Chapter 125: Harry: Hagrid Must Be an Extremely Powerful Wizard
Chapter 125: Harry: Hagrid Must Be an Extremely Powerful Wizard
The weather in Britain is ever-changing, with a clear sky in the morning turning into a heavy downpour by evening.
Far out in the sea, away from London, stands a massive reef with a small, dilapidated shack on top.
The bone-chilling wind of the storm blows through the cracks in the wooden walls, chilling the four people inside to the bone.
Yet, even in such conditions, the atmosphere inside the shack is tense and fraught with tension.
"You've been fed nothing but stupid lies! Now, give me that damn letter!" Vernon Dursley shouted, his face turning red with anger.
Standing across from him is a frail boy with round-framed glasses and a scar on his forehead.
In his hand, he holds an open envelope with the prominent Hogwarts Crest.
Harry Potter looks a bit dazed.
"This is what you've been hiding from me?" He frowns, "A letter... from a magic school?"
"Shut up!" Vernon Dursley lets out a shrill cry, his face turning purple with rage.
"There's no such thing as magic in this world!" He emphasizes each word, "Give me that damn letter, and we'll go home!"
"I won't!" Harry shakes his head firmly, clutching the letter close to his chest, "This is for me!"
Vernon Dursley is infuriated. He never expected that, even after coming this far, the damn owl would still find them.
Moreover, he had never seen such a large owl before; when it spread its wings, it looked like a monster, landing directly on their boat.
Vernon Dursley was terrified. He tried to shoo the owl away, but before he could even get his newly bought rifle, the owl snatched it with its claws and tossed it into the sea.
Then, it stood there, its scarred face looking menacing, its sharp claws like daggers, leaving deep scratches on the boat.
They dared not make any sudden moves.
"Monster!"
The owl was definitely abnormal; it and those people were all monsters!
Vernon Dursley screamed in his mind.
Fortunately, the owl left after Harry finished reading the letter. There was still time, as long as he destroyed the letter... there was still time.
"Give it to me!"
Vernon Dursley roared and charged towards Harry, attempting to forcibly take the letter.
Harry turned and ran, dodging and weaving in the small room, evading Vernon's large hands.
His slender build made him more agile, and for a while, Vernon couldn't even touch his clothes.
But the room was only so big, and when Petunia and Dudley reacted and joined the pursuit, Harry was soon pinned to the ground.
"Give me the letter!"
Vernon Dursley panted heavily, sprawled on the ground, trying to pull Harry's arm with all his might.
This was a simple task, and soon, Vernon managed to free his hand from Harry's chest.
But just as he reached for the letter...
"Boom!"
A sudden knock on the door shook the entire shack, startling everyone. They stared at the door in fear.
"Boom!"
Another knock followed.
Dudley shrank into Petunia's arms, trembling, "It's like something's about to come in."
"Who's at the door?" Vernon Dursley stood up shakily, his voice filled with anger, "I warn you, I've... I've already called the police! This is trespassing!"
There was a brief silence outside, followed by a creak as the door was forcibly removed.
A burly man stood at the doorway.
"Could I have a cup of hot tea? It wasn't easy getting here..." Hagrid squeezed into the room and put the door back in place.
"The rain is pouring down. I should've listened to Kyle and taken the Knight Bus..." He bent down and pulled Harry up from the ground, smiling, "You must be Harry."
Harry looked up at the fierce, rugged, and unrecognizable face, and a faint smile appeared on his face.
He could sense the friendliness this person had towards him.
Hagrid smiled and said, "The last time I saw you, you were just a baby. You look a lot like your father, but your eyes are like your mother's."
Vernon Dursley let out a cry, as if he had stepped on an electric wire, his face turning a deep purple.
He wanted to get rid of Hagrid, but that was clearly impossible.
"Get lost, you big oaf."
Hagrid completely ignored the shouting Vernon and proceeded to light the fireplace on his own.
No one knew what he was doing.
In the blink of an eye, the fireplace ignited with a roaring fire, and the surroundings quickly became warm.
"How does it feel, Harry?" Hagrid smiled and said, "Isn't it comfortable?"
"Yes." Harry looked a little stiff, "I'm sorry, but I really don't know who you are."
Hagrid said, "Just call me Hagrid, everyone calls me that. I'm the Keeper of Keys at Hogwarts, you must have heard of Hogwarts."
"The magical school?"
Harry glanced at the letter he had been holding.
"Yes, it seems you've already received it."
Hagrid patted the pocket of his coat, where there was an identical letter, but now it seemed unnecessary to take it out.
"It was delivered by a huge owl." Harry explained, "Bigger than any bird I've ever seen."
"Oh, that's S... Well, it's called Landon now."
Hagrid took a greasy, slightly charred sausage from the fire tongs and handed it to Harry.

"Landon? Is that the owl's name?"
Harry took the sausage and bit into it, the rich aroma causing him to squint involuntarily, and he had never tasted anything so delicious in his life.
"Yes, he likes this name."
Hagrid seemed to think of something, and his expression looked a little lost.
But this loss of spirit quickly disappeared, and everyone present, including Harry, didn't notice it.
"Oh, I almost forgot... Happy birthday, Harry."
Hagrid took a parchment box from his inner pocket. "It might be a little squashed by me, but the taste is still as fresh."
"For me?"
Harry was a little incredulous that he could still receive a gift on his birthday?
He opened the box, and inside was a large cream cake.
The cake was squashed, looking flat, and the green syrup on it was a bit blurry due to sticking to the box, but you could still vaguely see the words "Happy Birthday" and his name.
"Try it and see how it tastes." Hagrid said expectantly.
Harry nodded and scooped a small piece of cream and syrup into his mouth.
Sweet... Sweeter than anything he had ever tasted, as if he had stuffed an entire jar of sugar into his mouth.
"And this." Hagrid also put a caramel candy next to the cake.
"Candy!" Harry's eyes lit up, but he didn't eat it.
Because of that bite of cake, he couldn't eat any more sweets for the time being, but Dudley next to him swallowed his saliva, his eyes fixed on the cake.
He hadn't eaten much all day and was already hungry.
"Don't eat any of his stuff, Dudley!"
Vernon shouted, then he looked at Hagrid, "Listen, I'm not going to spend money to let him learn magic tricks."
Hagrid sneered.
Would Harry Potter really be unable to go to Hogwarts because of a lack of Galleons? That's a joke.
But Uncle Vernon didn't know this, and he kept rambling on about something.
It was at this moment that Harry realized that Uncle's family had known about the magical school all along but had been hiding it from him.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, a shrill, miserable scream came from behind them.
Aunt Petunia hugged Dudley frantically, and his tongue began to swell rapidly, soon growing to about four feet long.
Uncle Vernon also didn't have time to argue with Hagrid, and he rushed over, seemingly wanting to push Dudley's tongue back into his mouth.
Dudley covered his mouth, crying out in pain.
The entire cottage was in complete chaos.
Hagrid looked at Dudley, then at the umbrella in his hand, looking dazed.
Did he just use magic? No way! But if it wasn't him, how could the child have suddenly transformed like this?
Could it be that the broken wand had misfired? But it hadn't shown this problem before! Harry watched in astonishment from the side.
No further explanation was needed, and he now fully believed in magic.
The magic was simply amazing. He hadn't even noticed what Hagrid had done, and Dudley had transformed like that.
Harry's eyes grew brighter, and the Keeper of Keys at Hogwarts? He must be a very powerful wizard!
