Chapter 1248: Severs Hospital Welcomes You
Chapter 1248: Severs Hospital Welcomes You
Late into the night, Severs Hospital remained brightly lit as Professor Manste, working overtime, sat in the lounge, sipping a hot cup of coffee and patiently awaiting the arrival of his esteemed guest.
Everything comes at a cost.
Staying up late for a generous donation was not an unacceptable matter.
Though the timing of the appointment was frustrating, the dedicated Professor Manste was already accustomed to it. After all, some matters were best kept out of the daylight, and it was just this Mr. Aides who had chosen to meet before dawn that made him want to complain.
As the sound of a car approached, Professor Manste finished the bitter coffee, patted his face to refresh himself, put on a formulaic smile, and walked towards the entrance of Severs Hospital.
There, he saw an ordinary Ford car, and Mr. Aides had already opened the back door.
Professor Manste gestured for two male nurses to come forward and carry the patient from the back seat of the car onto a stretcher.
"Dear Bella is now in your care, Professor Manste," Albert said as he walked side by side with Professor Manste into the hospital, reminding him, "I hope that at all times, you will not remove her wrist and ankle rings. They are precious gifts."
"Of course, this small request is very reasonable," Professor Manste happily agreed and took the opportunity to introduce the next steps to Albert, "We will perform a small operation to solve her problem of babbling incoherently."
"Oh, of course, if this is the normal procedure in your hospital," Albert smiled and said, "Before the operation, I hope the hospital can provide a room for me to talk to Bella again and calm her emotions."
"Of course, no problem. Please come with me. By the way, you can also take a look at her living environment. I assure you that you will be satisfied." Professor Manste led Albert to a separate room, and surprisingly, there was a caged cell inside that looked like a zoo enclosure.
"I need to notify the medical staff to prepare for the upcoming surgery. If you're done talking, just press the red button next to the door," Professor Manste said, pointing to the red button by the door and then closing it.
Albert looked around and lightly touched the corner of the camera with his hand, causing it to malfunction temporarily. He then used the Reviving Charm to wake Bella, who was still unconscious.
As soon as Bella woke up, she pounced on Albert like a rabid dog.
Unfortunately for her, she was in the cage, and Albert was outside.
"Albert Anderson."
Bella growled and called out the true name of the stranger in front of her, followed by a string of foul-mouthed curses.
"It's good to see you so energetic. However, your cursing skills need improvement."
Albert pulled a chair next to him and sat down, smiling as he faced Bella in the cage, as if admiring an animal in an enclosure.
"Actually, you should be happy."
Albert lifted his hand and gently touched Bella's tongue to the roof of her mouth, silencing her temporarily as he spoke.
"Snape succeeded, and your wish came true."
After finishing his sentence, he paused for a few seconds before releasing the spell.
"Dumbledore is dead. Dumbledore is dead!" Bella muttered in surprise, "That damn old fool is dead."
"Yes, Dumbledore is dead," Albert said meaningfully, "In his own words, his death would benefit everyone, so he chose to embrace it."
Albert felt that Skringer would probably want to send his regards to their ancestors if he heard the news of Dumbledore's death.
"What do you mean?"
Bella's fierce eyes fixed on Albert.
"Snape was a traitor from beginning to end!" Albert said lightly, "A traitor that not even the Death Eaters could have imagined. Don't you think Dumbledore's plan was crazy?"
"Impossible! It's impossible!" Bella reached out to grab the railing, shouting at Albert in disbelief, "How dare Snape betray the Dark Lord? How could he do such a thing?"
Fortunately, Albert had just cast a silencing spell, or else the people outside might have heard their conversation.
"Well, I guess it was probably because the Death Eaters killed Snape's beloved," Albert said with a pleasant smile, once again silencing Bella, who was half-insane.
This time, he pinched Bella's cheeks, forcing a bottle of sedative down her throat, and continued, "And Dumbledore gave Snape the opportunity to take revenge on the Death Eaters."
"By the way, you probably don't know that Snape actually had his own corporeal Patronus, which is quite incredible for a Death Eater!"
"Cough, cough, you..."
Bella's hateful gaze tried to pierce Albert with a thousand holes, but unfortunately, her eyes could not kill.
"Well, our time is limited, so why don't we talk about something more meaningful?" Albert brought the topic back, speaking softly, "For example, the rest of your life."
"You will regret this," Bella said hoarsely.
"I never intended to kill you. I hate killing people. At most, I'll get someone else to do it," Albert said earnestly, "Like the Ministry of Magic, for example; they're quite good at it."
"I will kill you."
"You can't beat me, even in a one-on-one fight," Albert said cheerfully, "I know you hate Muggles and enjoy slaughtering them, so I've specially arranged for you to stay in a Muggle insane asylum. This place caters to lunatics like you, and this is where you will spend the rest of your life.
"Those Muggle doctors will soon cut out your tongue and take away your ability to speak. They will also damage the muscles in your wrists so that you can never cause them trouble again. Of course, this place is still better than Azkaban, at least there are no Dementors here." Albert explained with a smile, "But they will feed you medication every day to ensure you become a lunatic. Rest assured, I will remind them to reduce the dosage so you can maintain your sanity and spend the rest of your life here."
"Are you suggesting that a Muggle hospital can't hold a witch?" Bella asked.
"Actually, you can try. Perhaps Lord Voldemort will suddenly remember you one day and track you down." Albert, as if seeing through Bella's thoughts, replied with a malevolent smile, "However, you have caused him significant losses this time, and I suspect he's quite eager to kill you himself."
"You mudblood, don't get too happy. Dumbledore is dead, and the Dark Lord will not spare you!" Bella exclaimed confidently, "He will kill you with his own hands."
"You don't have to worry about that. Lord Voldemort will probably meet his end before I do." Albert smiled and changed the subject, "I heard he entrusted a certain treasure to you, which you then placed in the Lestrange family vault."
Bella's eyes widened as if she had heard something terrifying.
"The effect of the sedative is not as strong as I expected." Albert muttered to himself, "Oh well, at least you can speak normally now."
"What do you think would be Lord Voldemort's reaction if that goblet were to go missing?"
"How do you know all this!" Bella exclaimed in disbelief, her eyes widening further despite the use of the sedative.
"I'm a seer!" Albert reminded her, "Isn't it normal for me to predict future events?"
"Well, it looks like they are ready for the surgery." Albert pressed the red button and turned to Bella, "They will take away your ability to speak. I hope you enjoy your stay here, and I will visit you again when I have the time."
Professor Manste entered with a few nurses. They held a tranquilizer gun and shot Bella before she could react, knocking her unconscious.
"The surgery is ready, and I believe that after tonight, Miss Bella will no longer be a problem for you." Professor Manste put away the tranquilizer gun and smiled at Albert.
"Thank you for your help!" Albert nodded, "If possible, could you make sure her hands aren't too agile? It would make it easier for you to take care of her."
"Rest assured, we will soothe Miss Bella's wounded soul. We are professionals in this field." Professor Manste confidently smiled and waved for the male nurses to open the door and carry Bella into the operating room on a stretcher.
It's over! Albert muttered to himself as he looked at the illuminated operating room door.
He could have easily used magic to cut out Bella's tongue and silence her forever, but he ultimately decided to let the doctors at Severs Hospital perform the surgery.
After all, it was part of the experience in an asylum, and he believed it would give Bella a new "entertaining" experience.
After the surgery, Albert bid farewell to Professor Manste and returned the borrowed Ford car.
He then used his communication book to contact Shana, who was still at Hogwarts, to inquire about the situation there. Unsurprisingly, Hogwarts was in chaos after Dumbledore's death, but Albert had no intention of interfering. He knew that showing up now would only cause more trouble. After reminding Shana to be careful, he returned home to rest.
The lights were still on in the living room, and upon removing his disguise, Albert found Katrina still awake.
"Is it done?" Katrina asked, putting down her book.
"Yes." Albert nodded, "Dumbledore is dead, and the good days are over. The entire wizarding world is about to descend into chaos."
"What are your plans now?" She asked.
"In a few days, I'll attend Dumbledore's funeral and collect the inheritance he left me." Albert bent down to rub Tom's fur as he slept on the sofa.
"I'd wager many people won't be sleeping well tonight." Katrina commented thoughtfully.
"Yes." Albert turned to Katrina, "You should get some rest too. Staying up late is not good for your health."
"I recall you have a Time-Turner." Katrina suddenly said, "To be honest, I'm curious as to why you seem to be taking all of this in stride."
"This is something I cannot easily change."
Albert never intended to use the Time-Turner to alter events. Many things were already set in motion, and he never considered changing Dumbledore's fate.
Ever since Dumbledore's hand was cursed, Albert knew that everything had already been decided.
"You're right, it's difficult to persuade someone like him." Katrina comforted, "Get some rest, and you need to be in high spirits tomorrow. Everyone here needs you, and don't let Isabelle worry."
Perhaps, just as Katrina said, many people would indeed have a sleepless night! Albert thought and wondered how Minister Skringer would react to the news of Dumbledore's death.
