribbons, overwhelmed by elasticity, flew backward, repelled.
Kuro’s fingers snapped, tightening his grip. The ribbons surged again, striking Luffy’s body mid-air.
Boom!!
The air exploded. Luffy grunted, his body hurtling backward, carving a wispy gash across the ground, kicking up smoke and dust.
Yet from the haze, a figure emerged.
Luffy hovered in the air, Fourth Gear intact, two crimson marks still visible on his abdomen—wounds from Wu Sheng Kong Sha.
Its power was entirely neutralized by elasticity and tenacity.
“This time, I blocked!” Luffy declared, locking eyes with Kuro.
“Oh? Really?”
Kuro stared at the white smoke escaping Luffy’s mouth, his expression darkening. “You’ve truly impressed me. Trying to bluff me?”
Blocking was one thing, but how many lives had it cost? Only heaven knew.
If he hadn’t sensed Luffy’s life aura flickering earlier, Kuro might’ve believed his Wu Sheng Kong Sha had lost its edge, fooled by Luffy’s act.
“No bluff. I blocked!”
Luffy stood resolute. “Not like last time. This time, I’m awake. I’ll protect my crew, no matter the cost. I’ll become the Pirate King!”
Back in Wano Country, he’d fought Kuro like a disconnected shadow, dazed by every strike. Only when he briefly regained consciousness did he burn his Restoration strength, only to be dazed again.
But now—now he was awake, and he’d defeat this man!
“One Piece this, One Piece that. That’s all you ever say.”
Kuro gripped his Yokai Blade, narrowing his eyes. “Luffy, you’ll only realize your Pirate King dream in hell. If hell even has an ocean. No one can save you now. I promise.”
“Garp, your revered grandfather? He’s retired. I didn’t even let him fight. Dragon, your wanted criminal father? The government’s busy hunting him. He won’t save you either.”
“What about Shanks—the one who set you on this path?”
Kuro glanced at the execution platform, where chains pierced Shanks’ spine and shoulders. “Those chains are top-grade. He can’t move freely.”
“Enough talk! Defeating you is enough!”
Luffy raised his fist, roaring. “Defeating you ends everything!”
Kuro crouched low, assuming a charging stance, his breath sharp as arrows. “Funny. I was thinking the same. Killing you ends it all!”
Killing this accursed Luffy would restore Grand Line’s original peace!
As for ancient secrets, centuries of legacy, or hidden truths—he cared for none.
