Chapter 132: The Great Trick
Chapter 132: The Great Trick
"You said you'd buy me a new wand..." Ron looked at Fred and George, his eyes filled with both hope and worry. After the initial joy, he now feared this might be another one of their jokes.
Indeed, Fred and George had a history of such pranks, and this wasn't the first time something like this had happened in their family.
"Of course, my dear brother," Fred patted his shoulder with a smile. "Are you doubting your own brother?"
George, standing beside him, also put on a heartbroken expression.
"Ron, you've hurt our feelings," he said.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean it," Ron stammered, his face turning red.
"I just... I'm afraid, no, not afraid. I trust you, really, I..." Ron's voice trailed off as he struggled to explain.
"It's okay, Ron, don't be nervous," Kyle reassured him with a smile. "They're just joking. Don't worry, I promise you'll get your new wand today."
Ron was indeed a bit too nervous, unlike his usual self... Well, maybe not that different.
Compared to Fred and George, Kyle seemed more trustworthy in Ron's eyes.
"Thank you, Kyle," Ron said, his face visibly relaxing.
Although he was still tense, it wasn't as exaggerated as before, and he appeared much calmer.
But Fred and George weren't pleased.
"Why are you thanking Kyle?"
"You still don't trust us, huh?"
...
Ron's tension returned.
"No, no, thank you too," he added hastily.
Fred and George finally nodded in satisfaction.
The four of them left the chaotic Leaky Cauldron and headed towards Diagon Alley.
At the entrance, Kyle deliberately stayed at the back, naturally kicking his leg out to move a trash can aside.
"Thud!" The trash can didn't budge an inch, despite the dull sound.
"Hmm?"
Kyle turned around and examined the trash can, only to discover that it had been fixed to the ground with a Fixing Charm.
No wonder he couldn't kick it.
"It must be old Tom's doing..." Kyle's face darkened.
It was too much. Last year, he had trusted him, but behind his back, he secretly fixed the trash can to the ground.
Is trust between people so fragile?
Kyle became more furious the more he thought about it. Taking advantage of the other three's distraction, he quickly took out his wand and pointed it at the trash can.
"Expand!"
The trash can visibly grew taller right before their eyes.
The change wasn't significant, just enough to match the thickness of a brick.
Kyle put away his wand and nonchalantly caught up with the Wesleys ahead.
George asked curiously, "What were you doing back there? Why were you so slow?"
"Nothing, I just dropped a Sickle by accident," Kyle replied casually.
"Did you find it?"
"Yeah, I found it."
George nodded, not giving it much thought.
The group had a clear destination in mind and headed straight towards Ollivander's.
Ron walked at the front, with the twins and Kyle slightly behind, whispering to each other.
"What if we suddenly left now?" Fred asked in a low voice.
"Little Ron would break down," George stifled a laugh. "And we'd get a scolding from Mum."
"And..." Kyle added, "The thirty Galleons you just received would be gone too."
"Well, forget it then." Fred shrugged. "Consider it for a Galleon."
Ron, who was walking ahead, seemed to hear their conversation and quickly turned back, only relaxing when he saw the three of them still behind him.
"Hey, do you have any plans?"
As Ron turned back, George whispered, "Little Ron may not be the brightest, but he wouldn't ask that question out of the blue."
Fred nodded in agreement, "Yeah, he's probably thinking about new wands now, where would he pay attention to whether Ollivander's Shop is dirty or not."
"If he doesn't ask, we can remind him."
Kyle stroked his chin and whispered something to the two of them.
After listening, Fred frowned, asking doubtfully, "Will this work?"
"It should be fine..." Kyle shrugged, "If not, forget it. Anyway, I'm just curious, and I don't need to know for sure."
"Tsk, your curiosity is expensive." George pouted, "Seven Sickles."

Kyle just smiled and didn't say anything.
Ollivander's Shop wasn't far from the entrance to Diagon Alley; basically, it was just around the corner.
Looking at the small, dilapidated shop, Ron's eyes lit up even more.
However, just as he was about to go inside, Fred took a step forward and walked past him.
He kept his head down, as if deep in thought.
"Careful, Fred!" Ron struggled to remind him, "You're going the wrong way, that's not the door..."
"Bang!"
Before Ron could finish his sentence, Fred "heavily" bumped into the display window.
"Oh, damn, why is this shop so dirty?"
Fred patted the dust off his clothes, looking annoyed, "If I had known, I wouldn't have worn my robe today. This is new."
George also went to help.
The two of them patted for a while, but the robe still looked very dirty, covered in a layer of dust.
"Fred, you're too careless." George exclaimed dramatically, "Mom will definitely scold you when she sees this."
"There's no other way, it's too dirty here. I feel like the dust here has a history of several hundred years."
Kyle walked over and said seriously, "But I think you can ask Ollivander for compensation.
Do you remember my roommate, Mikel? Last year, he dirtied his new robe at the pet shop, and the clerk there gave him an extra bag of pet food."
"Too bad... we're not buying wands."
Fred looked a bit regretful, "Otherwise, I would definitely ask Ollivander for an extra Wand Care Kit."
"Yeah, what a pity." George shook his head, "The Care Kit costs seven Sickles."
Fred sighed, "Never mind, you go in with Little Ron first."
"Okay..."
George nodded and then opened the door to Ollivander's Shop and went in.
"Little Ron, come over here quickly."
Ron seemed to be deep in thought, but when he heard George's voice, he hurried over.
However, Kyle noticed that as he entered the door, he deliberately rubbed against the door frame.
"So, did he believe it?"
As soon as the two of them left, Fred eagerly asked.
"I think he did."
Kyle took out his wand and aimed it at Fred's robe.
"Clean it up."
In an instant, all the dust disappeared.
