Chapter 130: Ravenclaw's Chamber
Chapter 130: Ravenclaw’s Chamber
Felix continued pondering the issue well into the next day.
He had just returned from the Room of Requirement, where he had tried various methods to reconcile the two unrelated memories, but all attempts ended in failure.
Felix then shifted his focus to studying the Room of Requirement itself. On the eighth floor, opposite the tapestry of "Troll-Battering Barnabas", he paced back and forth, silently repeating his various needs.
He had previously explored this mysterious room, but always with his own needs in mind. Except for the truly outlandish requests, most regular and logically sound demands within the magical world were generally met.
So, he decided to approach the Room of Requirement from someone else's perspective.
Starting with simple thoughts like "hiding things", he experimented with various possibilities, even involving the professors.
For example—
"I want to enter Severus Snape’s hiding place..."
Naturally, there was no response.
It seemed that even as a student, Professor Snape didn’t have a habit of carrying around contraband. Felix found this rather amusing.
Felix derived pleasure from this "game"—it gave him a sense of temporal dislocation, as if he were conversing with younger acquaintances. He continued to try, this time focusing on Hogwarts’ Headmaster—
"Albus Dumbledore’s hiding place."
"Albus Dumbledore’s magic practice room."
"Albus Dumbledore’s luxurious bedroom."
"Albus Dumbledore’s luxurious bathroom."
Felix was about to move on to the next topic when a door suddenly appeared on the wall, standing out starkly.
The double doors looked quite ornate, adorned with various golden carvings and patterns.
"What did I just say?" He was clearly taken aback, but then pushed the door open and walked in.
Inside was a lavish bathroom, filled with all sorts of intricate and luxurious chamber pots.
Felix silently backed out.
He was hesitating whether to continue when a noise came from nearby. In his line of sight, Professor Trelawney appeared from around the corner, dragging a box.
The box made a "clinking" sound as glass objects inside collided, audible in the corridor.
Professor Trelawney wasn’t wearing her usual mysterious accessories but instead had on a crumpled nightgown, her hair disheveled and messy, looking rather unkempt.
She also noticed Felix.
Professor Trelawney’s expression quickly shifted from confusion to fear, but she tried to remain calm, saying, "Pleased to meet you here, Felix. Fate has brought us together this morning."
"So you didn’t even bother to dress up, showing such little respect for fate’s arrangements?" Felix pointed to her attire.
Professor Trelawney angrily retorted, "Do not speak of fate lightly!"
"Alright, besides fate bringing us together, do you have any other plans?" His gaze fell on the box, which contained about seven or eight sherry bottles.
"Oh! I, I think I can conveniently hide... store some things I don’t need."
The two fell silent.
Felix sensed her strong desire to escape, and he didn’t want to linger either, but he had one more question to ask.
"Do you know about the Room of Requirement?"
"What? Oh, yes." She said absentmindedly, "I use it to store things. To be honest, my office is quite small, and my salary hasn’t increased in years..."
Felix quickly bid her farewell.
After leaving the eighth floor, Felix ran to the Great Hall for breakfast and then made his way to the Ancient Runes Class classroom, timing it just right.
On his way, his thoughts drifted back and forth, one moment pondering memory magic, the next thinking about the Room of Requirement.
"Hey, be careful, Miss Lovegood."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure walking straight toward him, and he quickly moved to the side.
It was Luna Lovegood, holding a piece of parchment and reading it intently. Felix noticed that the parchment was upside down in her hands.
"It's you, Professor Hup", she looked up, her eyes wide. "I'm glad to see you."
"Me too, Miss Lovegood", Felix replied, somewhat helplessly. This was the second time today he had heard that phrase from someone he knew.
She waved the parchment in her hand. "I'm looking at the leaderboard, and I won't bump into anyone, don't worry", she said.
Felix was momentarily speechless. He had been about to remind her, but now he shifted the topic. "Is there anything interesting?"
"Indeed, it is..." Luna showed him the parchment, still upside down, and chattered excitedly, "From this angle, here", her finger traced a curve on the paper, "if you connect the names of Ravenclaw, doesn't it look like an eagle?"
"Hmm..." Felix examined it closely for half a minute before saying, "It does, indeed."
Luna beamed with delight.
'What a unique thinker, fitting for a Ravenclaw,' Felix thought as he watched her walk away.
...
Standing at the podium, looking at the fourth-year young wizards and preparing to start the class, a sudden spark of inspiration hit him.
He had always had a question: Who created the Room of Requirement?
Even he couldn't see through the entire structure of the room. Was it something an ordinary wizard could do? But Hogwarts had existed for a thousand years and had produced many outstanding wizards, so he couldn't rule out the possibility.
So, he had set aside this suspicion.
However, at this moment, he suddenly focused on one person: Rowena Ravenclaw.
Could she have created the Room of Requirement?
Thinking about it from this angle, many things became clear—
The magic supply for the Room of Requirement was directly linked to Hogwarts, and Rowena Ravenclaw, as one of the founders, naturally had the authority to do so;
The Room of Requirement had no fixed form and would continually change to meet the needs of those who sought it, which undoubtedly involved powerful memory magic and transformation magic;
From the manuscripts Felix had seen, Rowena Ravenclaw indeed met these criteria.
Moreover, over the millennia, of all the chambers rumored to exist, only those of Slytherin and Ravenclaw were the most famous. Now that Slytherin's Chamber had been found, what about Ravenclaw's Chamber?
The young wizards below saw Professor Hup with a smile, seemingly ready to start the class, but he suddenly fell silent.
"Professor Hup?" a young wizard asked, mustering up the courage.
"Hmm?" Felix snapped back to reality, suppressing his doubts. He addressed the young wizards, "Now, let's begin today's lesson..."
"Please turn to page 147 in your books."
