Chapter 1224: Teaching You How to Fight
Chapter 1224: Teaching You How to Fight
Although some unexpected events had occurred, they did not disrupt Albert's original plan. His habit of keeping some tricks up his sleeve always allowed him to remain calm and collected, even in the face of unforeseen circumstances.
Moreover, the fact that Mrs. Dell was controlled by Voldemort was not entirely disadvantageous to Albert. Sometimes, surprises could lead to new panel quests.
Quests meant experience, and experience meant more possibilities, greater strength, and a heightened sense of security.
After all, the final boss was Voldemort—a notorious Dark Lord whose dangerous presence and role as a task generator and significant source of experience could not be overlooked.
Even though Voldemort had already made significant contributions and sacrifices on his path to growth, Albert would never underestimate his enormous influence. Perhaps, with a little more effort, like squeezing a sponge, he could still extract considerable benefits.
As long as the risks were firmly controlled within a bearable range, everything would turn out in Albert's favor. This was why he was willing to increase Voldemort's enmity towards him.
"Well, dear, I guess I'll be going now."
"Be careful."
Isabelle hugged him gently. Even though she knew Albert was taking a safe route to the headquarters of the "Defense Association," she couldn't help but remind him to be cautious.
"I will. I won't be back for dinner."
Albert kissed Isabelle's forehead, and his phantom form disappeared.
Nowadays, he would go to the headquarters of the Defense Association almost every few days to teach the newly recruited members. He instructed them on self-defense and dark magic defense knowledge, molding them into capable warriors.
Perhaps due to their recent graduation from school, everyone still maintained a high level of enthusiasm for learning, and their progress was much faster than Albert had anticipated.
Especially after learning self-protection techniques from Albert, each individual possessed decent counter-surveillance capabilities. Even Angelina, who often missed gatherings due to Quidditch training, excelled in this aspect. As long as they didn't encounter extremely unfavorable situations, they were confident in their ability to escape within a short period.
This tangible sense of becoming stronger at a visible rate was addictive to many. Even girls who weren't particularly interested in combat didn't want to miss out on such a valuable opportunity.
Once their initiative was sparked, the rest became more straightforward. Albert only needed to provide the right guidance, and in a short time, through systematic education, he could transform them into qualified warriors.
Perhaps they weren't as proficient as the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic, but how many of those elite Aurors were there in the wizarding world?
With the help of his house-elf, Dobby, Albert used the safe house as a springboard and appeared in the abandoned village through his phantom form.
The place had undergone some noticeable changes, and two houses under construction had quietly sprung up in the village.
"I thought you wouldn't be coming by for a few more days," Truman said with a smile as he greeted Albert.
"This house looks a bit ugly."
"Could you please stop being so hurtful?" Truman couldn't help but complain. "It's already impressive that it turned out this well."
"Actually, I suggest you temporarily stay in tents. After the war ends, we can uniformly rebuild them into small villas of the same scale."
"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Kenneth suddenly appeared, seemingly out of nowhere.
"I remember mentioning it before. I said that there was already a plan in place, and we would build them uniformly later. Didn't I tell you about this?" Albert looked at the two men with suspicion.
Kenneth was so angry that he was trembling all over, and he couldn't hold back his anger any longer.
Truman fell silent as he looked at his half-built new home, then suddenly asked, "Are we having a gathering today?"
"Aren't you angry?"
"Wouldn't you want something better in the future?" Truman countered.
"How can you trust this guy?" Kenneth was so furious that he wanted to point accusingly at Albert's nose.
There was nothing he could do about it, especially since his house was almost finished.
"Why would he lie to you?"
Truman shot Kenneth a look as if he were an idiot. Considering the achievements of Fred, George, and Lee Jordan, he didn't think Albert needed to lie to them.
"How did you get here?" Fred asked as he approached.
"Are we having a gathering today?" George added.
"Why didn't you tell me..." Kenneth stormed towards the two of them, fuming.
"It's your own fault for not believing me. I told you to stay in a tent first, but you didn't listen. So, whose fault is it now?"
Fred pushed Kenneth's hand away and said, "Can't you see that we haven't built our own houses yet?"
"Actually, there are some benefits to having a proper house." George smiled reassuringly, "Then you won't have to live in a tent anymore, and this Wizarding War probably won't end that quickly."
Kenneth was so angry that he was trembling all over.
"Should we notify them now?" Cedric asked.
"Yeah, let's call for a gathering!" Albert nodded, "Where's Lee Jordan?"
"He's preparing the script for the Wizarding Watch broadcast." George replied with a smirk, "That guy has really taken a liking to that job lately."
"Let's have a small get-together first, and I'll take a look if there's anything else that needs to be addressed here." Albert intended to take care of things all at once.
"Shana knew you'd be busy, so she already prepared it for you. Just ask her for that file later and you'll know." Fred suddenly said.
"Yeah, she's always so thoughtful."
The Defense Association's gathering was scheduled for 8 p.m., and if they came early enough, they could also have dinner there.
Not long after dinner, most of the members who had joined the association had arrived, even more than Albert had expected.
"What are you going to teach us today?" Elysia asked.
"I'm going to teach you how to fight. It's not just about learning a few spells and randomly throwing them at your opponent." Albert walked towards the shelter wall they had prepared earlier, "It's a skill, and the Dark Arts Defense professor at Hogwarts will never teach you this skill."
He casually picked two people to demonstrate from behind the shelter.
"It's very important to maintain a calm mindset during a battle, because if you're tense, you're more likely to make mistakes." Albert pointed to Fred, who was hiding behind a shelter wall, "You don't need to panic at all, and in most cases, your opponent's spells won't be very accurate when there's cover."
"When two people are facing off and hurling curses at each other, but you're both hiding behind walls, the curses are unlikely to hit you, and missed curses are harmless."
At this point, Albert waved his wand and conjured a rabbit, then he casually called out to someone else, asking them to try and stun the frightened rabbit, but surprisingly, their curses all missed.
"Just like this, you'll be able to move, and it won't be easy for your enemies to take you down in this situation." Albert lightly flicked his wand, and the rabbit immediately fell unconscious, "Of course, if you encounter a formidable opponent, you probably won't stand a chance."
"Fortunately, Death Eaters are mostly mediocre. You think they're dangerous mostly because they know a lot of Dark Magic, and Dark Magic can be extremely harmful."
"Of course, we also have to admit that Death Eaters have more experience in fighting wizards, so they seem more formidable."
"Isn't that the case?"
"In fact, the true skill level of Death Eaters isn't that far ahead of yours." Albert waved his wand and made the rabbit disappear, "This gap can be closed through systematic training in no time."
"What you need to do is to make your wand move according to your will." Albert turned and led the group to a training area, gesturing for them to look at the fixed targets in front of them, "First, you need to practice hitting these stationary targets with your wands. Next, you'll use spells to hit those moving targets that move back and forth regularly, and finally..."
As he spoke, he raised his finger and pointed to the countless paper airplanes floating above their heads, moving in an irregular pattern.
"Use your spells to accurately hit these targets."
After he finished speaking, Albert lightly shook the wand in his hand, and the paper airplanes floating in the sky were shot down one by one.
A burst of enthusiastic applause erupted from the crowd, and no one even noticed how Albert had done it.
"Of course, I don't expect you to be able to do this, but I still want to emphasize that you should make your wand an extension of your arm and finger, so that you can hit your target more accurately. Because most of the time, your enemy won't just stand there and exchange spells with you like a fool."
"Most wizard duels should be more like a standoff." Someone suddenly raised their hand and said, "It's rare for wizards to actually hide behind cover and throw spells at each other..."
"So, do you plan to duel with Death Eaters?
Albert countered, "Are you saying that's not true?"
"If you expect the despicable Death Eaters to engage in a fair duel with you, then you're certainly not far from death." Albert raised his hand, gesturing for the other to wait for him to finish before rebutting, "If you understand the deeds of the Death Eaters, you'll find that they are not as noble as you think, and they don't deserve such noble treatment."
"Death Eaters prefer ambushes and underhanded means. Don't forget, that group of guys will stop at nothing to achieve their goals." Albert looked at the Hufflepuff graduate who was about to speak, and said calmly, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Cedric or Truman. I think they will tell you how they were ambushed by the Dark wizard."
"Indeed, those despicable people not only ambushed me but also ganged up on me with a group of people. Otherwise, how could I have been captured?" Cedric reminded him kindly, "It's best not to have any expectations of Death Eaters; otherwise, if you die, you deserve it."
"Sorry, I didn't expect them to be so despicable," the man said to Albert.
"Later, I will teach you how to duel face-to-face, but for now, there is still a lot for you to learn." Albert pointed to the two shelter walls and continued, "When both of you are hiding behind cover, how do you break the stalemate?"
As he spoke, Albert's eyes scanned the crowd, pausing briefly on Fred and the others, but no one stepped forward to answer the question.
"Okay, then I'll just say it. You can consider tampering with the shelter." Albert waved his wand and cast a Transfiguration spell on the wall, causing several sharp spikes to suddenly protrude from the originally plain wall, "If the enemy doesn't pay attention, I think this will give them an unexpected surprise. Of course, the Transfiguration spell is quite difficult, but using it at the right time can help turn the tide of battle in your favor."
"If you're good at Apparition, you can also use it to Apparate behind your enemy and launch a surprise attack. This is also the main reason why I think you should master Apparition well. Using it in combat or escape can give you a significant advantage." Albert continued, "Of course, Apparition is prohibited here, so I can't demonstrate it for you."
"Is there an easier way?" Elyria raised her hand and asked, feeling that the two methods Albert mentioned were unreliable and too difficult for ordinary wizards to achieve.
She knew she couldn't do it herself.
"You can also use external forces, for example, if there's something next to your enemy, you can make it smash into them."
As he spoke, Albert waved his wand, and a force pulled on an armchair, causing it to smash into the wall with a loud bang.
"You can even throw something at your opponent or use the Smoke Spell to obscure their vision." Albert waved his wand, causing white smoke to engulf the shelter wall, "This way, your enemy can't see their target, reducing the probability of being hit by a curse, and you can use this opportunity to retreat."
"What would you do if you were me?" Angelina asked curiously.
"I'd blast them with an Exploding Spell."
Albert waved his wand, dispelling the smoke, and then gave the group another demonstration.
A small fireball landed on the ground and then bounced off at a very tricky angle. Suddenly, there was a loud bang, and the shelter wall collapsed.
The group stared dumbfounded at the collapsed wall, unable to understand how the Exploding Spell had ricocheted like that.
"Battles always require quick thinking and experience. Even some very ordinary spells can sometimes produce extraordinary effects."
Albert walked to the other shelter wall and tapped it with his wand. To everyone's astonishment, he walked straight through it as if it weren't there.
"I'm sharing these insights with you to broaden your horizons and encourage you to be flexible in your thinking, especially when your opponent is more skilled than you, and your spells are ineffective against them. This knowledge can help you escape more easily right under their noses."
"I want to emphasize once again that it is absolutely irrational to engage in a head-on clash with your enemy, especially when your opponent can counter or suppress your spells, indicating a significant gap in skill. When victory seems unlikely, you should..."
After Albert's lecture, everyone realized that a Duelling Champion was gradually imparting his battle strategies and experiences to them.
