Eustass Kid fell to the ground, then staggered back up. Glancing at the charred wound on his shoulder, he gritted his teeth and looked up at the figure radiating blood qi into the sky, murmuring, "This can't be real."

"Are you dead yet?!" Eustass Kid shouted at his companion.

Yet even surviving such a fatal strike, combined with his constant use of abilities, had drained his physical strength dangerously.
"As long as you're alive, what the hell's going on here?!" Kid demanded.
Law glanced at the charred wound on Kid's shoulder, then at Kuro, whose body now stood unscathed beneath swirling blood qi, before swallowing hard. "Unless I'm mistaken... he's obtained Kaido's strength!"
That punch had felt exactly like the impact Kaido once delivered when they fought him together. Combined with the familiar technique...
Law rasped, "Vegapunk?"
"Oh? You know about him? Makes sense—you were a Seven Warlord of the Sea, after all. You'd know some of these secrets."
At this moment, Kuro's blood qi dissipated, revealing his unharmed body. He chuckled, "Sometimes I think natural abilities aren't worth much. You people casually wield elements like they're nothing. Eustass Kid, your ability surpassing electromagnetic cannons? That's basically lightning."
"That Luffy can create fire through friction, his attacks carrying flames."
"And you, Law—your ability stirs wind too, right?"

Kuro swung his blade again, releasing chaotic slashes of piercing wind that rained down, carving deep, jagged gashes across the battlefield.
The island's edges resembled a cake hacked apart by a chef's knife, littered with gaping wounds.
This only deepened the grimace on Kid and Law's faces.
Kuro landed on the ground, facing them. "A year ago, when I killed Big Mom, her final punch made me realize something—compared to these monsters, my physical resilience was pathetic."
"If I'd clung to my old ways, I'd have fallen behind as you all grew stronger. Anything can happen in the Grand Line. No one deserves to sit eternally on a throne—not even the Four Emperors who ruled the New World for decades. Don't doubt it—I'm praising you."
He continued, "Even if I hadn't intervened, I could see it was only a matter of time before you toppled them. That Luffy even defeated Kaido directly. But I hate unpredictability. I wanted to avoid being overtaken—or better yet, to solve the problem entirely!"
"Fortunately", Kuro said, glancing at Vegapunk, his smile widening. "I executed Kaido and obtained his power source—the Fish-Fish Devil Fruit: Mythical Beast Type - Azure Dragon Form. Once I had that, I knew. After all, lifefactor technology already exists. Zoan forms can fuse with inanimate objects, gaining vitality. Vegapunk mastered this best. As a Navy man, Gramps had dealings with Vegapunk for decades—we owed favors. So I asked him for one."
Kuro released the Yokai Blade. As it floated upward, shock filling Kid and Law's eyes, the blade suddenly began melting, stretching and expanding.

The gloomy sky darkened like a storm-charged cloud, thunder rumbling.
"Roar!!!"
A muffled, thunder-like roar erupted. Law's Wado Ichimonji vanished, replaced by a colossal crimson-and-black serpent coiling skyward!
Scales gleamed on its massive body, spiraling around Kuro as it ascended, drawing all gazes upward.
"Roar!!!"
Before it could be fully seen, another roar split the air, a Crimson aura cascading from the heavens, drenching the island.
Kid and Law involuntarily shuddered. They felt it—Killing Intent!

Its intensity was staggering, laced with terrifying dread that froze them in place!

Another thunderclap cracked, lightning illuminating the sky. Only after the blood qi cleared did Kid and Law finally see the creature's true form.
A colossal dragon with a black spine and Crimson body, claws and fangs glinting with golden light, spiraled from the ground into the air, its gaping maw roaring at Kid and Law.

"Kaido!!" Kid gasped.
"No", Law clenched his arm, forcing himself to steady. "That's Kuro's sword! That's lifefactor! The blade ate a Devil Fruit!!" Law shouted.
A dragon—identical to Kaido—looming high, its body extending down to encase Kuro in a spiraling embrace.
"That's right, dragon", Kuro finally laughed wildly. "Using lifefactor technology, I spent a year fusing my Yokai Blade with the Azure Dragon Devil Fruit. This sword now possesses 'life'! Even mythical beasts are animals at their core. Vegapunk truly is a scientist five centuries ahead of his time."
His lips pressed into a thin line, his grin spreading across his face, grotesque and triumphant.
"Subarashi, isn't it?!"
"Roar!!"
As if on cue, the sky dragon roared again, echoing Kuro below.
Together, they radiated an overwhelming sense of invincibility.
