Chapter 1320: Air Shock!
Chapter 1320: Air Shock!
Watching the warships descend, Kuro narrowed his eyes slightly on the execution platform. "Lida, go stretch your legs a bit. There are too many pirates at sea."
"Okay."
Sitting there, Lida's body sprang into action, launching straight into midair. Her foot barely touched the platform before transforming into a wispy afterimage that vanished. This afterimage flashed several times between the air and the ground, instantly appearing in the plaza with her legs slightly bent as she landed.
At this moment, as water splashed from the Pirate Ship striking the sea surface, a puff of smoke rushed forward first.
"Luffy!"
The smoke transformed into Smoker's upper body. With a shout, Smoker gripped his Jutte, aiming its tip directly at Luffy on the ship, thrusting downward.
Luffy lifted his head, smiling at Smoker.
Clang! A foot blocked the Jutte's attack. The collision of Haki sent ripples of impact outward.
Sanji took a drag from the cigarette in his mouth, exhaling a puff of smoke. "Hey, don't lay a hand on our captain!"
Whoosh! The other foot he was standing on suddenly leapt, twisting beneath the Jutte's tip as his body spun. The leaping foot shot straight toward Smoker's face.
Bang! Smoker blocked with the Jutte in a reverse grip, then clicked his tongue. "My goal isn't you, demon chef."
Forced backward by this force, Smoker transformed into smoke, swirling around Sanji and rushing toward Luffy in a puff.
"In midair!" Sanji bent his right leg, a burst of flame erupting from his foot. He spun twice in the air, his leg whipping sideways into the smoke like a whip.
"That won't work!"
The blazing flame mixed directly with the smoke, filling it completely.
A thunderous boom echoed outward. A Jutte emerged from the smoke, kicked by the leg, and the smoke revealed Smoker's body.
"Fire and smoke are practically the same thing!" Sanji said calmly.
Bang!! With Haki-infused leg strength, he exerted a tremendous force, kicking the smoke cloud downward.
The smoke scattered across the plaza, concentrating in the central area to reform Smoker's body.
Smoker glared toward the ship, clicking his tongue. "Damn it!"
Luffy adjusted his straw hat, then grinned at Smoker. "Hehe, Smoker, don't get in my way!"
"I think the best way is for you to let me capture you quietly." Smoker gripped his Jutte, his voice low. "Otherwise, things will go beyond your imagination. You shouldn't have come, Luffy."
Now that they'd reached this final battle, Smoker's feelings were extremely complex. Since meeting Luffy from the start, he'd harbored complex feelings toward this man. Arabasta, Vegapunk Hazard... made Smoker realize this man wasn't someone he disliked. At times, his actions were even just.
So why couldn't he just stay a pirate on the Grand Line, chasing his dream of One Piece? Why come here!
"Because I have to save Red-Haired Shanks!" Luffy grinned. "This time, I'll definitely rescue him."
"Is that so?" Smoker looked at his smile, slightly taken aback, then shook his head. "Well, if you didn't come, you wouldn't be you. After all, you're just a pirate."
Smoker slammed his Jutte heavily into the ground, shouting, "I will definitely arrest you! Luffy, Monkey D. Luffy!"
"Make way, Smoker." As soon as he finished speaking, a voice came from behind.
Smoker turned to see Lida walking forward.
"You're going to fight?" Smoker frowned. "Is this the right time? White Whale."
"I'm White Butterfly!" A blue vein popped on Lida's forehead as she glared. "Don't call me that randomly, idiot!"
Since Kuro became Fleet Admiral, Lida had naturally become an Admiral candidate. With three Admirals, there were naturally three candidates. She filled the vacancy left by Kuro's promotion. This time, only one Admiral candidate had come—Kaku and Zoro were still at the front lines. But Smoker had always thought they should only be deployed in critical moments after the pirate land, especially since this woman was extremely important to Kuro.
Was it really acceptable to deploy her now?
"Hey, don't underestimate me!"
Seeming to notice the confusion in Smoker's eyes, Lida waved her hand, signaling him to move aside. She looked up at the people on the Pirate Ship, smirking.
"You really are persistent! I can't believe you actually came. Kuro actually said if you didn't come, his first goal would be to find Marshall D. Teach, and you could do as you pleased. But since you came, it's different now. Kuro has made many plans for you."
"Hehe!" Lida grinned. "I'm not scared at all!"
Lida shook her head. "You don't seem to understand the nature of this. Having plans made for you isn't a good thing for you, Luffy."
Luffy, Garp's grandson, Dragon's son.
Previously, Kuro treated him like a bothersome fly, giving him a headache. But this time was different. This time, Kuro didn't find them annoying but instead made a series of plans for them.
Being annoying doesn't mean anything—it just means they're a nuisance. Otherwise, he would have killed them long ago. Only when he seriously devises plans and treats them with seriousness does it mean he's truly decided to kill them, like now.
"Kuro asked me to stretch my legs, so I'll show you." Lida sighed, her body gradually growing taller. The overalls stretched with elasticity, tightening as her abdomen became exposed. Her lower body transformed from knee-length pants into shorts, gradually forming a maidenly figure.
She clenched her right fist, pulling it leftward until it aligned with her head, and declared solemnly, "This is the strength of a serious Kuro, pirates!"
A white ring of light appeared around her fist, distorting the air around it.
"That stance..." Among the approaching Whitebeard Pirates, Marco saw the white-haired maiden's posture, his pupils contracting. "Hey, come on, don't be kidding!"
Her fist struck the air before her. Crack! It seemed to hit something, producing a crisp ringing sound. The air cracked like glass, forming countless fractures. The cracks rapidly spread outward, as if a transparent mirror in front of Lida had suddenly shattered, scattering shards on the ground.
"Air Shock!"
Rumbling. The chaotic waves of the Grand Line formed massive waves crashing, the shockwave sensation spreading throughout the Grand Line.
Boom!!!
