Chapter 1311: The Commander's Challenge
Chapter 1311: The Commander’s Challenge
Finally, Su Yu said, “As for why other AIs can’t be used, but Blue Whale is an exception, I don’t know the reason either.
However, I am willing to contribute the AI Blue Whale to the Hub for free, to assist in our collective efforts.”
The audience immediately erupted into a flurry of discussion. Planetary Councilors began talking to their neighbors, and outside the conference hall, the debate raged even more intensely. In every star sector and city of the Hub, almost every resident was discussing this shocking news.
The few Stellar Beings did not intervene, allowing the discussions to continue without interruption.
After more than ten minutes, the Acting Speaker cleared his throat gently. “Everyone, I think we’ve had enough discussion.”
He glanced at the other Stellar Beings. “Is there anyone who would like to share their thoughts?”
“I’ll speak,” Commander Darando interjected.
Darando did not look at the Acting Speaker, Lemo, but instead fixed his gaze on Su Yu.
He spoke slowly, “Councilor Su Yu, first, I thank you for your willingness to contribute the AI to the Hub. However, I have a few concerns I’d like to address.”
The murmurs in the audience gradually died down as everyone turned their attention to Darando, eager to hear the Commander’s perspective.
Darando continued, “My concerns are twofold. The first is about your identity.
Su Yu, you’ve never been to the Vega Hub before, and you’re not a member of the Silver Saint Federation, correct?”
“That’s correct,” Su Yu replied.
“Then, is it possible,” Darando speculated, “that you’re not a native of the Milky Way, but rather a member of the rebel organization?”
“???” Su Yu was taken aback. He hadn’t expected Darando to think this way.
“!!!” The Planetary Councilors in the audience and the many residents watching the live broadcast were equally stunned. They hadn’t anticipated that Darando would drop such a bomb, suggesting that Su Yu might be from the rebel organization.
Before anyone could recover from their shock, Darando continued, “The second concern is about the Level 4 AI in your possession. Is it possible that this AI also comes from the rebel organization?...”
Darando then recounted the deductions he and Triman Greed had made the previous night.
Everyone listened intently as Darando laid out his reasoning.
As they listened, the initial shock began to give way to a sense that the Commander’s points were quite logical.
At first, everyone was stunned, as no one had ever considered the possibility that Su Yu might be from the rebel organization.
Their minds were still rooted in the assumption that Su Yu was an ally, not an enemy.
But after hearing Darando’s arguments, they realized it wasn’t impossible! In fact, if Su Yu were from the rebel organization, everything would make perfect sense, with no contradictions!
“That’s right! It’s because Su Yu is from the rebel organization that his strength suddenly jumped from eighth rank to Planetary level!”
“The old Su Yu must have been deliberately hiding his true strength!”
“No wonder Su Yu has a Level 4 AI. The rebel organization must have high-level AIs, and this one could very well be one of their creations!”
In every corner of the Hub, the residents were buzzing with discussion.
Everything seemed to fit together so perfectly.
Could it be that Su Yu really is from the rebel organization?!
...
Su Yu was also drenched in cold sweat.
He hadn’t anticipated that Darando would think he was from the rebel organization.
He hadn’t expected the Commander’s thinking to be so unconventional, leading him to such a conclusion.
However...
To be fair...
Despite his shock, Su Yu took a moment to reflect and realized that the Commander’s logic chain was indeed consistent and without contradiction.
If he truly came from the rebel organization, everything seems to make sense.
"Hmm..." He stroked his chin. "Commander, following your line of thought... I can't really argue with that."
Acting Speaker Lemo, Bank President Andrew Soren, Guild Master Gladden, and Lucia Glastasar, all four at the Stellar level, looked at Dalandor in shock.
Isn't this just your alternate account?
Could it be that they were wrong, and Su Yu isn't Dalandor's alternate account after all?
The one who felt the greatest blow was the stone man, Retodz, who was in the audience.
Seeing the Commander confirm that Su Yu came from the rebel organization, it almost made him lose his composure.
He had always believed that Su Yu was the Commander's alternate account, never doubting it for a moment in the past year and a half.
But what's going on here?
Does the Commander not want this alternate account anymore? Or has his guess been wrong all along, and Su Yu is not the Commander's alternate account?
Retodz's projection collapsed on the ground, becoming blurry, distorted, and flickering, with the risk of disconnecting entirely.
This was something he truly couldn't accept.
...
Now, all eyes in the meeting hall and throughout the entire hub were on Su Yu.
The way people looked at Su Yu was gradually changing.
Before, they saw him as a suddenly rising, shining star. Now, they saw him as a heinous criminal.
Su Yu was sweating profusely.
He racked his brain, trying to figure out how to get out of this predicament and how to prove that he wasn't from the rebel organization.
"Commander..." After a moment, Su Yu carefully chose his words. "While I can't think of a way to refute it right now, I really am not from the rebel organization! Also, if you say I'm a member of the rebel organization, you have no evidence, right?"
"That's correct, I have no evidence," Dalandor nodded, his tone serious. "It was just my subjective guess. While the logic fits, I have no concrete evidence."
"No evidence?" The senators in the audience started discussing:
"Without evidence, you can't convict someone."
"This is just the Commander's guess. The real situation might be different."
"But since this guess makes sense, it doesn't rule out the possibility that Senator Su Yu is from the rebel organization, right?"
"Right, it can't be ruled out."
"In this situation, can Su Yu still be a senator?"
"He should... still be able to, right? After all, it hasn't been confirmed. Only if it's confirmed can his senatorial status be revoked."
...
Dalandor raised his hand to quiet everyone down.
Then, he solemnly addressed the crowd, "Whether Senator Su Yu is from the rebel organization or not is still uncertain, and I have no evidence to present.
But what I want to say is, we can't rule out this possibility, nor can we rule out the possibility that the Level 4 AI was created by the rebel organization.
To take a step back..."
He looked at Su Yu and continued, "Even if Senator Su Yu is not from the rebel organization, we still can't completely rule out the possibility that the Level 4 AI came from the rebel organization, correct?"
"Hmm... That's true, it can't be ruled out," Su Yu stroked his chin, agreeing.
Earlier, when he said, "I don't know why only the Blue Whale can use it," it also couldn't rule out the possibility that the AI Blue Whale was a fake planted by the rebel organization.
