Chapter 1312: Let the Spider Clan Expand!
Chapter 1312: Let the Spider Clan Expand!
While Kuro was finalizing the major battle on one side, Kas, Wilbur, and Klah—who were escorting David on the Grand Line—were holding a meeting of their own.
The combined fleet of Capital Ships and Dressrosa vessels was navigating the Grand Line. On the Throne flagship of Dressrosa, a group of people were gathered around a round table, plotting something.
"Hey, I'm the King of the West Blue—what am I doing in the New World?" Luo Wei said helplessly to the group.
Around this round table, all members of the Crimson Spider Clan were present.
Number One: Klah.
Number Two: David.
Number Three: Kas.
Number Four: Wilbur.
Number Five: Luo Wei.
And Number Six: Kuzan.
"Also, why are you here? Didn't you rejoin as an Admiral?" Luo Wei turned to Kuzan.
Kuzan scratched his head. "Ah, well, there's no helping it. Even rejoining the Admirals requires approval. The higher-ups gave me an earful, then ordered me to escort the King home. Anyway, after delivering so many people, the last one turned out to be David, huh?"
Kuzan no longer wore his vagabond rags. Instead, he had changed into his old white Navy Vest and the familiar Justicehooded cloak.
They weren't escorting just one person with this many people—they were all being sent together. David was simply the last to be delivered.
"Don't forget me! Me too!" Luo Wei rolled his eyes. "I'm a King too. Don't act like I don't exist."
"Please", Kuzan shrugged. "You're an intelligence guy. You'd suit the role of an assassin better than a King."
Within the Crimson Spider Clan, their roles were clearly defined.
Klah handled overall coordination, predicting Kuro's movements and relaying Kuro's news.
David handled execution.
Kas was responsible for training the Kingdom soldiers, while Wilbur taught the spirit of Justice.
Luo Wei handled intelligence—though he wasn't exactly how he handled assassinations.
As for Kuzan, he was the combat power specialist.
A small group with clearly defined roles.
"So, why did we suddenly call this meeting?" Kuzan asked.
Kuro was about to engage in a major battle. They shouldn't have time for meetings during this period.
"It was my initiative", Kas said gravely. "Precisely because we won't have time later, I called this meeting. Kuro's speech when he took office as Fleet Admiral deeply moved me. Comrades, we should expand our scale!"
"Expand?"
Luo Wei blinked. "Wait, aren't we already big enough? Even during this total war period, further expansion would be difficult."
He had just finished absorbing the Flower Country, and everything was finally settling down. Starting another campaign would definitely strain their manpower.
"Not your scale—we're talking about expanding the Crimson Spider Clan itself!"
Kas suddenly became passionate, almost intoxicated. He closed his eyes, gesturing wildly. "Ah, how impactful Kuro's words were! They rang deafeningly in my ears. I believe Kuro is right—we should fight in every corner of the world, holding onto our ideals and acting on them. But we shouldn't bear this burden alone. We must expand our scale and let all those who share this ideal contribute their strength!"
"What do you mean?" Luo Wei narrowed his eyes.
He had a feeling this would be something shocking.
"Expand the Crimson Spider Clan!"
Kas stood up, his voice rising. "Let those who share our Goal join us! Let them fight, fight in every corner of the world! As long as they're willing, we'll provide them with full support! Spiders shouldn't be solitary creatures—they should spread. We are the 'mother body,' supporting the 'sub-bodies' in their free operations!"
He spread his arms wide, echoing Kuro's words. "No matter where we come from, we all share the same Goal, the same dream in our hearts. We transcend nations, for wherever we go becomes our nation!"
He pointed dramatically at David. "Today, we are Dressrosa people!"
Then he turned to Luo Wei. "Tomorrow, we are Insect Country people!"
"But we have only one identity: those who devote ourselves to the ideal nation. We Uphold. We fight. Our identities are one and the same! For the same Goal, to defeat the feudal capitalist nations—forward! Fight!!"
Kas clenched his fist, his eyes blazing with fiery determination. "So we must expand our scale! Following the Straw Hat Principles, we must take another step forward!"
Kuzan nodded. "Indeed. Now that Kuro has become Fleet Admiral and I've rejoined as an Admiral, we've already accomplished the fifth step."
Back when they decided to follow Kuro's Straw Hat Principles, Kuzan hadn't even joined yet. But they had already completed the first three steps in unison, then the fourth step later. Many strong individuals had been drawn to their ideals, joining their ranks. Now that the fifth step was accomplished, the sixth step was next.
Exercising their innate Justice nature.
According to the Straw Hat Principles, the World Government represented only the feudal capitalist nobility. They would represent the masses, opposing them directly, completely eliminating the feudal capitalist nobility represented by the World Government and the world nobles!
"Does the sixth step mean we'll go public?" Luo Wei frowned. "Wouldn't that disrupt Kuro's plans?"
Would they rebel so soon after he became Fleet Admiral?
"Of course not."
Kas's expression turned serious. "We're only expanding the Crimson Spider Clan. No one will know where these new members come from. They'll reinforce every nation that needs our ideals, even those nations where the Revolutionary Army is already at war. Let's accelerate the world's journey toward equality and happiness!"
"That's not a bad idea."
Wilbur mused. "We already have suitable candidates—pirates or others who affirm our ideals and are willing to serve under us, not staying in one place!"
"Exactly! It's time to proceed with the sixth step!"
Kas clenched his fist. "Comrades, let us strive together for the golden age of our ideals!"
"OH!!"
David and Wilbur stood up, raising their fists with Kas. In their eyes, flames flickered—or perhaps electric sparks.
Klah, Kuzan, and Luo Wei exchanged glances. They were too reserved to join in such an embarrassing display.
The young Kuzan might have done this, but now he lacked that passion.
"Ah, well", Kuzan scratched his head. "I have a feeling the future will be quite something."
This was the first time he'd heard of such a model—expanding the Crimson Spider Clan to involve others in this great cause. It sounded like a collective effort. He had a premonition that once this decision was made, the world would become much more lively.
