Chapter 128: The Fully Equipped King of Curses
Chapter 128: The Fully Equipped King of Curses
With no one to stop him, Sukuna rushed to Yuji Itadori's side. He looked at the boy who had lost his will to resist with a mixture of disdain and disgust.
"Sure, a strong-willed curse user can be a bit of a hassle, but you, a weak and useless piece of trash, are just plain revolting."
But for the sake of the Ten Shadows Technique, he would endure it.
Sukuna channeled all his curse energy into his pinky finger and snapped it, then grabbed Yuji's neck and inserted his finger. Both of them bowed their heads, and when they looked up, something had changed inside them.
The black curse marks on Yuji's body faded, and the eye and mouth on his cheek disappeared. Sukuna had truly shed this unsatisfactory vessel and moved into another body.
He lifted his head, tears in his eyes, and with a mix of grief and anger, he gathered his curse energy into his right fist. A black light glowed as he launched a Black Flash attack at Yuji.
Smack!
The punch was caught firmly. Yuji raised his head, his handsome face covered in curse marks, and his eyes gleamed with cruel satisfaction. He kicked Sukuna away, tearing off his high school uniform shirt.
"Being trapped in your body, kid, was always a pain. Now I can finally stretch my legs."
"Sukuna!"
Yuji, who had just picked himself up from the ground with blood trickling from his mouth, roared and charged forward. But his hairs stood on end as he sensed a black line about to slice his head in two at a speed he couldn't react to.
"Idiot."
Sukuna showed no mercy to his former vessel, activating his slashing technique to instantly cut Yuji into pieces. But at the last moment, a wave of energy intervened, and the sharp slash missed.
Sukuna's four elongated eyes turned toward the edge of the battlefield, where a boy with aqua-blue hair stood. Yuji, following his gaze, appeared beside the boy, utterly confused.
"Sir."
Ri Mei, the boy with a cherubic face, approached Sukuna, shifting his gaze.
"Oh, it's Ri Mei."
Seeing his subordinate from a thousand years ago, coupled with the joy of his newfound freedom, Sukuna couldn't help but smile.
...
"Yuu, what are you doing here?"
Yuji, who had suddenly found himself at the edge of the battlefield, opened his mouth wide and blurted out his question to the boy.
But he quickly realized this wasn't the time to dwell on such questions and said anxiously, "Send me back, I need to defeat Sukuna and save Yuji."
"Cut it out. You weren't even a match for Yuji before, and now with the Nine Tails in his body, you're just a bubble tea kettle."
"Yuu" rolled his eyes. The hot-blooded, clueless protagonist really had no sense of his own strength. What did he think he could do to Sukuna with his athlete's build?
A single Black Flash was all he had going for him. Without any techniques or domains, trying to take on a fully powered Sukuna was as foolish as trying to break through Susano'o with a kunai.
Sometimes he really couldn't stand the bonds between the main and secondary characters.
This familiar tone made Yuji hesitate for a moment before he asked, "Teacher Luk?"
"Are you blind? I'm Yuu."
"Yuu" straightened his small frame, speaking with confidence.
"But..."
"Shut up. You just managed to break free from being Sukuna's vessel. Either sit tight and watch the show, or go back to Kyoto High."
If Gojo lost after he had warned him, he would never let him live it down.
...
"Welcome back, Lord Sukuna."
Black curse spirits emerged from Ri Mei's body, then spat out a grotesque, muscular, and emaciated corpse. This was the final gift Ri Mei had prepared for Sukuna.
The corpse was hideous, with two faces and four arms, clearly the remains of Sukuna after his death, or perhaps a corporeal Buddha.
Sukuna had gathered almost all his curse energy into his finger before he died, but a faint residue remained in his body, making it equivalent to a single finger.
"Good job."
Sukuna praised his subordinate, placing his palm on the corpse. As he did, the corpse turned to ash, and Sukuna's curse energy returned to its peak.
The King of Curses was fully restored!
Before he could celebrate his rebirth, a massive wave of curse energy caught his attention. A dark purple curse energy burst from nearby, and the light of "Void Form: Zi" enveloped everything around him.
Secret Art: Mito Kaguro!
A simple domain formed around Sukuna, protecting him and Ri Mei. The curse energy, after being reduced and weakened by the simple domain, still surprised Sukuna with its power.
"Nice. A curse user worth killing."
The ragged and weakened Kento Nanami emerged from the explosion, flying toward Sukuna. To resist Void Form: Zi, he had used almost all the curse spirits he controlled with his Spirit Manipulation technique and suffered severe injuries. He could only seek help from Sukuna.
Due to the body swap, the millions of curse spirits he had once bound to him were now free. If released, they would target him as well, and with his curse energy depleted and his condition dire, he would likely die in the Hundred Demon Night Parade.
Ri Mei intercepted Kento, who he had long been wary of. Now that Sukuna was free, their alliance was nothing more than a formality. If not for the oath, he would have liked to take advantage of Kento's weakened state and finish him off.
Sukuna, looking down at Kento, who was quickly using Reversal Technique to heal himself, asked condescendingly.
"Kento, where is that special-grade curse user? I want to kill him."
"I sealed him with the Prison Gate. Otherwise, you wouldn't have had a chance to break free."
It wasn’t just that you had no chance of escaping; if he wanted to, you’d be obliterated in an instant.
Jinso was well aware of Susano’s strength and temperament, which was why he refrained from saying the rest of what he was thinking. Otherwise, the easily triggered Susano might just kill him.
"Once you’ve taken care of Gojo, find a way to break the Jail Gate. I want to kill that bastard with my own hands."
The King of Curses had never forgotten Luk’s warning to Tiger Cane not to masturbate, lest he bite off a few parts. He was determined to take down this damn sorcerer!
Gojo’s figure emerged from the center of the explosion. At less than full power, his Vritra Form was under his perfect control, preventing him from hurting himself.
"I’ll take all of you down."
His voice was cold, his azure Six Eyes surveying the entire battlefield and locking onto the three targets.
"Rimei, go deal with the kid using spatial techniques at the edge of the scene."
Susano cracked his neck, eager for a satisfying battle after his recent release. He then glanced at the stationary Jinso.
"Jinso, aren’t you leaving?"
"I have a way to help you win."
Susano chuckled. He was always calculating during battles, but he never considered the possibility of losing.
Seeing Susano’s attitude, Jinso understood where Rimei’s “Great Susano” demeanor came from.
He learned it from his master!
A sonic boom erupted as the two figures clashed with intense force. The enhanced techniques from the Six Eyes and the King of Curses’ battle experience in the entire sorcery world collided, making their movements too fast to see clearly.
Because of his limitless power, Susano took a hidden hit. He tried to break through the limit with his domain extension, but Gojo, always aware of his opponent’s moves, dodged it.
Good eyesight can greatly enhance a battle.
"Six Eyes sorcerers are just as annoying as they used to be."
"I’m surprised the King of Curses is only this strong. Did sorcerers a thousand years ago just eat and do nothing?"
"Bold words, Gojo."
"Using someone else’s words, should I praise you, little Susano?"
Buildings crumbled, the ground sank. After a brief exchange, both men simultaneously unleashed their techniques.
"Blue!"
"Release!"
A blue curse energy sphere with endless suction appeared, aiming to tear Susano apart, but a sharp, slicing attack destroyed the Blue.
At the moment of the technique collision, the two clashed again, exchanging hundreds of blows in the span of a few breaths. Bones and flesh shattered on impact but healed instantly as both used reversal techniques to repair their bodies.
After a powerful punch that forced them to step back, Susano made hand seals, and one by one, his Shikigami emerged from the shadows.
"Ten Shadows!"
Nue, toad, giant snake, elephant, hare...
Shikigami were summoned and destroyed in their battle, which was exactly what Susano wanted.
The destroyed Shikigami’s power would be inherited by the others, all to empower the most powerful of them all: Maboroshi!
Two dogs emerged from the shadows, heads held high. Susano was a bit surprised by the powerful aura they emitted, but thinking of Maboroshi, he prepared to sacrifice them. However, he found that he couldn’t command the two dogs.
On the other side, Gojo stopped, lips pressed together. These two dogs were equivalent to the combined strength of three small ones for someone. If he killed them, a petty person would show up the next day.
The space rippled, and the two dogs disappeared, not even returning to the shadows.
Susano clicked his tongue and gave up on the idea of chasing them down to kill them. The other Shikigami had been sufficiently empowered.
"Eight-Handed Sword, Maboroshi!"
A terrifying Shikigami crawled out of the shadows. Maboroshi’s abilities included powerful regeneration and adaptability to all things, allowing it to quickly adapt to an opponent’s attacks and find their weaknesses.
Gojo frowned at Maboroshi. As one of the Three Great Families, he knew Maboroshi’s strength. If it fully adapted to his techniques, the scales would tip in Susano’s favor.
At that moment, Maboroshi’s divine sword sliced straight toward Susano, who had summoned it. It hadn’t been fully tamed yet, and until it was, Susano couldn’t command it.
Susano grinned and charged at Gojo, luring Maboroshi after him.
He pulled Gojo into the taming ritual. Both would be Maboroshi’s targets, but even if the taming failed, Maboroshi would still be his Shikigami, and Susano could still share its adaptive abilities.
This meant Maboroshi had two lives. Death during taming wouldn’t count as true death, and Susano could summon Maboroshi again, giving him a head start on adapting to Gojo’s techniques.
The victory was his!
...
In the opulent palace, Nailsaki and Nanami were silent for a moment when the two dogs suddenly appeared.
"Will something weird come in later?"
"It feels like it."
The next chapter will be posted before 6 PM. Since the sorcery arc is about to end, it will be written a bit slower. Stay tuned!
PS: I was a bit late yesterday, and some readers already mentioned cutting.
But really, I started writing because I hate it when stories are left unfinished. I won’t cut the story, I promise!
