Chapter 124: The Flair of That Single Strike!
Chapter 124: The Flair of That Single Strike!
Cursed Techniques Department Report
Date: October 31, 2018, 7:00 PM
Location: Entire Tokyo, starting from Shibuya and spreading outward.
Description 1: Signs of ritual fluctuations detected. Approximately 36,000 people have mutated into curse-infused monsters, their limbs, torsos, and brains transforming into non-human forms. Most possess the combat strength of a Grade 4 to Grade 3 Cursed Technique Practitioner.
Description 2: 95% of the mutants are teenagers and young adults, aged 17 to 45. Most are obsessed fans of celebrities, with their trajectories converging at various meet-and-greet events. It is highly likely that the curses used these events to covertly spread through the general population.
Description 3: The number of victims is rapidly increasing, with over 3,000 casualties reported. Videos, audio, and images of the incident are spreading, making it impossible to contain the situation within the Cursed Techniques community.
The latest updates from the Detection Department are continuously rolling in.
...
"Grass Spirit Curse Technique!"
A curse-infused nail shot directly into the forehead of the real person, the massive impact sending him flying backward.
Nailasaki turned sharply, her eyes locking onto the real person as he struggled to get back up. She sneered.
"Who would underestimate a curse spirit capable of causing such a large-scale disturbance!"
"Ah, you're right," the real person replied with a smile, his eyes turning cold. "I thought a minor lackey wouldn't waste much of my time. Kiyotaka was right; I've been playing too much."
His body stretched and morphed like deformable clay, and Nailasaki calmly retreated, detonating the curse nails embedded in his body.
BOOM!
The explosion sent the real person's body splattering into a pile of goo, which quickly reformed. Though his appearance was mangled, his aura had noticeably weakened.
"Tsk."
The real person frowned. This woman seemed to be his nemesis. The explosion not only injured him but also damaged his main body hiding with Hanami.
But it didn't matter. He had grown to the point where his clones could use techniques. If he could just touch her, the tables would turn.
He lunged at Nailasaki, dodging the curse nails flying toward him, closing the distance rapidly.
Nailasaki quickly retreated, unsure of his intentions but certain that preventing his plan was the right move.
The curse nails exploded, sending a cloud of dust into the air.
SWISH!
The real person burst through the dust, meeting Nailasaki's prepared curse nails. He didn't dodge, only grinning.
"I can cure people who have turned into monsters."
Nailasaki's heart raced. She detonated the nails prematurely, but the second explosion did little damage. As he closed in, a massive fist flew toward him.
Grabbing him, Nailasaki slammed him into the ground repeatedly, the curse spirit's mouth and nose bleeding profusely. She finally stomped on him.
"Don't think I'm bad at close combat."
Thanks to Teacher Loki, her physique was strong enough to take down a polar bear!
"Turn Sazuki back, and I'll let you die quickly!"
The real person laughed without struggling, a sinister smile curling his lips. His hand reached toward Nailasaki's foot.
Nailasaki felt a chill run down her spine. She had fallen for his trap, but it was too late!
SNAP!
A bandage-wrapped katana sliced through, severing the real person's arm.
Ten Slash Curse Technique!
Nanami Kenjirou, wearing glasses, approached, adjusting them as he continued to swing his katana. With swift and precise movements, he severed all of the real person's limbs and kicked him away.
"Nanami-san?" Nailasaki asked, surprised. "Why are you here?"
"Overtime," Nanami Kenjirou replied emotionlessly, giving her the chills.
"You did well, but don't believe anything your enemy says, whether it's the truth or a lie. Consider all plans only after the enemy is neutralized."
He pointed to the real person, who was writhing and regenerating. "Watch the enemy's movements, and..."
He pointed to the sky. "The movements in the sky."
Nailasaki instinctively looked up. A thick cumulonimbus cloud had formed, swirling into a storm center.
"It's Teacher Loki!"
...
Ming swung her massive scythe, a flock of crows circling above her. Her skills were exceptional among Grade 1 Cursed Technique Practitioners, and her "Divine Wind" technique, enhanced by the crows, could rival a Special Grade Cursed Technique Practitioner's single strike.
Especially with Amasakki's technique boosting it.
Amasakki gently chanted, her technique manifesting through her singing. The incantations within the technique's casting process amplified its power exponentially.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The special forces crows launched like missiles, efficiently destroying the mutants. The students leading the operation were stunned, amazed that Ming, who looked so beautiful, was also so powerful.
"Miss Ming, you're amazing!"
"Salmon! Salmon!"
"Even more terrifying than my berserk form!"
Hearing the students' praises, Amasakki couldn't help but feel a bit envious and jealous.
"What's that supposed to mean? I contributed too."
"Is that all you care about?"
Ming's sultry voice was as gentle as water, the crows returning to her side, the transmitted curse power dissipating.
"Why did you stop?"
Amagoji asked, puzzled, "What do you mean? The curse energy just started to surge a few minutes ago. Could Mimi's curse power be that weak?"
"That's not possible. Lu Ke's material is practically a treasure. I've felt my curse energy skyrocket recently, and Mimi, who is closer to being the main girlfriend, should have consumed even more."
"Amagoji, I can only give you a zero," Mimi said, lifting her head. "It's been thirty seconds since it started. Haven't you noticed the sky's changes?"
Amagoji looked up, bewildered, at the endless cumulonimbus clouds and couldn't help but exclaim, "How can a technique cover such a vast area? The interventions and battles with Gojo didn't even reach a tenth of this size."
"It's simple; it means he hasn't used his full strength before," Mimi said, her red lips curling as she checked her phone for the latest news.
Description Four: Ten minutes after the incident, a massive cumulonimbus cloud appeared in the sky, originating from Shinjuku and covering all of Tokyo within thirty seconds, and it's still expanding. It is believed to be the work of the special-grade curse user, Fuji Lu Ke.
"Tokyo is entirely covered, and it's still expanding. It's so powerful it sends shivers down my spine."
...
In Shibuya.
The Jade Dogs led Yuuji and Nobara Kugisaki through the chaos. Countless mutated beings attacked the surrounding people, including them.
"Mom..."
Hearing the distorted voice of a former child, Yuuji clenched his fists.
"Nobara, who could have done this?"
"I'm not omniscient. Don't assume I know everything."
Nobara's face was grim, her anger toward the culprit burning.
"If I find that cursed spirit, I'll have the Hare tear it apart piece by piece."
It was the most brutal punishment she could think of.
Their steps suddenly halted as three figures blocked their path.
"You must be the vessels for Sukuna."
A relatively handsome man spoke, flanked by two bizarre and twisted cursed spirits.
Three special-grade cursed spirits! Yuuji tensed, preparing himself. According to Kento Nanami, his step-brother, he could handle a regular special-grade without a domain expansion, but facing three at once made him nervous.
"Don't be afraid."
Nobara glanced at the anxious Yuuji. The Jade Dogs, now even larger than during the exchange meeting, lifted their chins proudly and barked fiercely.
"Lu Ke-sensei has trained the Jade Dogs to be incredibly powerful, even among special-grades. We only need to hold off one while they finish the others."
Yuuji scratched his head. "Is that really okay?"
"Of course, why wouldn't the strength of our familiars count as our own?"
Nobara, always ready to use Megumi's self-destruct technique, didn't mind if the familiars were stronger than her.
Suddenly, the dogs let out a series of frightened howls, cowering and lowering their heads.
Yuuji: "..."
Nobara: "..."
Yuuji: "Are you sure this will work?"
Nobara bit her lip, embarrassed. "It should... I think."
Why do these dogs always fail at the crucial moment?
At that moment, the handsome man leading the group suddenly looked terrified, his eyes wide as he screamed, "Brothers, run!"
...
In the sky, a massive, indistinct creature appeared amidst the rolling black clouds.
The vortex began to contract, and destructive lightning bolts shot through the clouds. Simultaneously, rainwater condensed into water blades, forming like the suspended sword of Damocles, aimed at the enemies below.
Using his perception to detect and lock onto every unfamiliar presence, Lu Ke combined his precise control with the water manipulation techniques of the Storm Dragon to unleash a devastating, wide-area attack.
Lu Ke clenched his hands, the water blades turning black, and then he pushed his hands downward.
"Great Storm God Strike: Ten Thousand Storms!"
Countless black water blades descended in an instant, accelerating continuously. The wind that should have slowed them down instead acted as a propellant, pushing the water blades to their maximum speed.
When the water blades hit the ground, there was no sound. The moment they touched their targets, the sheer force reduced them to minced meat, which was then sucked into the holes created by the water blades.
Seconds later, the curse users received the latest update from the monitoring department.
Description Five: Forty seconds after the incident, an estimated forty thousand water cannons were launched from the sky, covering all of Tokyo. All non-curse users, including mutated beings, cursed spirits, and cursed sorcerers, were eliminated!
All the curse users couldn't help but exclaim, "What a monster!"
If he wanted to, he could probably end the curse world by himself.
...
"Hmm, Kamo can hide his presence, so there might be a couple of rats left. A hasty strike can only do so much."
Lu Ke slowly retracted his hand, and the Storm Dragon in the sky dissipated.
He took one last look at the now calm disaster and walked into the building.
The curse techniques are almost over.
Because of the subsequent mess created by Kenjaku, I don't plan to write the story beyond the Shibuya Incident, making it more friendly for anime fans.
