Chapter 122: Chaos
Chapter 122: Chaos
When the Wu Yi students saw Director Liu and the Member of Parliament being shot, they were also shocked and their first reaction was to locate the gunman or find a hidden place to take cover.
As their attention was focused outside, they never expected the Maka students to rush out, and they couldn't understand what was happening, although they had some suspicions. Most of them chose to stay out of the way until they knew the specific situation.
The moment the gunshots rang out, Chen Chuan turned to look for the gunman. But at that moment, a figure suddenly flashed, and Qiu Chengzu, who was not far from him, charged towards Chen Chuan ferociously.
Chen Chuan simply reached out to block him, and before Qiu Chengzu could understand what was happening, he stumbled and fell back, hearing a voice in his ear say, "Now is not the time for sparring."
At this moment, the security team inside the venue also sprang into action. Their first reaction was not to intercept the Maka people but to rush forward to protect the Member of Parliament and other Government Hall officials.
Without a clear order, the Maka people were still considered VIPs, and even if they had suspicions, they wouldn't cause trouble. So, this group easily rushed out.
However, because everything happened so quickly and the distance was relatively far, the onlookers at the back hadn't realized what was going on, and the crowd was still blocking the way, which ironically became a barrier.
Just then, another series of gunshots rang out from behind, and many people were hit and fell to the ground. The crowd finally reacted, and cries and screams of panic spread, as people fled in all directions, adding to the chaos with the spreading smoke.
Chen Chuan's gaze intensified as he followed the sound of the gunshots. He saw a man wearing sunglasses firing the gun, and behind him stood several expressionless individuals. A little further away, several two-wheeled motorbikes were parked, heading in the direction where Duoma had run, obviously leading to their location.
He brushed aside another rushing Maka student and quickly walked towards them.
Not far away, Zhuang Zhi saw Chen Chuan chasing after them, and his eyes flashed. With a powerful separation force, he unceremoniously knocked down two Maka students who were approaching, and followed after Chen Chuan.
Chen Chuan started with a quick walk, but as his pace quickened, his speed gradually increased. In just a breath or two, he had already caught up with the group of fleeing Maka people. Someone tried to stop him, but he was easily brushed aside and fell to the side, as if he had merely flicked away a few insects.
Nali and Shani had been following Duoma, clearing the way for him. Nali was fine, knowing to hold back, but Shani rudely shoved aside anyone in his path, not caring if they could withstand the force.
Now, seeing that the students behind couldn't stop Chen Chuan, they immediately turned back to block him.
Shani, with a more irritable temperament, rushed ahead, using his momentum to store power in his body. He then emitted a humming sound from his nose and kicked towards Chen Chuan's face.
Chen Chuan casually punched, and Shani's leg broke, and he was sent flying backward by a powerful force, landing on the side of the road.
Nali, witnessing this, felt a chill down his spine, knowing he was no match for this man. He didn't care about himself and charged forward, colliding with Chen Chuan to stop him.
Chen Chuan remained calm, with no intention of engaging. He sidestepped, and his speed suddenly increased, brushing past Nali like an arrow leaving the bow, shooting forward.
Nali ran for over ten steps before stopping, and at that moment, he saw two Wu Yi students pass by his side. He hurriedly turned and chased after them.
Duoma was running forward but was also aware of the situation behind him. Seeing that Nali and Shani were ineffective against Chen Chuan, he frowned, puzzled by the significant gap between the Maka students and the Wu Yi students. Was the difference really this huge?
He didn't dare turn his back on such an enemy, so he stopped and turned to face them, preparing for battle.
However, the anticipated attack never came. Chen Chuan didn't even glance at Duoma; he simply glided past him, his eyes fixed on the gunman who had fired the shots earlier.
Duoma was taken aback. Just as he was about to walk away, a figure flashed behind him, and Zhuang Zhi rushed forward. With a slight tap of his foot, he leaped and kneed Duoma in the chest.
Duoma shook his head and took a half-step forward to avoid the direct hit. He then used his shoulder and arm to block Zhuang Zhi's knee, but Zhuang Zhi felt like he had collided with a sturdy rope.
Before Duoma could react, the muscles on his back and arms suddenly tensed, like a bowstring being drawn and released, propelling him backward. He tumbled on the ground, rolling several times before stabilizing his body.
Although Duoma wasn't seriously injured, he looked at Duoma with lingering fear, realizing the vast gap between their abilities. He suddenly felt like retreating, but just then, he sensed something amiss and dodged a strike from behind, Nali's attack after seeing Duoma's move.
Zhuang Zhi had already gotten up nimbly and saw that the attacker was Nali. He let out a cold laugh, thinking that if he couldn't handle Duoma, how could he handle Nali?
Chen Chuan had already rushed towards the gunman, who was not far away. The gunman hurriedly raised his gun to aim, but his movements were too quick. His steps shifted left and right, causing the gun to sway continuously, making it impossible to find an opportunity to shoot. By the time he realized something was amiss, Chen Chuan had already closed the distance and was right in front of him.
The gunman clenched his teeth and hastily pulled the trigger. Chen Chuan, however, bent forward and simultaneously lifted his hand to support the gunman's elbow. With a loud 'Bang,' the gunman's arms broke, and the pistol flew into the air. Chen Chuan then leaned his shoulder forward, and with a loud thud, the gunman was sent flying backward, colliding with a middle-aged man who was just walking up from behind.
The middle-aged man had a steady gait and sharp eyes. He reached out, pressing and pushing, and effortlessly neutralized the gunman's strength. With one hand, he placed the gunman on the ground and then twisted his neck, his expression turning cold as he quickly approached Chen Chuan.
Chen Chuan stretched out his hand, catching the falling pistol and instantly raising its muzzle. The middle-aged man's cold expression faltered, and he hastily ducked to the side to dodge.
Chen Chuan shifted the gun's muzzle and fired several shots at the building beside him, causing bricks to shatter and fly in all directions. The man who was crouching there, aiming a rifle at Chen Chuan, quickly ducked.
Seeing Chen Chuan shift his aim, the middle-aged man seized the opportunity and rushed forward. When he was close enough, he lifted his foot to kick at Chen Chuan's head. But Chen Chuan ignored the attack, spreading his fingers and clenching them into a fist. As he discarded the pistol, he spun and punched directly at the middle-aged man's midsection.
The middle-aged man, seeing Chen Chuan's willingness to engage in a mutually destructive clash, furrowed his brows. He lifted his foot and stomped down, causing a loud thud. Simultaneously, he twisted his waist and spun, exhaling with a 'Hey.' He met Chen Chuan's oncoming punch with one of his own.
There was a loud 'Bang,' as if two steel hammers had collided. Their fists met in an instant, and almost simultaneously, the pavement beneath their feet cracked with a series of 'Kaka' sounds.
Both men maintained their punching stance for a moment. Then, the middle-aged man's face suddenly flushed red, and his entire body emitted a series of cracking sounds as if his bones were shattering. He collapsed like soft mud, his body contorted, and Chen Chuan's punch had shattered most of his bones.
Chen Chuan's gaze shifted to the side, as if noticing something. He turned his head slightly, and something brushed past his cheek. A loud 'Bang' sounded, and the tree trunk nearby exploded, revealing a new bullet hole.
Chen Chuan quickly moved his feet, and bullets rained down from above, causing the surrounding branches and leaves to sway and debris to scatter on the ground.
On the rooftop of a nearby building, the gunman fired a few more shots before sensing a strong gust of wind from behind. As he turned to shift his aim, a hand grabbed the top of his head, and with a deft twist, his neck snapped with a 'Crack.'
Luo Kaiyuan pushed the man's head to the side, moving the body out of the way. He then took the rifle from the man's hands, aimed it downwards, and hesitated.
But then he thought of something, paused, and with a knee strike, he broke the rifle in half and tossed it aside. He pressed down with his hand, and with a sideways leap, he jumped off the four-story building. He briefly grabbed the edge, and after landing, he rolled to dissipate the impact. He then got up and rushed forward.
Meanwhile, Chen Chuan, while dodging, picked up the discarded pistol and fired several shots at the people near the two-wheeled vehicle. They scattered in all directions.
Duoma had been running towards these vehicles, but seeing them disperse, he reluctantly stopped. He couldn't drive them, and as he paused, a figure rushed towards him from behind, punching and shouting a crisp command.
Duoma recognized the voice as a young woman's, possibly a female student. He shook his head, dodged the incoming punch, and grabbed her slender wrist. With a swing, he flung her to the ground, and a loud 'Bang' sounded as the ground beneath her shattered.
Duoma thought this would be enough to incapacitate the female student, but she seemed unaffected, almost as if she hadn't paused. She quickly lifted her legs to kick again, and as Duoma swung his arm outward, he threw her far away.
The female student landed on the side of the road, rolled a few times, and then pushed herself up. Aside from some wear on her clothes and a bit of dust, she appeared unharmed.
Chen Chuan recognized her as Guan Xinyin, but he had seen clearly that neither she nor Zhuang Zhi had shown any mercy. If they had, the two of them would have been seriously injured or even killed, which might have been due to the sensitivity of the relationship between their countries.
If this person had only taken the oak leaf and the situation was unclear, Chen Chuan wouldn't have needed to chase after him. But these Makar people had colluded with unknown forces, and in the process, they had killed and injured many innocent bystanders. There had to be a reckoning; they couldn't be let go so easily.
Looking at Duoma, Chen Chuan said, "Duoma Teacher, you're not getting away."
Duoma shook his head. He threw the box containing the oak leaf to a nearby student, signaling for them to leave. Then, he tore off his shirt, revealing a bronze-skinned, muscular body with well-defined lines. In a deep voice, he said, "I remember you also studied my Essence Pulse Studies. So, I'll teach you another lesson right here."
