Chapter 1221: We Will Fight to the Death Without Retreating!!!
On a massive island closest to Wano Country, one could clearly see the thunderous waterfall cascading before Wano Country from a distance.
Along the island’s coastline, dozens of ships were anchored—nearly thirty in total. These were not large warships but small vessels, each built to carry roughly two hundred men.
Thirty ships meant a massive number of troops.
All thirty pirate ships bore the same skull flag adorned with musical notes and headphones, marking them as part of the same pirate crew.
On the island itself, approximately six thousand individuals stood stationed. They wore identical sleek uniforms with round collars, their chests marked by musical note insignias. They stood rigidly in formation.
Before them, a hardened man stood equally erect, facing the troops.
"Wano Country is within reach!"
The hardened man swept his gaze across the crowd before suddenly roaring, "That is our Promised Land—the perfect place for our Ideal Village to flourish!"
At his words, the pirates swelled their chests, eyes burning with fanaticism.
"Perhaps we will face resistance in Wano Country. Those people will not fight for others’ happiness—they only care for themselves. Against such people, we must show no mercy!"
"They may be strong. We may suffer losses. But do you fear this?!"
"NO!!!"
Thousands roared in unison, their expressions resolute. Their eyes gleamed with an indescribable mix of longing and fervor.
The hardened man nodded in satisfaction. He clenched his fist, his voice trembling with excitement. "That’s right—we fear nothing! Everything is for the Ideal Village, for the happiness of the world! Let the Ideal Village spread across the Grand Line! Whether others understand or not, we are righteous, for we will bring happiness to all!"
"Yes!!!" The crowd erupted again.
As the cheers rose, the man turned toward the Grand Line. He stared at the horizon for a long moment before spotting something. A smirk curled his lips.
"Just as Constance said—they truly came. But I disagree with Constance’s claim that we should merely hold them off. I will annihilate them!"
He raised his hand, gently caressing the headphones on his head like a cherished treasure. He murmured, "Officer of the Red, watch closely—I will prove myself to you."
Ahead, on the Grand Line, four colossal warships surged forward, their silhouettes gradually coming into view for those on the island.
The hardened man tightened his fist, bellowing, "Prepare for battle! Annihilate these wicked World Government lapdogs!"
At the same time, the warships’ crew spotted the island’s massive pirate force and the cluster of pirate ships anchored nearby.
"Is that…"
Wilbur lowered his telescope, his expression darkening. "There are so many of them! And that’s the ‘Fierce Fist’… He vanished six years ago. Why is he here now? And that flag—this pirate crew’s insignia is unfamiliar. Is that their ‘Ideal Village’?"
Kas frowned beside him. "Fierce Fist?"
Wilbur nodded. "Yes, ‘Fierce Fist’ Yin Lawa. You might not have heard of him in the East Blue, but he was once renowned in the Grand Line. He entered the New World via the Sabaody Archipelago long ago, but disappeared after gaining brief fame."
Yin Lawa, the ‘Fierce Fist,’ was a legendary pirate Wilbur had heard of during his time stationed at Sabaody. A ‘Super Nova’ with a bounty of 230 million Berries. After breaking into the New World, he briefly rose to prominence before vanishing without a trace.
Six years ago…
Kas pondered. Kuro Mr. entered the Grand Line four years ago, but back then, he was merely a Sergeant under Kuro Mr.’s command, patrolling the East Blue. He hadn’t yet grasped the true meaning of Justice. To him, the Grand Line was a mysterious legend in those days.
But that wasn’t the point now.
Kas raised his telescope, narrowing his eyes at the island. "Wilbur, do you notice something off? Their formation is too rigid—it doesn’t look like typical pirates."
Pirates in the Grand Line were chaotic by nature, valuing freedom above all. Each fought with their own wild style, unlike the disciplined formations of the Navy or Kingdom soldiers. Yet these pirates stood in perfect, orderly ranks.
Wilbur raised his telescope again. He had been too shocked earlier by the reappearance of a long-lost pirate to notice. Kas’s observational skills were truly superior.
Wilbur had never managed to grasp the depth of Justice that Kas, the one who understood Kuro Mr.’s teachings best, had mastered.
"Hmm?"
Through the lens, he saw Yin Lawa smirking at them, his expression openly provocative. Then, the pirate raised his hand, tapping a finger on the ground and tilting his chin upward.
The message was clear: Come here. Let’s decide victory in battle.
Wilbur lowered his telescope, his voice grim. "He’s deliberately waiting for us. What does he want?"
"Doesn’t matter what he wants."
Kas exhaled a thick breath, his beard trembling in the wind. "We won’t be afraid. If he wants a fight, we’ll give him one! Better to settle this in one battle than chase them down piece by piece!"
A smirk tugged at Wilbur’s lips. "Exactly, Kas. Let’s fight together again!"
Clang!
Kas unsheathed his saber, pointing it skyward. Strands of white energy erupted from his body, like mist rising over the Grand Line, swiftly enveloping the four warships.
Four warships. Three thousand men.
Upon learning of the approaching ‘Ideal Village,’ and knowing Kuzan was occupied holding off the Pirate Alliance on the other side, Kas and Wilbur had swiftly descended from Wano Country with their forces.
The troops they brought were the ‘Dougleg Navy Unit,’ trained from among the Dressrosa natives. They had been used for minor skirmishes until now, but today, they would finally be tested.
"Everyone!!"
Kas’s voice boomed through the mist, reaching the seemingly rigid Navy ranks. The Dougleg Navy Unit’s members twitched their ears, their expressions finally shifting from blankness to determination.
"The enemy outnumbers us two to one. We know neither their strength nor their origins—everything is unknown. We may suffer losses. We may even fail. But will you fear them?!"
"NO!!!" The Navy roared in unison, their voices shaking the decks.
"Exactly—fear is not in our hearts! We are people who fight for a noble cause! We are not puppets or soulless artificial beings. Our lives have meaning! Before this meaningful cause, wickedness may destroy our physical bodies, but it will never break our spirits or our Justice!"
"The Four Emperors have fallen! We have already taken a great step toward Justice! On this path, we will not collapse easily! For the hope of a world where we can live freely, for the safety of all who share our ideals—comrades!"
Kas bared his teeth, his body shrouded in white energy, his face twisted into a fearsome visage.
...
"The lapdogs are here!"
Yin Lawa’s voice thundered as the warships drew closer, his neck veins bulging. "They are the criminals blocking our path to the Ideal Village! To bring happiness to the world, to honor the name of the Ideal Village—we—"
"WE Will Fight TO The Death!!!" The pirates roared in fanatical unison.
...
Almost simultaneously, Kas’s voice rang out from the warships:
"Behind us lies our noble cause! In the name of ‘Persistent Justice,’ we swear to become the shield of hope, the wall of Justice, the safety of the people! The first mountain the enemy must overcome in their quest to trample our ideals—we—"
"WE Will Fight TO The Death Without Retreating!!!"
The four warships erupted in a unified battle cry.
