Chapter 13: Fierce Battle
March 1, 2017
Rolling on the ground, desperately seeking recommendations!

As Lu Haikong watched the fight, he didn't idle around. Taking advantage of the situation before Zhang San could call for reinforcements, he quickly hid from the battle between Zhang San and Yue'er, moving tables and chairs from the Assembly Hall to block the entrance.
Surprisingly, despite the simplicity of Lu Haikong's plan, it proved quite effective.
The foolishly tall bandit leader, Zhang San, soon found himself overwhelmed by Yue'er's relentless assault, just as she had anticipated. He began to call for help.
"Hey, someone, catch the assassin!" Zhang San's shout was not as loud as his previous cries, and it was even quieter than the noise he made while fighting Yue'er. Yet, this time, several bandits immediately rushed towards the Assembly Hall.
Fortunately, Lu Haikong was prepared. He had blocked the entrance with tables and chairs, and now he braced himself against them with his axe, preventing the bandits from entering.
Initially, the bandits struggled to get in, pushing against the door for a while without success. Lu Haikong felt triumphant, thinking, "A bunch of fools with an IQ below 50 dare to challenge me? They must be dreaming!"
But Lu Haikong's triumph was short-lived. The bandits outside were indeed dim-witted, unable to coordinate and push the door together without a leader. However, Zhang San seemed to be a bit smarter. Realizing that his men couldn't get in due to Lu Haikong's efforts, he retreated and then charged towards Lu Haikong, slashing at him with his long sword.
The strike was incredibly fast, faster than Lu Haikong's thoughts. He didn't even have time to react and dodge, but fortunately, his body reacted instinctively faster than his mind.
Lu Haikong raised his giant axe, drawing a smooth arc in the air, and executed the 'Forceful Strike' skill he had obtained but never used.
"Ding!"
The sound of metal clashing with stone rang out as Lu Haikong's axe accurately struck Zhang San's long sword. The axe, weighing at least a dozen pounds, clashed with the sword, which looked like it weighed only a few pounds, and the impact was evenly matched.
Lu Haikong involuntarily took a few steps back, bumping into a table. Zhang San, on the other hand, quickly regained his balance and even took a step forward, ready to strike again and finish off Lu Haikong.
Fortunately, Yue'er was not one to be trifled with. Her longsword swiftly blocked Zhang San's attack.
"Hey, hey, hey! You dare to divide your attention during our fight? Do you even consider me a worthy opponent?" Yue'er's voice carried a hint of madness, deeper and more hoarse than usual, yet still captivating. While the foolish bandit didn't grasp the significance of her words, Lu Haikong clearly understood that Yue'er was upset and angry.
Indeed, in the ensuing battle, Yue'er's fighting style became even more frenzied, leaving Zhang San no time to bother with Lu Haikong.
On the other side, Lu Haikong, somewhat familiar with Yue'er's combat style, still found it hard to watch. After witnessing Zhang San's initial attack, he turned away and resumed his task.
However, the door, previously sealed tight, had been partially pushed open during the scuffle. When Lu Haikong realized this, a dim-witted bandit had already poked half his body through the opening. Instinctively, Lu Haikong swung his axe, splitting the foolish bandit in two.
The scene before him was gory, and Lu HaiKong, who was completely unprepared, felt a surge of complex emotions as he witnessed the brain matter splatter. Fortunately, the corpse of the mountain bandit was quickly refreshed, leaving behind only a few copper coins. This was crucial, as it gave Lu HaiKong the impression that he was merely killing a monster. The gore he had just witnessed eased the various emotions that flooded him, such as regret, fear, and nausea.
However, before he could process these lingering emotions, a bandit burst through the door, opening a breach. More bandits began pouring in from behind.
In this critical moment, Lu HaiKong had no time to dwell on his fears or disgust. Wielding his axe, he stepped forward and blocked the breach, determined to hold his ground against the onslaught. He struck down any bandit who dared to approach, but they kept coming in droves.
These bandits were generally weaker than Lu HaiKong, and their intelligence was abysmal. They mindlessly charged forward, attacking Lu HaiKong, but their assaults lacked cohesion and were easily countered.
Their one advantage was their sheer numbers. Lu HaiKong had already slain over a dozen, but more kept rushing in, showing no signs of slowing down.
Although these bandits were foolish, their overwhelming numbers were taking a toll on Lu HaiKong. He wielded a heavy axe, weighing over a dozen pounds, which required significant strength. As he fought, his arms grew weary, and he struggled to keep up with the relentless bandits.
Lu HaiKong bitterly regretted that the corpses of the bandits he killed were refreshed, wishing they could serve as a barrier to buy him some time.
In the 16th chapter of the 9th book, in the 1st volume, there is no mistake!
Ah, people truly rise to the occasion when pushed to their limits.
Amidst the chaos, Lu HaiKong failed to notice one benefit—his proficiency in 'Basic Axe Technique' was rapidly increasing. Initially, he was just below level 5, but after only ten minutes of fighting, he had already surpassed the halfway mark. At this rate, he might reach level 6 within a couple of hours.
However, if he continued for another hour or two, while his 'Basic Axe Technique' might reach level 6, Lu HaiKong would undoubtedly be torn apart by the bandits. He was already struggling to keep up.
Fortunately, Yue Er, a reliable girl, came to his aid. After ten minutes of gritting his teeth and holding on, Lu HaiKong felt the pressure suddenly ease. The bandits, who had been rushing in relentlessly, now stood in a daze.
"She succeeded!" Lu HaiKong turned around in surprise and witnessed a scene he would never forget. Yue Er, once clad in a green martial outfit, was now drenched in blood, with at least a dozen wounds. Zhang San's long sword was impaled in her left shoulder, and she used this leverage to restrain her opponent, swiftly beheading him with a reverse sword strike.
"How's it going, little brother Lu HaiKong?" Yue Er, covered in blood but brimming with excitement, asked. Her fighting style might be hard for Lu HaiKong to understand, but he couldn't help but feel a deep sense of admiration for her.
"Sis, with such ferocity, you'll never find a husband!" Lu HaiKong took a deep breath and replied with a smile.
