Chapter 127: Stellar Power
Chapter 127: Stellar Power
Ji Xinghuo immediately felt the effects of the Stellar Power. His own stellar force had changed!
Before implanting the "Stellar Gland" to advance to a Superpowered Being, a Being's stellar force wandered freely within their body, evenly dispersed. Only with utmost focus could they slightly manipulate and direct the flow of their stellar force to where they wanted it to go, but the process was exceedingly slow.
Now, with just a thought, Ji Xinghuo's stellar force obeyed his every command and moved as he willed it.
Congregating and dispersing;
Accelerating and decelerating;
Flowing and vibrating!
Every strand of stellar force was under his control, like an extension of his body. It was as if his stellar force had been infused with newfound vitality. Although the energy density of the stellar force remained unchanged, by manipulating the mode of conduction, he could achieve many effects that were previously impossible.
The most common application was the various "powers."
Ji Xinghuo stepped into the martial arts arena and stood in the center. He accelerated the stellar force within his body, gathering it into his right arm before throwing a punch.
Bang!
The air was compressed and ruptured by the punch, emitting a muffled sound.
Ji Xinghuo threw another punch, this time without channeling his stellar force to complement the move. The impact was noticeably weaker.
"It's truly different!"
"And this is without me even mastering the technique of exerting force. I've yet to truly unleash the Stellar Power."
"Let's try an Inch Power first."
Ji Xinghuo had watched instructional videos about Stellar Power before. For most Martial Arts Masters, the first lesson often began with teaching Inch Power as an introductory technique.
According to the research, Stellar Power should be understood as a type of "wave."
These waves possessed two fundamental characteristics: frequency and wavelength. Different frequencies and wavelengths, when combined, created different effects.
Inch Power was a high-frequency, low-wavelength wave.
By adjusting the stellar force within one's body to the corresponding frequency spectrum and then releasing it, one could generate a powerful force with short-range but incredible penetrating capability.
It sounded simple, but it was incredibly difficult in practice!
Generally, after infusing their bodies with Stellar Power, Martial Artists would need at least half a year to grasp the basics of Inch Power.
Moreover, it wasn't enough to merely grasp the basics. One had to practice tirelessly, combining it with their ability's "muscle memory." A Being with exceptional Martial Arts talent would need to train for three to five years to be considered proficient in Stellar Power, able to use it instinctively in actual combat as if it were a conditioned reflex.
And that was just one type of Stellar Power.
There were longitudinal waves, transverse waves, and spherical waves;
Frequencies ranging from low to high, and wavelengths from short to long;
Waveforms could be rectangular, sawtooth, pulse, sine, cosine, and more;
There were also more complex types like simple harmonic waves, linear waves, and probability waves...
By simulating these various waveforms with stellar force, one could unleash powerful and versatile forces like Inch Power, Cannon Power, Collapse Power, Pierce Power, and Relieving Power.
The Martial Arts pioneers on Earth had researched and developed dozens of Stellar Powers, and they had also learned a lot from the Stellar Beings of the Star Realm.
Each Stellar Power had its unique effects.
Different Stellar Powers were applied to different scenarios.
Most were used for offensive purposes or to increase speed and explosive power, while some could enhance defense, achieving unimaginable results.
The wonders and potential of Stellar Power were limitless.
However, all of this was still far off for Ji Xinghuo. For now, he had to start with Inch Power.
"High frequency, low amplitude," he murmured to himself, trying to channel his stellar force into his arm. As the stellar force flowed, he made it vibrate rapidly but kept the range of vibration very small, then threw a punch.
Pa.
The air around his fist seemed to crackle, but the effect was subtle.
"Does this count as a success?" Ji Xinghuo wasn't sure. For others, it would be almost impossible to achieve Inch Power on the first try.
But he had Microscopic Perception! Ji Xinghuo felt that with this punch, his stellar force had completely obeyed his will from the moment he began preparing for the strike. Even the movement of his bones, muscles, and blood flow was perfectly in sync with his intentions, allowing him to control and manipulate the force down to the most microscopic level.
"Let's try again," he said, not needing to focus as intensely this time. It was almost like a instinct as he threw another punch.
Pa!
This time, the air ruptured with a crisp sound, and Ji Xinghuo clearly saw a flash of white around his fist—a cavity formed by the rapid compression of air.
This was undoubtedly the effect of Inch Power.
"It doesn't seem that difficult..." Ji Xinghuo couldn't help but feel proud.
He threw punch after punch, dozens in a row, each one demonstrating Inch Power. He grew more and more proficient, and the arena resounded with the continuous bursts, almost blending into one continuous sound.
The burst of noise suddenly ceased.
Ji Xinghuo paused to catch his breath. Using Stellar Power consumed a significant amount of stellar force.
Those dozens of punches had cost him over a hundred points of stellar force.
"Whoosh..."
"Microscopic Perception boosts Martial Arts talent to a terrifying degree," he marveled.
He had witnessed the effects on Lin Yan Yongfeng before, but experiencing it himself still left him astonished.
He had read research materials on Martial Artists.
According to the data, an average Martial Artist with middling talent would need about half a year of practice to master one type of Stellar Power and about three years of diligent training to become truly proficient.
Ji Xinghuo considered himself to have excellent Martial Arts talent, far surpassing his talent in archery. He believed he was among the top of his peers, easily within the top 1%. However, even with such talent, it would take him at least a month of practice to grasp the basics of a Stellar Power.
Now, with the assistance of Microscopic Perception, it only took him a minute!
What an incredible talent!
Unprecedented, ancient and modern, astonishing and extraordinary... Even these words couldn't fully describe it.
A single Microscopic Perception was equivalent to having all those unique individuals with their abilities maxed out—'Seeing the Microscopic', 'Instinctual Reflexes', 'Muscle Memory', 'Peak Strength', 'Balance', and 'Focus'—and then perfectly combining their effects.
And this boost was just for his martial arts talent; Microscopic Perception would be even more useful in actual combat!
Ji Xinghuo had already envisioned his future fighting style.
Mastering dozens of Stellar Powers, seamlessly switching between them, and using a different Stellar Power with each attack and defense so that his opponents would never be able to guess his next move.
And even if they did guess, it would be difficult for them to counter.
What about Martial Arts Masters, Grandmasters, or even those with honorary Saint-level titles? They wouldn't stand a chance.
There were only two ways to defeat him: one, to completely overwhelm him with superior strength, speed, defense, explosive power, and reflexes, leaving him with no openings to exploit; or two, to avoid close-quarters combat and rely solely on long-range or control abilities.
However, there were ways to counter these strategies as well.
For the first, he just needed to become a well-rounded individual himself, not giving his opponents any advantage in terms of strength. As for the second strategy, he needed to become more proficient in long-range attacks and seize the initiative.
If he could do these two things, he would truly be invincible!
Ji Xinghuo's blood boiled at the thought, but he quickly calmed down.
"First, I need to practice the Stellar Power."
He pushed aside his chaotic thoughts, his expression turning serene once more as he began to practice the Inch Power with punch after punch, each one causing a sonic boom in the martial arts arena.
Pap pap pap...
In a rapid series of crisp sounds, Ji Xinghuo's fists flew, leaving afterimages in their wake.
Each punch was imbued with Inch Power, smooth and natural, without the slightest hindrance, as if he had been diligently practicing for many years.
Ji Xinghuo paused, his body drenched in sweat.
His stellar force was completely depleted, but he was extremely satisfied. The effect of Microscopic Perception was even better than he had imagined. In less than an hour, he had mastered the Inch Power.
Beyond mastery was 'Perfection'.
This required more training. Usually, it would take a martial artist over a decade, or even most of their life, to reach the Perfection realm with just one Stellar Power.
Ji Xinghuo estimated that it would take him about a week of practice to reach Perfection with the Inch Power.
During his break, he opened the Myriad Images Star Pupil interface and took a look.
"Progress is improving so fast?"
Ji Xinghuo was surprised. In just a few dozen minutes, the progress of the recently fused Stellar Power had increased to (Level 1 5/67).
This was the ability that improved the fastest without him investing spiritual source energy.
At this rate, the Stellar Power would only take a day or two to reach Level 2.
He currently had over 400 points of spiritual source energy remaining from the upgrade of Thousand Dexterity Hands and Ether Affinity after hunting the Beiluoshimen tribe in Jian Valley Fortress.
He thought about it and decided to invest spiritual source energy to upgrade the Stellar Power to Level 2.
He mainly wanted to see what the difference was between Level 2 and Level 1.
Soon, the Stellar Power reached (Level 2 1/307).
When his stellar force had mostly recovered, Ji Xinghuo continued to practice the Inch Power and immediately felt a difference. His control over the stellar force was faster and more precise, and the power of his strikes had increased significantly. He immediately invested the rest of his spiritual source energy, bringing the Stellar Power to (Level 3 1/1567).
At Level 3, the speed, efficiency, and power of the Stellar Power were enhanced again, roughly doubling the capabilities of Level 1.
Ji Xinghuo became completely immersed in his practice of the Stellar Power.
Every day, he spent half the time cultivating and the other half practicing the Stellar Power, steadily increasing his stellar force and making rapid progress with the Stellar Power.
A few days later, the most basic Inch Power reached the Perfection realm!
At this level, he could not only use his fists but also his arms, legs, back, and even his head to deliver a headbutt infused with Inch Power.
However, the range of Inch Power was too short, limiting its applications.
It was most commonly used in unarmed combat, and secondly, it could be added to blunt weapons like hammers or staffs to enhance their impact.
But when it came to sharp blades like swords, Inch Power was almost useless.
Ji Xinghuo turned his attention to practicing other Stellar Powers.
There was the Cannon Power, which explosively unleashed force, the Iron Shirt Power for defense and striking, and the Flying Swallow Power that increased movement speed. These were some of the more common Stellar Powers.
There were also many more advanced Stellar Power techniques that Ji Xinghuo had only heard of but didn't know how to practice.
Some Stellar Powers required a very abundant stellar force.
Others needed a higher level of the Stellar Power itself.
Ji Xinghuo didn't meet these requirements yet, so he could only practice a few of the conventional Stellar Powers. After he had practiced them to near perfection, almost a dozen in total, he left the Olympus martial arts gym, hoping to pay to learn some more advanced Stellar Powers.
However, most martial artists refused to teach him, unwilling to share their secrets.
Those who were willing to impart their knowledge taught Stellar Powers that weren't particularly advanced, and their functions overlapped with what Ji Xinghuo already knew. He mastered them in a day or two.
Before he knew it, the month of Xiyue had passed, and Jingyue had arrived, bringing cooler weather to the Star Realm.
Ji Xinghuo was so immersed in his cultivation and Stellar Power training that he seemed to have forgotten the passage of time.
Suddenly, one day, after his stellar force had been depleted and then fully recovered, the number jumped to 541/541, and he felt a sensation in his body, signaling that he had triggered the third evolution of his life, and he was about to advance to a High-level Being!
