Chapter 1322: A Quick Hello
Chapter 1322: A Quick Hello
"Shockwave?"
Marco's movement was blocked. Spreading his wings wide, he thrust his legs forward, his claw blazing with blue flames as it shattered through the shockwave barrier.
Zoro followed suit, dashing forward with several slashes that sliced through the barrier as well.
Such barriers weren't impenetrable to them.
"Ah, you're really annoying. Black Rope Heaven Flash!"
Lida's body blurred into afterimages, flashing several times around the plaza to evade their attacks.
"Don't think you can run!" Zoro clenched Shusui between his teeth, his dual blades and arm spinning in unison. "Three Sword Style!"
Hiss!
A massive slash erupted from his blades, carving deep gashes into the ground as if a tornado with hidden knives had ravaged the area.
The Navy soldiers scattered, dodging the slash before it reached them.
Lida had just reappeared on the plaza when the slash struck head-on.
"Essenceshockwave!"
Boom!!
The impact and slash collided, unleashing a shockwave that scattered outward. As the shockwave faded, Lida's fist was visible mid-punch.
"You're just not letting me throw any punches", she muttered, clearly annoyed.
"How could we let you keep using that move!" Zoro tightened his grip on Shusui, his malevolent grin widening. "I'll stop you!"
"I feel the same."
Marco flapped his wings in the air. "Dad's techniques weren't meant for this."
Meanwhile, on the Sunny, Usopp pulled his giant sling back taut, aiming at Lida. "Hey, white-haired girl! Don't use that technique again, or Usopp-sama will get angry!"
"You're wasting your breath! She's an Admiral candidate!"
Nami countered, her Clima-Tact swirling like a living thing. A white thundercloud burst forth, darkening as it crackled with lightning.
"Oh? Homies?"
Lida glanced toward the pirate ship, momentarily stunned. "Strange. After Big Mom's death, shouldn't Homies perish too?"
The thundercloud formed a face, shouting, "I'm not one of Big Mom's Homies anymore! She ate my soul! I'm Nami's Rebirth-specific Clima-Tact now! Right, Nami~"
"Whatever the case, stop her first! If she releases another shockwave, our allies won't be able to advance!" Nami ordered.
"Understood, Nami!" Zeus roared.
Robin crossed her arms, focusing intently on Lida. "I won't let you throw another punch either."
"Yohoho!"
Brook drew his slender sword, his voice grave. "Though ganging up on a young girl feels unfair, we need to ensure a safe landing. Forgive us, girl."
"Ahh..."
As the crew closed in, Lida lowered her hand, glancing at the approaching ships. Sighing, she said, "Fine. I was hoping to play a bit longer."
"Really? You're giving up?" Luffy grinned, showing his teeth. "Huh? So you're not so bad after all."
"Don't misunderstand, idiot."
Lida shot Luffy a disgusted look. "You'll see. Fighting me was your only chance. Sometimes, numbers don't guarantee victory. Experience the cruelty of the Grand Line!"
She turned sharply. "Kuro!!"
Her voice reached the execution platform. Kuro, who'd been juggling a floating stone, clenched it tightly. Raising his arm, half his face shadowed, his grin twisted into a gruesome smirk.
Shanks' pupils constricted. "What are you planning, Kuro?!"
"Coming all this way to my domain, as a host, I should greet them properly. Let them feel..."
Crack!
The stone shattered in his grip, his grin widening to grotesque proportions. "The cruelty of the Grand Line!"
Rumble—
Luffy, still aboard the ship, felt the sea surface tremble with a shockwave, nearly knocking him off balance. Several massive vortices spiraled across the water, swallowing the approaching ships whole. One by one, they were shredded into splinters.
"What the hell is this?!"
"No! Unacceptable!"
"Damn it! Keep pushing forward! Don't let these mere vortices stop us!"
Crew members shouted from the pirate ship, but half the fleet was already sinking into the Grand Line's depths.
"Tell me this is a joke!"
Usopp's legs trembled, his earlier bravery gone. "How is this even possible?!"
Nami clutched her mouth, eyes wide with disbelief, pupils shaking like quaking earth.
A blue vein bulged on Luffy's neck as he roared toward the platform. "Incense Burner! What are you doing?!"
What technique was this?!
How could anyone unleash something so terrifying?!
"As expected, the power is immense."
Klah adjusted his glasses below, smirking. "Mr. Kuro's control over sea areas is unparalleled."
But even Admirals could achieve this. During the Top War, Kuzan had held back. Otherwise, with his ability, he could've frozen the entire fleet in place as they approached.
Back then, the strategy was to lure Whitebeard, so they'd held off. Understandable.
But now, there was no need for restraint. The enemy had arrived.
"It seems not everyone can endure my hospitality."
Kuro's grin deepened. His palm suddenly flipped downward. "But there are still too many guests. My venue isn't that big. Let me greet them again, shall we?"
Shadows suddenly engulfed the sea surface, the sky darkening like a blackened void.
The Sunny crew looked up, their bodies freezing in place.
Usopp trembled, pointing skyward. "This... I remember this! Back then too, something massive fell from the sky!"
They recalled Shabondy, where they'd faced this before.
Now, it returned.
The spreading darkness contrasted sharply with the plaza's bright daylight.
The plaza remained sunny and serene, a human world.
But beyond the shore, the sea was pitch-black, a devil's hell. Light and dark split by an invisible line.
The shadow revealed itself.
A colossal continent descended from the sky!
"Unbelievable..."
William stared at the falling landmass, swallowing hard. "This is Kuro's strength?!"
