Chapter 130: Solo Action [35]
Chapter 130: Solo Action [35]
"Leave Mountain Toad Hanzo to me."
Fengye, gazing at the sand table map, made his request without hesitation.
In his opinion, Mountain Toad Hanzo was much easier to deal with than the Tsuchikage. The Tsuchikage could fly, but he couldn't, and if he didn't instantly kill him and the doppelganger technique was used to dodge, the Tsuchikage could fly out of reach, turning it into a long-range battle.
The long-range effects of Dust Release were naturally formidable, and while he could reverse time and instantly recover even if he was hit by it, Fengye had no desire to experience the sensation of being disintegrated at a molecular level.
"Oh? You've chosen to deal with Hanzo?"
Orochimaru looked at Fengye with some surprise and said, "There's something I should tell you. Hanzo is known in the ninja world as a demi-god. That man's strength is no less than the Tsuchikage's, and his cautious and meticulous nature makes him even more difficult to deal with."
While the Tsuchikage, a possessor of a bloodline limit, was powerful, Orochimaru believed Hanzo was the more formidable opponent. This was because Hanzo was dubbed a demi-god by the ninja world due to the fact that almost no one had ever seen him injured!
Hanzo was a master of virtually every type of ninjutsu and taijutsu. If he judged that he couldn't win, he would decisively use the Instantaneous Body Technique to escape without the slightest hesitation. Even when he had the upper hand, he wouldn't rashly press the attack but would instead choose the safest strategy. He was a ninja who never put himself in dangerous situations.
Orochimaru, having faced Hanzo more than once, was well aware of how tricky he could be.
"I know," Fengye nodded slightly, remaining calm. "But I've already taken care of one of the Five Kage, and I'm not particularly interested in the others. I'd rather test the strength of this so-called demi-god of the ninja world."
"So you prefer challenging stronger opponents... Mmm, it seems your confidence has grown even more after defeating the Third Raikage."
Orochimaru spread his hands and said, "If you're going to deal with Hanzo, be very cautious of his deadly poisons. Since you've learned my Cell Activation technique, even if you're hit by Hanzo's poison, it won't take effect immediately. If you realize you've been poisoned, retreat immediately. That cautious man won't pursue you too far."
Orochimaru paused for a moment before continuing, "However, I still suggest you go after the Tsuchikage instead. Your acceleration ability will cause the poison to act faster once it takes effect, and Hanzo's abilities do have a restraining effect on you."
"Don't worry," Fengye smiled. "I've studied medical ninjutsu with Tsunade-sama for a period of time. Even if I'm poisoned, I can immediately seal it off and prevent it from spreading easily."
Hearing Fengye's words, Orochimaru nodded slightly.
If he had indeed learned medical ninjutsu from Tsunade, then he would indeed have some ability to deal with it. With Fengye's speed, he should be able to face Hanzo without encountering any danger, and he could retreat if he was poisoned.
Orochimaru wasn't particularly concerned about Fengye also becoming Tsunade's disciple. As one of the Sannin, they had once faced life and death together, and since she didn't have any ambitions for the Hokage position, there was very little conflict between them. It might even be a good thing for Fengye to represent Tsunade's will as well.
"Is Danzo-sama not here?"
Fengye withdrew his gaze from the sand table and scanned the interior of the tent before asking Orochimaru.
Orochimaru looked outside the tent and said, "Danzo has gone to the Rain Country to find Hanzo. He's trying to negotiate, but he should be back by now."
As Orochimaru finished speaking, Danzo's figure, leaning on a cane, walked into the tent. His gaze first landed on Fengye, freezing slightly before he continued inside and said, "The negotiation failed."
"Hanzo is very wary of us now. He's convinced that if we win, the Rain Country will inevitably be invaded, and the Rain Ninjas won't be able to withstand Konoha's might."
Orochimaru smiled sinisterly and said, "Since Hanzo and the Rain Ninjas refuse to stay out of this, we have no choice but to include them in the scope of this war.
Though it was indeed tricky to deal with the joint forces of Iwagakure and Amegakure, with Feng Ye's arrival at the battlefield, even if they had to face both sides simultaneously, Orochimaru was still confident of victory.
Danzo nodded.
Then he turned to Feng Ye and said, "You've had a tough battle against the Kumo ninjas."
His tone and demeanor were perfectly normal, showing no signs of anything amiss.
Feng Ye walked over to a nearby chair and sat down, pouring himself a cup of tea. He casually replied, "The same goes for you, Danzo-sama."
From the time he had transmigrated to this world, he had always been cautious and worried that displaying his exceptional talent would attract Danzo's attention. But now, even when facing Danzo directly, Feng Ye remained calm and collected, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of emotion.
It had been seven years.
It seemed like a very short moment, but from the time he arrived in this world, the actual time he had spent here was already close to seven years.
Seven years of arduous cultivation had brought him to where he was now.
Orochimaru turned to Danzo and briefly outlined the next course of action, including Feng Ye's task to deal with the Amegakure ninjas and Hanzo.
Danzo was also slightly surprised by Feng Ye's choice but soon agreed that it would be for the better. After all, Iwagakure had far more ninjas than Amegakure, and Feng Ye's presence at the front lines against the Tsuchikage was crucial. For the overall command, it would have to be either him or Orochimaru.
That would leave the other to face Hanzo alone.
With Feng Ye taking on the Amegakure ninjas, he would only need to lead a single unit, and even with Feng Ye's youth, his formidable strength would still qualify him as a squad captain.
"Including the ninjas who came to support us from the village recently, we currently have 57 jonin, 5,600 chunin, and 2,000 genin..."
Danzo looked at Feng Ye and said, "The total number of Amegakure ninjas is less than 2,000, and among them, only a small number are elite. Most of their ninjas are not qualified to hold the positions of 'jonin' and 'chunin.' With a thousand-man squad under your command, are you confident that you can hold off the Amegakure ninjas?"
Feng Ye sat there, sipping his tea.
After slowly putting down his cup, he stood up and calmly said, "There's no need for that much trouble. Let's keep all our forces here to deal with Iwagakure. As for Amegakure, I alone am enough."
Aside from Hanzo, the Salamander, the other Amegakure ninjas posed no threat to him at all. There was no point in sending two thousand or even twenty thousand ninjas.
Asking him to lead a thousand ninjas would only burden him with the task of commanding and strategizing, as well as bearing the responsibility for their casualties.
As long as Hanzo was dealt with, everything would be over.
"Alone?"
Danzo frowned slightly. "Don't joke about such matters."
Orochimaru also looked at him with surprise. "Are you planning to execute a 'beheading mission'? I know you're confident in your abilities, but Hanzo is not that easy to assassinate. That guy, even when sleeping, will have a large number of subordinates guarding him."
"I think it's worth a try," Feng Ye said calmly.
Both Danzo and Orochimaru had their doubts, as they were quite familiar with Hanzo and knew that he was a difficult target for assassination. If the attempt failed, there was a risk of being surrounded, and even with Feng Ye's capabilities, escape might not be guaranteed.
However, Feng Ye was adamant about acting alone, and in the end, they could not refute his decision.
Half a day later.
Feng Ye left the Konoha camp alone and headed toward the Rain Country based on the intelligence he had received about the Amegakure ninjas.
