Chapter 1266: The Auction That Will Go Down in History
Chapter 1266: The Auction That Will Go Down in History
December 11, 2023
The city of Geyrock was in an uproar once again.
In the public chat, comments were flying by so fast they were almost impossible to read:
"Turns out it's the Dark Energy Rebels!"
"Right after hearing Su Yu's story, they show up! What a coincidence!"
"After the Hymn disappeared, I knew these scoundrels would take advantage of the chaos!"
"Before, our Vigor Hub wasn't in the Dark Energy Rebels' sphere of influence. We had more encounters with the 'Spark Preservers.'"
"They actually dared to attack the auction? That's outrageous!"
...
The public chat was a frenzy of discussion.
In Geyrock, where Su Yu was located, the entire city was in a state of complete madness!
But Ashley wasn't done speaking yet.
She paused for a moment and continued, "Everyone, Councilor Reme has asked me to inform you that we will take the attacks by these rebel groups very seriously.
And, Su Yu, are you watching the live stream?"
"Me? You mean me?" Su Yu was taken aback when Ashley mentioned his name on the virtual screen.
"The Dark Energy Rebels are likely targeting you, based on my predictions. You should be cautious."
After saying this, Ashley gave Su Yu a meaningful look before disappearing from the live stream.
The scene then switched back to Rait Dodez, standing next to the giant dragon corpse.
"Is it really targeting me?" Su Yu was stunned.
"Targeting us?" The cat Morningstar, perched on his shoulder, was equally shocked, her fur standing on end.
After a moment, she poked Su Yu's cheek with her paw. "Counter, could they be targeting us because of Drak's body?"
"I don't know," Su Yu shook his head slightly.
But then he nodded gently. "It's possible, considering Drak was a member of the Dark Energy Rebels."
But would the Dark Energy Rebels really attack the auction just for Drak's body?
Drak wasn't killed by Su Yu, and they probably didn't have the strength to take the body anyway.
But what other reason could they have?
Su Yu was at a loss.
However, he wasn't particularly worried.
After all, with the Hymn's protection, the Dark Energy Rebels would have to get past the Hymn first to target him.
Breaking through the Hymn? What a joke!
"Bluwhale," Su Yu thought to his AI, "Is the situation really as Ashley described?"
"That's correct," Bluwhale responded quickly. "The situation is indeed as described. Based on my recent network analysis and the investigation of the live stream incident, it's clear that the rebels are involved."
"Dark Energy Rebels?"
"Yes."
"Why did you use the electronic voice earlier?" Su Yu continued.
Bluwhale was now back to his normal tone, but the electronic voice earlier was quite odd.
"To avoid detection by the Stellar beings. I detected several Stellar beings focusing their attention on you."
"I see... So the Dark Energy Rebels won't pose a threat to me?"
"No."
"Notify me immediately if you detect any rebel activity again!"
"Understood."
...
After Ashley left, the number of viewers in the live stream skyrocketed.
From around 110 to 120 billion, it suddenly surged to over 200 billion!
Rait Dodez was stunned when he saw the live stream's viewer count.
2... 206 billion! And the number was still rising?
This viewer count was terrifying, far exceeding the data from the first council live stream.
Almost all the residents of the Figer Hub who had the necessary equipment tuned in to watch the live stream!
He couldn't help but marvel, "This live stream is going to go down in history!"
The live stream started with the Corps Commander and Bank President Andrew each providing an auction item, followed by Ashley's appearance, and then Deputy Speaker Lemore.
Four Stellar Rank figures were participating in this auction, the most powerful individuals in the Hub.
"Even the Corps Commander probably didn't expect that promoting a minor account would create such a stir!" Raitedoz thought to himself.
But now, Raitedoz didn't have time to dwell on these thoughts.
The camera had returned to him, and he quickly smiled at the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, there was a small technical issue earlier.
According to Lady Ashley, it was an attack by the rebel group, the 'Dark Energy Insurgents.'
But there's no need to worry. The Dark Energy Insurgents only dare to meddle in the shadows. If they dare to come to the Hub, they won't leave alive!"
The audience in the live stream wasn't particularly worried. After all, the Dark Energy Insurgents weren't that strong.
Unless the Crystal Blue Commonwealth launched a direct attack, there was nothing to be concerned about.
What the audience was curious about, just like Su Yu, was why the Dark Energy Insurgents would attack the auction. Was it really for the Dark Thunder Dragon's corpse?
Raitedoz continued, "The auction will now continue. The starting bid is 300 billion Holy Silver Coins, or 300 standard Starlight Stones. Those who are interested can place their bids."
"300 billion!"
"310 billion!"
"330 billion!"
...
As soon as Raitedoz finished speaking, bids for the Dark Thunder Dragon's corpse started rolling in.
A Stage 4 Planetary Rank Dark Thunder Dragon's corpse was worth over 400 billion, so the price would naturally rise from 300 billion to 400 billion.
The final price would depend on how high the interested parties were willing to bid.
"Lady Naviz bids 390 billion. Is there anyone willing to bid higher?"
"Darando Manler... oh, Corps Commander Darando, bids 420 billion! This is the first time we've received a bid from a Stellar Rank figure in this auction. Truly befitting a Stellar Rank, his move is impressive!"
Raitedoz received the Corps Commander's bid.
Corps Commander Darando was quite interested in the Dark Thunder Dragon's corpse.
A Stage 4 Planetary Rank dragon's corpse was rare, and more importantly, the valuable materials from the dragon could be used to reward subordinates.
This was no longer the era of solo battles like in the Hymn Era.
To solidify one's power base, it was essential to give some benefits to one's followers.
Darando was willing to bid for the corpse, as long as the price was reasonable.
But seeing the Corps Commander bid, Raitedoz was genuinely taken aback!
Was the Corps Commander willing to spend money to buy his own item? How could such a thing happen?
But Raitedoz quickly understood:
The Corps Commander was likely just hyping up his minor account and didn't intend to sell the corpse.
No matter how high the price, as long as he bought it back, he wouldn't lose anything. That made sense, right?
Realizing this, Raitedoz quickly said, "Corps Commander bids 420 billion. Is there anyone willing to bid higher? Countdown: 30, 29, 28..."
"4400 billion!"
Just as the countdown reached "25," another bid came in.
Raitedoz looked at the bidder's information and was genuinely surprised again.
Because this person was none other than Bank President Andrew!
Another Stellar Rank figure had joined the bidding!
