Chapter 1316: You're About to Be Brought Down!
Chapter 1316: You're About to Be Brought Down!
Impel Down, Impel Down.
At the entrance, a group of solemn-faced prison guards were already waiting. Ahead of them, a Warship Fleet composed of several Capital Ships was approaching.
Soon, the Capital Ships docked at the port. As the prison guards saluted, a group of Navy personnel disembarked. Soldiers in uniform with white shield insignias on their chests stood rigidly at the port. From behind them, three Navy officers approached.
Leading the group was a man in a black dress uniform, wearing a hooded cloak and glasses, exuding calm intelligence. Beside him were a bearded Navy officer, a mustachioed Navy officer, and another with a helmet, his hair split into two wisps.
Domino, the warden in charge of the reception, stiffened. She recognized them all: "Black Wolf" Klah, "Colossal Shield" Kas, "Big Gun" Wilbur, and Vice Admiral Aokiji—renowned Navy officers.
Saluting, Domino said, "Glad you've arrived. I'm Domino, the warden assigned to greet you."
"Appreciate the effort. Take us there", Klah nodded gravely. "Sixth level."
They'd been ordered to retrieve Shanks from the sixth level.
Four Vice Admirals for a former Four Emperors—quite a spectacle.
Klah and his team were Devil Fruit users, while Aokiji wasn't. This made handling Seastone restraints easier.
Under Domino's guidance, they soon reached the sixth level.
Walking through the dim corridor, Wilbur glanced at the quiet cells. "This level's quieter than I expected. I thought it'd be chaotic."
"It used to be", Domino replied. "But after Golden Lion Fleet Admiral's visit, they quieted slightly. Then Deputy Warden Magellan came personally, so now the sixth level is very calm."
"I see. That's Kuro Mr.'s doing", Wilbur nodded. "Truly admirable."
He completely ignored Magellan's contribution.
Turning several corners, they arrived at Shanks' cell.
Standing before the cell, they saw Shanks leaning against the wall, head bowed. Aokiji scoffed, "Hey, Shanks. You're being executed today."
Hearing this, Shanks lifted his head, revealing sharp eyes, and smiled at the group. "Has the day finally come?"
"Open it."
At Aokiji's command, Domino nervously unlocked the cell. Aokiji entered, first unfastening the thick chain connected to the wall around Shanks' waist, then the leg chains. He replaced them with a simpler pair of shackles.
"You can stand, right, Shanks?" Aokiji said, biting his cigar as he looked down at the man.
Without a word, Shanks shifted his legs, bent slightly, and rose effortlessly despite his missing arms.
"Then let's go."
Red-Haired Shanks smiled faintly, stepping out of the cell as if strolling casually.
"Tch. Acts like he's leading the parade. Even now", Klah muttered, squinting in irritation.
Still, as a former Four Emperors, they had to maintain appearances. They let him proceed.
As they walked the dark corridor, sudden clinking sounds echoed.
With a sharp rattling, a familiar laughter erupted from a nearby cell.
"Kshhhkshhkshh! Shanks! You're being executed?!"
The cell brightened, revealing a figure sprawled in an X-shape.
Even in the sixth level, the man wore sunglasses. His laughter made the chains tremble.
Klah adjusted his glasses. "Donquixote Doflamingo."
"Kshhhkshhkshh! Kuro's subordinate, huh!" Doflamingo grinned, holding a newspaper. The headline screamed:
"Navy to Execute Shanks!"
"You're finally acting, huh! Where's Kuro? I have much to say to him! Or is he afraid I'll expose his schemes? Kshhhkshhkshh! You're starting the End War, right!"
Doflamingo sat up, eyes behind sunglasses piercing Klah. His eerie smile widened.
Klah's heart tightened. "What do you know?"
"Kshhhkshhkshh! I know far too much!"
The loose chains allowed slight movement. He waved the newspaper at Klah. "Through newspapers, I know everything! I know what you're planning!"
Rustling violently, he thrashed excitedly, chains clattering wildly. "Hey, release me! I can help! You're starting a war—let me assist! How about it? I know many secrets! I can bring down the—"
"Fishman Karate!"
Bang!
Klah's finger shot out, unleashing Fishman Karate. The strike slammed into Doflamingo's forehead, sending him crashing to the ground.
"We don't need your help. Stay in your cell, Donquixote Doflamingo."
Klah lowered his finger, leading Shanks away.
"Kshhhkshhkshh..."
Doflamingo's eerie laughter echoed. Blood trickled from his forehead, staining his face, dripping down to his ear-to-ear grin.
"Hahahahaha!!"
His laughter lingered in the empty corridor.
"It's coming... it's coming... you high-and-mighty ones are nearing your end! How hopeful! I can't wait to see your faces when you're dragged down!!"
...
The morning on the Grand Line was refreshingly crisp. Seabirds soared through the sky with their distinctive cries, while a chill lingered in the air.
A vast plaza stretched below, designed to hold massive crowds. Though faint residual energy hinted at past activity, the plaza was eerily empty. This space, capable of hosting tens or even hundreds of thousands of Navy personnel, now held only scattered figures.
Cloaked Navy officers armed with bizarre, varied weapons stood in clusters. Though their expressions differed, all radiated a formidable aura.
In one corner, a pink-haired Navy officer and a golden-haired comrade with a peculiar eyepatch adjusted his saber, glancing around nervously. "Hey, Koby... Everyone here is extremely renowned. At least Vice Admirals like us."
"I know", the pink-haired officer replied grimly. "Golden Lion Fleet Admiral summoned only elite Navy. Here, Vice Admirals serve as soldiers. Squad leaders are Vice Admirals."
These two were current Navy Vice Admirals: Koby, inheritor of Garp's "Iron Fist" legacy, and his aide, Vice Admiral Helmeppo.
