Chapter 124: Is This a Protective Ring? No, This is Like Having an Extra Life!
Chapter 124: Is This a Protective Ring? No, This is Like Having an Extra Life!
"What is this?" Delius also noticed the difference in this glove, looking at it as a high-end magical item.
"It's called a Spell-Proof Glove, one of our store's main products!" Ivan enthusiastically introduced it to Delius, then glanced at Ellison and Sunny before continuing.
"If you don't like wearing gloves, you can also get it in a cloak or hat style. Trust me, it will definitely give your enemies a surprise!"
"What does it do? Does it instantly kill the enemy upon contact, or does it carry a curse of some sort?" Delius immediately tensed up. After seeing so many normal magical items, he didn't dare to underestimate a main product from a Dark Magic Shop.
He had once been on a mission to capture a Dark Wizard, and the Dark Magic Item in the enemy's hand was extremely powerful, almost instantly killing one of his comrades!
Seeing the Auror Captain react this way, Ellison and Sunny also became tense, their expressions tightening to the extreme.
"Kill the enemy? Carry a curse? How could that be? This isn't a Dark Magic Item", Ivan shook his head.
Isn't this a Dark Magic Shop? If it doesn't sell Dark Magic Items, what does it sell?
Delius and the others were utterly confused but listened as Ivan continued.
"I said it's a Spell-Proof Glove. As long as you wear it and look into the eyes of your opponent, it will reflect their curses back at them."
Reflect curses? Are you sure it doesn't cast curses?
Ellison opened his mouth, wanting to comment. He wondered if they had walked into the wrong place. Was this really a Dark Magic Shop?
"Does it really defend against curses?" Delius furrowed his brow.
"Of course. Who wants to try it out?" Ivan took off the glove and looked at the others, gesturing for them to step forward.
Ellison and the others were hesitant. They had only heard Ivan's description and couldn't rule out the possibility that this was a trap.
"Fine, I'll do it then." Ivan, seeing the three Aurors backing off, rolled his eyes and shrugged, preparing to demonstrate himself.
"Is this thing really as amazing as you say?" At this moment, the incredibly brave Sunny bit her lip and snatched the glove, asking with a puzzled look.
After listening to Ivan for so long, Sunny felt that the Captain was definitely pulling their leg. This place didn't seem like a Dark Magic Shop at all. For example, the bottle of Amortentia looked quite nice.
Sunny examined it closely. Apart from some beautiful patterns on the back of the glove, it seemed no different from an ordinary glove.
Delius opened his mouth to stop her, but by then, Sunny had already put the glove on, and there was no adverse reaction. So Delius could only remain silent, inwardly vowing never to bring new recruits again.
"Who wants to attack me and see if it works?" Sunny asked.
Seeing the situation, Delius gave Ellison a nod, signaling him to step forward. Ellison understood and, holding his wand, stood opposite Sunny.
"How about a Tarantallegra? To be honest, I've never seen you dance, Sunny. It should be quite amusing."
Ellison smiled and, without waiting for Sunny to protest, raised his wand and cast the spell.
"Tarantallegra!"
Sunny was about to curse angrily. Anyone hit by this spell would be forced to perform a ridiculous dance, and she didn't want to embarrass herself here.
However, what Sunny didn't expect was that the seemingly unreliable Spell-Proof Gloves actually worked at this moment. The magical light was instantly deflected back, striking Ellison.
The smile on Ellison's face froze as he felt his body move involuntarily. His feet lightly tiptoed, alternating steps on the ground, making a tap-tap sound.
"Who can help me remove this spell, quickly!" Ellison shouted, on the verge of a breakdown.
Sunny pursed her lips. Just a moment ago, who had wanted to use this spell to embarrass her? She deserved it!
Then, Sunny looked at the glove on her right hand, her face showing shock. She hadn't expected this thing to actually work!
"Finite Incantatum!" Delius waved his Wand, removing the spell from Ellison. He then turned his gaze to the ordinary-looking glove.
As an Elite Auror from the Ministry of Magic, Delius was well aware of what a magical item that could deflect spells represented.
One could say that with this item, one would have a significant advantage in a one-on-one battle.
"How much does this thing cost?" Delius couldn't help but ask, even though he knew he might be in a Dark Magic store.
"Seven Galleons!" Ivan immediately replied.
"So expensive?" Sunny pursed her lips, about to say something, when she heard Delius suddenly say in a trembling voice.
"Is it really that cheap?"
Sunny and Ellison were instantly stunned, looking at their Auror captain with odd expressions. It was the first time they had seen someone complain about a price being too low.
Ivan understood Delius's meaning. If the Spell-Proof Gloves could truly deflect any curse without limit, seven Galleons would be a rock-bottom price.
"The reason it's so cheap is that the Spell-Proof Gloves can only handle low-level curses. If the opponent uses powerful Dark Magic, the glove will immediately be destroyed!" Ivan didn't hide anything, revealing all its flaws.
After all, he was a conscientious merchant and wouldn't intentionally deceive customers, especially when such flaws could be easily discovered with a simple test.
Hearing Ivan's words, Delius felt a wave of disappointment. He had thought it was a truly powerful magical item.
However, Ivan's tone then shifted, becoming enthusiastic.
"But don't worry, we have the latest upgraded version of the Protective ring! Just input Magic Power, and it will release a 360-degree, all-around Magic Barrier, allowing you to handle the most intense battles with ease and easily defeat your opponents!"
Delius's enthusiasm, which had just cooled, instantly flared up again!
What? A 360-degree, all-around Magic Barrier!
Instantly cast!
What does that mean?
If used well, it's almost like having an extra life!
Delius couldn't contain his excitement. He had been an Auror for over a decade, encountering all sorts of dangers and narrowly escaping death several times.
He couldn't help but think, if he had had such a ring back then, would his missions have been less harrowing?
