Chapter 131: Ron's Wand
Chapter 131: Ron's Wand
Due to an unexpected situation at the Ministry, Chris and Diana didn't return for lunch, so Kyle had his meal at the Weasley residence.
Mrs. Weasley, who hadn't seen Kyle in over half a month, was delighted and piled seven or eight sausages onto his plate, even insisting he have three bowls of rice.
After the meal, Kyle felt so full he didn't want to move.
"Want to go goblin hunting together?" Fred enthusiastically invited him after lunch.
"Now that we're proper Quidditch Beaters, we'll definitely beat you."
"Next time," Kyle shook his head and took out a yellow envelope from his pocket, saying, "I'm going to Diagon Alley later to buy some things for the new term."
"Oh, right, you haven't bought anything yet!"
Mrs. Weasley, who was busy in the kitchen, came over and said, "Wait a moment, dear. We can accompany you to Diagon Alley."
"No need, Mrs. Weasley," Kyle said with a smile. "The supplies needed for second and first years are quite similar. I just need to buy some parchment and ink, and I'll be back soon."
"But..." Mrs. Weasley hesitated.
"It's okay, Mom," Fred said. "We can go with him."
George added, "Yes, Mom, don't worry."
"Alright then," Mrs. Weasley thought for a moment and didn't say anything further. However, she glanced at the twins and instructed, "Come back quickly after buying the things, and don't take Kyle to those messy places."
"We won't go to those places," Fred and George replied.
"To be honest, you're our mother, but you don't understand us at all."
...
While the twins were talking to Mrs. Weasley, Kyle suddenly noticed Ron sitting next to them... and the wand he was holding in his hand.
He had seen this wand at Charlie's place last term, and it was in poor condition, with even the unicorn hair exposed.
Kyle suddenly remembered something and raised his head, saying, "Mrs. Weasley, you misunderstood Fred and George."
Upon hearing Kyle's words, the twins nodded repeatedly, and behind their backs, they silently gave him a thumbs-up.
However, Kyle acted as if he hadn't seen their gesture and continued, "They want to go to Diagon Alley with me to buy a new wand for Ron."
"Hmm... hmm?"
Fred and George were halfway through nodding when they suddenly froze, turning around in disbelief to look at Kyle.
Ron, sitting beside them, was equally incredulous.
Merlin, Fred and George... were going to buy him a new wand?
Ron couldn't believe what he was hearing, but then a wave of elation washed over him.
He desperately wanted a new wand, and these past few days, even in his dreams, he was selecting wands at Ollivander's.
There was no way around it. Although the family now had money, Mrs. Weasley had refused his request to buy a wand, claiming that the Galleons belonged to the twins and she was merely holding them in trust.
He never expected...
Ron's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at his two brothers with deep emotion, as if he might cry the next moment.
Fred and George were still processing what was happening, their expressions slightly dazed.
When did they say they wanted to buy a new wand for Ron? Weren't they just wasting Galleons? He was only in his first year, and using Charlie's old wand would suffice.
However, out of trust in Kyle, the twins hesitated for a moment but didn't refute him.
"Yes... yes, Mom.
Fred gnashed his teeth and said, "We were actually thinking of buying Ron a new wand."
George took a deep breath and forced a dry smile. "We didn't tell you because we were afraid you'd object."
"Dear, why would I object?" Mrs. Weasley's eyes also glistened with moisture as she stepped forward and gently hugged Fred and George.
"I'm glad you feel that way. George is right; I don't understand you well enough."
"I'm Fred, Mom," George blushed and said awkwardly, "You've mistaken us again."
"Sorry, Fred, dear." Mrs. Weasley released them and said with a smile, "Oh, just wait a moment."
As she spoke, she walked upstairs.
During this time, the twins immediately looked at Kael, their eyes full of confusion.
Kael remained calm and shook his head slightly, signaling them to be patient.
Soon, Mrs. Weasley returned with a bag in her hand.
"Here's your Galleon."
She handed the bag to the nearest George and said, "I've always been worried that you're too young and might spend it recklessly if you suddenly had so many Galleons. But now it seems you've grown up.
Take it; you can't buy a wand without it."
George eagerly opened the bag, which contained about thirty gleaming Galleons.
The twins' eyes flashed with disappointment.
They had thought all the Galleons were inside, but there were only thirty.
Mrs. Weasley guessed his thoughts and frowned again. "What, is it too little? Forget it, then."
After saying this, she pretended to take the bag away.
George took a step back and shook his head repeatedly, saying, "Of course not, Mom. How could we think it's too little?"
Seemingly afraid that Mrs. Weasley would regret it, George walked straight to the fireplace, holding the bag in one hand and grabbing a handful of Floo Powder with the other.
"We're running out of time; we have to go."
After saying this, he threw the Floo Powder into the fireplace and walked in without looking back.
"Diagon Alley!"
In the blink of an eye, George disappeared.
Fred and Kael, seeing this, immediately followed.
...
When Kael opened his eyes again, he had already arrived at the fireplace of the Leaky Cauldron.
Fred and George stood on either side of him, speaking rapidly:
"When did we say we wanted to buy Ron a wand!"
"We need an explanation, Kael."
One wand costs seven Galleons, which is enough for them to make seven Tongue Swelling Toffees.
"Don't be excited. Aren't you curious why Olivander's Shop is so dirty..."
Kael leaned closer to the twins and whispered something.
After listening, the twins' eyes gradually became interested, but there was still a hint of confusion.
Fred hesitated and said, "But a wand costs seven Galleons... Isn't this too wasteful?"
"It's okay; I'll pay for it." Kael smiled and said, "Consider it Ron's acceptance gift..."
"Puff..."
As they were talking, a plump figure rolled out of the fireplace.
Ron, without bothering to dust himself off, immediately stood up and looked around, searching for something.
Only after spotting Kael and the twins in the distance did he heave a sigh of relief and ran over with quick steps.
