Chapter 126: Return to the Main World
Chapter 126: Return to the Main World
The process of finding Drake Stone was surprisingly smooth.
This guy was incredibly high-profile. Jerry didn't need to use any magic; he simply used the phone he had previously stolen, searched online, and found the detailed address of Drake Stone in New York.
Perhaps he had no practical combat experience or was living too comfortably. When Jerry arrived at his bedside, he didn't react at all, sleeping like a dead pig.
A single Imperius Curse, and the guy led Jerry to the safe in his house, where he retrieved the Morgana School Mage Handbook that had been gathering dust for years.
After obtaining the handbook, Jerry didn't do much to him. He just used a Sleeping Charm to put him back to sleep, stole his Magic Ring, and quietly left.
This latest generation Morgana School Mage, Drake Stone, wasn't really a bad person.
At the age of fifteen, his master died due to a lack of talent, leaving him to study magic on his own.
Later, he discovered that the changing times meant that even small magic was enough to allow him to live a luxurious life as a magician. So, he focused on making money and enjoying life.
Given his limited talent and lack of a teacher, his chances of reaching level 300 were extremely low. It made more sense to use his magic to become a wealthy and influential person.
However, once someone has money, they tend to become corrupt, especially when they have some magic. Drake Stone was no exception, and he inevitably engaged in some unethical activities in secret. But after interrogation, it turned out that his crimes were not severe enough to warrant the death penalty.
In the movie, if Horvath hadn't come looking for him, he wouldn't have helped steal the Hand of Death, and ultimately been drained of his magic power by Horvath's Stealing Curse.
By the time Jerry obtained the Morgana School Mage Handbook, it was already two in the morning.
He found a secluded alley near Dave's laboratory and entered the box space once again.
In this world, any mage other than Merlin and Morgana would be unable to cast spells without a magical medium. They were only slightly stronger than ordinary people.
So, after reaching a deal with Sun Long, Jerry didn't impose further restrictions on his activities. Sun Long could live and move around freely within the box space.
The box space contained a mini mansion with a backyard. The villa was fully furnished, making it much more comfortable than the previously sealed Matryoshka Doll.
The next morning, after a good rest, Jerry left the box space and headed to Dave's laboratory.
For the next week, Jerry spent his days in the laboratory, learning magic and practicing meditation techniques with Dave. At night, he would leave and enter the box space to discuss magic with Sun Long.
As for sleeping, Jerry discovered he no longer needed to do that.
Since he started practicing meditation techniques, he found that they could replace sleep entirely, and the effects were much better than deep sleep.
Thus, over the course of the week, he spent his time learning magic, practicing magic, meditating to recover his mental state, and using brain boosters to combat fatigue.
The only downside was the rapid consumption of Little Red Stars.
However, he had earned over ten thousand Little Red Stars for helping to seal Horvath and prevent Morgana's resurrection, which was considered a good deed.
So, in the end, during his week in the second world, the number of Little Red Stars he had not only didn't decrease but actually increased slightly.
The only regret he had was that after a week of studying magic, he found that much of the magic from both the Merlin School and the Morgana School was redundant with what he had learned at Hogwarts.
There are even many spells in this world that, while having similar effects, are not as practical when actually cast as some of the Magic spells learned at Hogwarts.
For example, this world has a spell called the Rabbit Summoning Spell, which can conjure a rabbit out of thin air. However, the Transformation Spell from Hogwarts can completely replace this spell.
Despite this, Jerry is already very satisfied.
After all, just the meditation technique alone has already been a huge boon for him. Moreover, when you add up the various spells, there are quite a few that he finds very useful.
"Jerry, once you've sorted out your family matters, be sure to come back to New York for a visit!"
At the subway tunnel, by the entrance to the lab, Dave waved goodbye to Jerry.
After a week of interaction, Jerry's rapid learning of Magic often helped the clueless Dave, and Dave had developed a great liking for him.
Jerry smiled and nodded.
"Sure, if everything goes as planned, I should be back in about four to five months after I finish sorting out my family matters to continue learning Magic from my teacher!"
"Keep practicing the meditation technique. Your Magic is already quite good, but your magic power level is too low. Magic power is the foundation. You need to reach at least level 300 to feel secure in studying Magic!"
Balthazar reminded Jerry.
He had seen firsthand just how strong Jerry's Magic talent was.
Whenever he taught a spell, it usually took Jerry only a few days to master it, even though the power wasn't as strong as his own.
Sometimes, Jerry would even successfully learn spells from the Magic manual on his own and only come to him for some tips.
This finally made him understand why Jerry, at such a young age, could grasp so many spells. His learning ability was truly exceptional.
At times, he even felt that his own teacher, Merlin, might not have had such an extraordinary talent for learning Magic at the same age.
Look at Dave, who after a week, still hasn't even mastered the basic release of the particle cannon.
What Balthazar didn't know was that Jerry's Magic talent was actually quite average. His achievements were entirely due to his hard work and the extensive use of Little Red Stars to boost his brain.
Dave treated Magic as a hobby, dividing his time between his studies and pursuing the girl he had a crush on since elementary school.
Jerry, on the other hand, treated Magic as his means of survival.
During this week, he hadn't slept a single minute, using the meditation technique to replace sleep.
One was a hobby, the other a matter of survival. Even if Dave's Magic talent matched Merlin's, he couldn't compete with Jerry.
"Teacher, I understand!"
Jerry nodded respectfully.
The meditation technique determines the amount of magic power and the possibility of achieving eternal life. He naturally valued it, though he didn't show it too much.
If Balthazar were to test Jerry's magic power level now, he would find that his Magic level is no longer at thirty.
After saying goodbye to Balthazar and Dave, Jerry left the underground lab, found an empty alley, opened the Panel, and clicked the button to leave.
After a moment of dizziness, he opened his eyes to find himself back at his home in New York in the Main World.
He opened the Box and jumped into the Box Space. When he saw Sun Long in the villa, a smile appeared on his lips.
"It seems I really can bring people from the Mini World to the Main World!"
