Chapter 129: The Manifestation of the Blaze Release
Chapter 129: The Manifestation of the Blaze Release
Seeing Obito's smile, which seemed to comfort him but was filled with schadenfreude, Itachi felt a mix of emotions.
He wanted to say something comforting like, "It's okay, you don't have to do that again," but decided against it.
Itachi decided to continue his training for a while longer, while Obito returned with Rin Nohara.
Although Obito and Rin weren't exactly going in the same direction, they still had a considerable distance to walk together.
"Rin, how's your medical ninjutsu training going?" Obito asked with a smile on their way back.
"It's going well. I feel like I've learned a lot of useful new knowledge, and now I can perform the most basic healing techniques." Rin replied.
"If I get hurt in the future, you have to help me, okay, Rin?" Rin said, her face softening with a gentle smile.
Obito's mind wandered as he looked at Rin's smile, as if he could see blooming flowers. He scratched his head and laughed, "Hehe, then I'll have to rely on you in the future, Rin."
"Healing you is not a burden at all, but Obito, you also need to be careful and try not to get hurt. Don't take your well-being for granted just because you have someone to heal you," Rin said, looking into Obito's eyes earnestly.
"Getting injured hurts a lot," she added.
"I'm Obito Uchiha, the strongest student in the fourth grade. It's not that easy to hurt me," Obito boasted, patting his chest.
"But Obito, you've never come in first in the practical exams. You can't really claim to be the strongest in the fourth grade, can you?" Rin pointed out.
"But I already beat Might Guy during the summer training camp, so that counts," Obito said nonchalantly, his face expressionless.
"Hmm, that's true. I guess you do have a point there," Rin conceded, thinking that he wasn't just boasting.
"I hope you can keep this up, Obito. If you continue like this, you'll surely become an exceptional ninja," Rin encouraged him, her fists clenched with determination.
Obito's face flushed slightly, and the fighting spirit within him had surpassed its limits. He intended to go back and train some more.
When they reached the point where they had to part ways, they waved goodbye to each other.
"It would be great if I could be assigned to the same team as Rin after graduation," Obito thought as he walked down the street, a smile spreading across his face as he imagined a beautiful future.
He pictured himself training with Rin, taking on dangerous missions together, and saving her when she was in peril. He envisioned getting injured accidentally, and Rin healing him with her medical ninjutsu.
In his fantasy, they helped each other complete various challenging tasks and ultimately became a legendary duo in the ninja world.
Usually, teams consisted of three people, but Obito didn't mind who the third person would be, as long as it wasn't Kakashi.
He felt it unlikely that Kakashi would be assigned to his team since Kakashi had graduated several years ago and already had his team of students.
"Granny, do you need help?" Obito suddenly noticed an elderly woman who seemed to have fallen, and he quickly rushed over to offer his assistance.
"My legs are a bit uncomfortable. Could you help me up and escort me to a nearby resting spot?" the old woman asked, her brow furrowed in discomfort.
"Let me carry you to the hospital, Granny. If you've injured your bones, it's better to get checked out," Obito suggested.
The elderly tend to have more fragile bodies, and a fall like this could potentially cause bone fractures.
"Don't worry, Granny. Despite my small stature, I'm a ninja. Carrying you is no problem for me. In fact, I could carry three more people if needed!" Obito assured her confidently.
"A ninja, huh..." The old woman hesitated, feeling reluctant to trouble Obito, who was just a child.
However, Obito's enthusiastic smile and persuasion eventually won her over, and she agreed. Without further ado, Obito lifted the elderly woman onto his back and sprinted toward the Konoha Hospital.
Not long after, Obito came across an elderly gentleman who was slowly making his way down the steps with the support of a cane.
Without a second thought, Obito ran over and helped the man safely down the stairs.
"You're a good kid. Thank you," the elderly man praised with a kind smile.
"It's no problem. I was just helping out," Obito waved it off with a hearty laugh.
Soon after, Obito encountered another elderly person who was with a child. The child's toy had gotten stuck in a tree.
Obito gathered chakra in his feet and, with two leaps, jumped into the tree. He retrieved the toy and returned it to its owner.
"Big brother, you're so cool! Are you a ninja?" the excited child exclaimed.
"Not a formal ninja yet, but I'm close," Obito replied with a goofy smile.
As Obito continued on his way, he met an older man carrying a large bundle. He helped the man deliver the heavy load to his home, and it was then that Obito realized he had returned to the spot where he had parted ways with Rin Nohara.
By the time Obito got home, it was already late, and night had fallen.
"I wanted to train a bit more, but I guess I'll call it a day," Obito thought, checking the time.
Although helping others had taken up a significant amount of time, Obito didn't feel any regret. Even if he went back to the moment he parted ways with Rin, he would still make the same choices.
Spending a little less time training wouldn't impact him too much, but if he hadn't taken the elderly woman to the hospital, something unfortunate might have happened to her.
Obito then went into the yard and began practicing the breathing technique.
"Heat, burn, flame..." As he inhaled a large amount of oxygen into his body, he tried to grasp the essence of the Fire Breath.
But something unexpected happened—he felt a sensation he had never experienced before. His body grew hot, and the chakra flowing through his meridian points and chakra holes felt warm.
On a whim, Obito gathered chakra in his palm and attempted to change its nature.
Whoosh!
A fist-sized flame burst from his palm, and Obito could clearly sense the heat emanating from it.
"The speed of the flame transformation has increased," Obito said in surprise.
He couldn't see the specific chakra values like Mu Yue could, but he noticed that the speed of his nature transformation was different from normal.
Obito paused to regain his normal breathing pattern, deciding to stop using the breathing technique. He gathered chakra once more, and this time, the flame that appeared on his palm was noticeably smaller.
"So eating spicy food really helps with the training of Fire Breath that much?" Obito wondered, both excited and astonished.
His current state perfectly matched Mu Yue's description of the Fire Breath.
Obito wished he could go out and buy a couple of chili peppers to chew on before continuing his training.
While the spiciness was uncomfortable, he could endure the temporary pain to avoid disappointing Rin and Mu Yue and to become an exceptional ninja.
The next day, Obito shared the good news of his progress with Mu Yue.
Mu Yue took a look with her Appraisal technique, and the results startled her. Obito's proficiency had skyrocketed from sixteen points to twenty-one, surpassing Might Guy's score of nineteen.
