Chapter 1318: Hakuguo?
Chapter 1318: Hakuguo?
The Grand Line churned violently!
Waves crashed against the shore as if driven by some unseen force.
Crash!
Boom!
With each thunderous impact, the Marines' nerves tightened as they braced themselves.
Smoker transformed into a swirling column of smoke, soaring toward the plaza's center to land beside Tina. The smoke spiraled, keeping his lower body in mist form while his upper body solidified, his gaze fixed on the Grand Line.
As the sea surged again, a towering wave rose in the distance. Through the crashing water, Smoker spotted the faint outlines of warships approaching.
"They're here!" he barked.
The silhouettes grew clearer - two columns of pirate ships bearing countless familiar flags.
A Marine Vice Admiral instinctively raised his telescope, cold sweat dripping down his face. "It's Luffy's Grand Fleet! Every pirate flag that vanished from the New World has returned!"
Though Dressrosa's Grand Fleet had been eliminated by Kuro, Luffy had rescued enslaved pirates in the Kolf Kingdom to form this new armada.
"Deploy the PX-Z units!" Sengoku roared, gripping his massive axe. "Fortify the coastline! Don't let them land!"
Behind him, rows of white mechanical cyborgs marched forward, forming an unbroken line at the shore.
"Open fire! Prepare the cannons!"
On the cliffs, Togeko commanded Vice Admirals to man the heavy artillery.
"Wait - there's more!"
Marines on watch swallowed hard. "It's... it's the Whitebeard and Shanks flags!"
Two more familiar banners appeared behind the Grand Fleet.
"Marco's flagship!" a Marine gasped.
"Ben Beckman's!" another shouted.
"Tch." Sengoku tightened his grip on his axe. "Just as Big Brother predicted. They've all come."
Though he'd missed the Wano Country battle, his brother had warned him during their meal. Marco's crew had suffered heavy losses there - this was their chance for revenge.
"They're just remnants of the Four Emperors! Even the Four Emperors aren't invincible! Kuro Big Brother defeated many of them. Hold the line! PX-Z, destroy them!"
The Pacifista units raised their arms, energy lasers charging in their mouths. The mechanical army glowed like stars waiting to unleash hell.
"Even without mass mobilization, our combat power remains", Kuro murmured, watching from the execution platform with a faint smile. "Shanks, see this?"
Though he'd requested only Pacifista units rather than regular Marines, the five hundred mechanical soldiers deployed here could raze entire nations.
"Still can't find Luffy? Is he hiding or trying to sneak in with a coated membrane?" Sengoku scanned the sea through his telescope, but Luffy's ship remained elusive.
As pirate ships closed in, Sengoku lowered his scope and shouted, "PX-Z, fire!"
"Open fire!"
Vice Admirals triggered the heavy artillery. But just as they fired...
A sudden gust swept across the sea, rippling toward Marine Headquarters.
Normal winds were expected, but when the entire sea began shifting...
Boom!
The shockwave erupted moments after the wind, splitting the ocean surface with a massive gash that raced toward the shore.
The explosion tore through the coastline, blasting Pacifista units and artillery into the air. Shockwaves ripped through Marine uniforms.
"What the hell?!" Tina demanded.
"Giants!" a lookout screamed. "A huge ship full of giants!"
Tina snatched the telescope. Through the smoke, she saw a monstrous vessel in the fleet's center. Two giants stood at the bow - one wielding a sword, the other an axe, both grinning wildly as they charged their next attack.
"Those giants..." she muttered. Ordinary giants couldn't unleash such power.
A Marine Vice Admiral among the giants shouted, "It's Dorry and Brook!"
The name sent shockwaves through the ranks. The legendary giants who'd vanished for years had returned.
On the execution platform, Lida swung his legs, lowering his telescope. "Wow, Kuro! Who are Dorry and Brook?"
Kuro bit his cigar. "Blue Demon and Crimson Demon - former captains of the Elbaf Giant Warrior Pirates. That attack was 'Hakuguo' - as powerful as Charlotte Big Mom's."
"Reorganize the defense! Use the cannons!"
Marines scrambled to reposition artillery. But as a Vice Admiral adjusted his cannon...
"Iron Body!"
Clang!
Spears rained down from a pirate ship, bouncing harmlessly off his hardened body.
"Unforgivable!"
The attackers - winged, tattooed figures riding flying discs - prepared another assault.
