Chapter 1241: Return to Piracy, Abel
Chapter 1241: Return to Piracy, Abel
Boom! Boom! Boom!
On the Grand Line, warships clashed, exchanging cannon fire. Standard-issue Capital Ships, shrouded in white mist, launched cannonballs that were both swift and massive. The resulting Explosiondust Mist dwarfed all others, quickly shattering the combined fleet of the enemy.
The warships swiftly closed in on the half-sunken vessels, capturing the surviving crew.
"Isn't she here?!" Jinn flapped his wings, darting from one shipwreck to another. Among the ten-odd Pirate Ships in the fleet, he couldn’t find the person he sought.
"Hahaha, what are you looking for? You’ll never find her! Seeing you so furious makes me happy!"
The captured pirate grinned defiantly, his face resolute. "For the sake of Ideal Village, we willingly sacrifice ourselves! Come on! Kill me, you soul-sold World Government pirate! I’ll never bow to any strength!"
Jinn tightened his grip on the man, who looked like a ragdoll in his hands, and was about to crush him. But then, Kas’s voice echoed from afar: "Stop, Abel."
Jinn froze, turning his head. Kas’s warship had arrived, the bearded man holding a Transponder Snail. "Vice Admiral Klah sent news. The people from Ideal Village, when we came looking for them, actually went to Wano Country. But Kuro Mr. has returned. Your kin was captured by Kuro Mr.."
"Is that so?"
Jinn glared at the man in his grasp, coldly adding, "Then this one’s even more useless now."
"No", Kas shook his head. "They aren’t pirates. They’re just on a different path. They’re not wicked. Their intentions were good. Since the ringleader is caught, the rest lack the support of ‘Ideal Village.’ Let them go."
Jinn snorted, staring at the man. "What’s your name, kid?"
The man raised his chin. "Golden Wei!"
Smack!
Jinn hurled Golden Wei onto the deck and flew back to Kas’s warship. "So, are we heading back?"
"Not you", Wilbur interjected. "Abel, you can’t return."
Jinn stiffened. "What do you mean?"
"Let’s discuss it back at the office", Wilbur said.
The three entered Kas’s warship, heading to the central fortress and the office within.
Kas sat behind his desk, while Wilbur and Jinn faced each other on the sofa, a coffee table between them. Wilbur poured tea, sliding a steaming cup toward Jinn.
Jinn removed his mask, revealing his handsome, tanned face, and sipped the tea. "Alright, explain why I can’t go back."
Wilbur nodded. "Wano Country’s situation escalated. Klah reported that Kuro Mr. subtly warned us we’ve been too lax. CP0 discovered our movements, all thanks to your kin being captured in Wano Country. If not for that, CP0 wouldn’t have surfaced so soon. We were careless, thinking they’d already left. They’re actively exposing themselves to fulfill their mission. Kuro Mr. warned us through Klah."
Jinn frowned. "So you’re saying we must separate to avoid World Government suspicion?"
"Exactly. You’re sharp, Abel. No wonder you were Beasts Pirates’ chief steward." Wilbur sighed. "This is a temporary setback. Kas and I oversee other regions, and once Wano stabilizes, we’ll return to Dressrosa. Originally, we hoped you’d stay with Klah to protect Kuro Mr., but now it’s impossible. This isn’t just a CP issue—we must consider World Government’s reaction."
"You’ve known Kuro Mr. for days now. You know he’s hiding, not yet ready. There’s a reason for that. He’s guiding everything. His warning was clear." Wilbur met Jinn’s gaze. "Return to piracy. Lead the remaining Beasts Pirates on the Grand Line. Sink the CP ships, creating open opposition to Wano Country. That way, the World Government won’t suspect us."
Jinn fell silent. As Wilbur prepared to argue further, Jinn suddenly smiled. "Do you think I’d resent this?"
Wilbur blinked. Jinn picked up his mask, studying it. "In Wano, even before Kaido Mr., I rarely removed this mask. Yet, the moment I met you, I took it off without hesitation."
He stood, voice deepening. "Your justice made me let go of my distrust. Kuro Mr.—may I call him that? His ideal is worth pursuing, whether as pirate, Navy, or anything else. Pirates can seek justice too. Justice doesn’t discriminate by identity. Only one’s actions can be judged."
He tightened the mask over his face, its voice echoing. "I’ll do whatever justice demands. Because this justice can truly change the world. I’ll be a pirate again!"
"Abel Mr.!" Kas shot up, excited. "I never imagined you’d grasp it so deeply. I’m ashamed I argued with Wilbur about letting you return to Wano!"
Wilbur lowered his head. "Kas opposed it, while I urged you to stay a pirate. I see now I was wrong. Forgive us."
"No need. We’ve known each other too briefly. But I’ll affirm this path."
Jinn gripped his Long Blade. "This is the closest I’ve seen to a world-changing path. I’ll give my life to see it through!"
Wilbur smiled faintly. "Then let’s plan the next steps. We need a clear strategy."
The two CP0 agents in Wano Country must die at sea—without a trace linking us.
Our only allies are the pirates in the New World, already warring.
As one of the Three Disasters of the former Beasts Pirates, you’re the perfect medium.
With your strength and prestige, leading the Beasts Pirates as pirates will create a natural barrier for Wano Country, shielding it from World Government control.
