Chapter 131: Don't Worry, I'll Use the Obliviate!
Chapter 131: Don't Worry, I'll Use the Obliviate!
Ivan's lips twitched. He had thought Mrs. Muen was buying the potions because they were outstanding, but it turned out to be something else entirely.
Mrs. Muen's acting skills were impressive; even he hadn't seen through it.
However, Ivan didn't know that Mrs. Muen had originally planned to buy just one or two potions to get by, but after learning they were made by a master potion brewer, she decided to buy in bulk.
This move by the Department of Enforcement also gave Ivan a glimpse into the dark side of the Ministry of Magic.
No wonder, as the official institution of the magical world, it couldn't stand up to the later rise of the Death Eaters, and even the new Minister fell under the Imperius Curse, becoming Voldemort's puppet.
From this purchase, Ivan could see the signs.
The Ministry of Magic was doomed to fall!
But Ivan didn't want to deal with such troublesome matters. He turned to Aisia and said,
"By the way, Mom, what should we do about the Ministry's order?"
"Haven't you already thought of a solution?" Aisia asked, puzzled. She had assumed Ivan had an idea when he proposed the shop renovation plan.
Otherwise, why would he keep thinking about the Ministry's large order?
The two fell silent, staring at the deposit on the table, both dumbfounded.
Ivan's head ached. When signing the contract, he had promised to deliver everything in two weeks.
With just the two of them, it would be impossible to complete everything in ten days, even if they worked themselves to death!
"Maybe we could set up a Magic Factory?" Ivan suddenly had an idea and suggested.
"Magic Factory?" Aisia asked, puzzled.
"Like your Magic Kitchen", Ivan explained, becoming more and more convinced. He began to explain the techniques Muggles used to mass-produce items.
As for the source of the information, Ivan simply said he had heard it from some young wizards from Muggle families while at Hogwarts.
As Ivan delved deeper into his explanation, Aisia's eyes grew brighter. Having created the Magic Kitchen, she understood exactly what Ivan was talking about.
While the creation of magical items was a meticulous process, especially when inscribing runes using magic, the other tedious steps could be completed using magical machinery.
"Where can I find the things you mentioned? I'll go get one to study", Aisia asked, excited.
"Usually, Muggles have such machines in their glove factories. We could also buy one from the Muggle market", Ivan rubbed his chin. They only needed ten rings, which wouldn't take long to make, but the Spell-Proof Gloves required mass production.
But Ivan quickly realized there was a problem.
Get a machine to study? How?
Seeing Aisia about to Apparate, Ivan quickly reminded her,
"Muggles don't accept Galleons!"
"Don't worry, if it doesn't work out, I'll use the Obliviate!" Aisia added, waving her Wand and vanishing with the spell.
Obliviate?
Ivan helplessly rubbed his forehead. The machine wasn't expensive, and it wasn't a secret. They could exchange a few Galleons for pounds and buy it from the market.
Why couldn't she follow the proper procedure?
After Aisia left, Ivan looked at the bag on the table. He opened it and found a large space inside, likely due to the Undetectable Extension Charm. The deposit was about a thousand Galleons.
But setting up a Magic Factory is quite costly, and various materials require a significant amount of Galleons. Therefore, the profit left over is likely to be minimal, especially considering that a portion of it belongs to the Weasley Twins.
Ivan couldn't help but smile at this thought. He believed that if George and Fred knew how well their Extendable Ears and Quick-Answer Quills were selling, they would be over the moon.
"Whistle~" Ivan touched his right thumb and index finger together and blew a whistle in front of his mouth.
A moment later, a snow-white owl flew down from upstairs, its curved beak holding a quill, and its claws gripping an envelope.
"Good job, Maca!" Ivan took the quill and envelope from Maca's beak and claws, then playfully petted the little creature. He felt he was developing a talent for being a beast trainer.
"Co-co~" Maca flapped its wings and flew to Ivan's shoulder, gently pecking his cheek to show affection.
Opening the envelope, Ivan picked up the quill and quickly wrote a reply, detailing the Ministry of Magic's large-scale purchase of Extendable Ears and Quick-Answer Quills, and instructing them to prepare the order within two weeks and send it over.
After finishing the reply, Ivan took out fifty Galleons from the down payment. Without this money, George and Fred might not even be able to afford the materials to produce a large number of Extendable Ears and Quick-Answer Quills.
To avoid interception along the way, Ivan didn't dare to send too much at once.
Once everything was ready, Ivan stuffed all the items into the package, using the same one that George and Fred had sent before, which had a weight-reducing charm on it, making it perfect for reuse.
"I'll have to trouble you again, Maca." Ivan tied the package to Maca's leg.
The snow-white owl "co-co"ed in response, then flapped its wings and flew into the sky, gradually becoming a white dot in Ivan's line of sight.
Not long after, the space in the center of the hall distorted, and Aisia appeared in front of Ivan, returning empty-handed.
"Mom, where are the things?" Ivan asked curiously.
"There were too many devices there, and I didn't know which one to take." Aisia blushed, having previously thought that Muggle machines were all the same.
Ivan rolled his eyes; he had expected as much.
However, Aisia didn't give him a chance to complain. She waved her Wand, closed the shop door, and then used Apparition to take Ivan away from the magic shop, not forgetting to take the down payment on the table.
A few hours later, at The Burrow, in George and Fred's bedroom.
A short, plump middle-aged Witch stood with her hands on her hips, angrily pointing at a pile of joke magic items on the floor and roaring.
"No wonder your History of Magic grades are so poor. You've been spending all day on these pranks. If you don't pass your Owls Exam in fifth year, I won't be surprised at all!"
George and Fred stood trembling under the spray of saliva, feeling a deep sense of frustration. They should have been more careful and waited until they returned to school to continue their research.
They never expected their mother to find everything during her cleaning.
George and Fred exchanged a glance, their faces showing an expression even worse than tears.
