Chapter 1207: Execution, Begin
Chapter 1207: Execution, Begin
Kuzan took a sip of alcohol and said, "Oh, I caught a few people on the way here. Brought them over for you. Don't know if they're useful."
"Huh? Catch people? Who could you possibly catch in Wano Country?" Kuro asked.
"Not sure either, but since there's Izou involved, I figured I'd bring them over", Kuzan replied casually.
"Izou?"
Kuro's expression froze. If his memory served right, Izou was one of the Red Scabbards Samurai.
If Kuzan captured him, that meant the entire group of Red Scabbards Samurai had been apprehended as well.
"Hmph. That bunch isn't important. Whether they're captured or not makes no difference. At least we can control some influence now", Kuro mused before speaking aloud.
Wano Country's uprising was spearheaded by those Red Scabbards Samurai Kuro imprisoned, but the civilians knew nothing about it. That's why Kuro didn't care.
Still, capturing them was better than leaving them loose. No need to worry about riots later.
"Hohohoho, so you captured those so-called Red Scabbards Samurai? Then did you get Oden's brat too? That guy has my blood in him, Kuro. Kill him. He'll cause you trouble", Kaido grinned maliciously.
"Do I look like someone who craves bloodshed that much?"
Kuro rolled his eyes, stood up, and told Kuzan, "You watch him. I'm going out for a meal."
He'd been cooped up here for days without wandering freely. Though Lida occasionally came to weaken Kaido, who could gamble on such unpredictability? If Kaido suddenly burst free, things would get messy. Now that Kuzan had arrived, the timing was perfect.
"What a hassle. Did you come here just to make me work?" Kuzan quipped. "I'm not Navy anymore, you know. What if I let Kaido escape?"
"You're welcome to try."
Kuro smirked, then ignored Kuzan and strode outside.
As he descended, Klah at the third level stared at the newly captured Red Scabbards Samurai through his glasses, pushing them up slightly. "Interesting. They managed to escape, only to get captured again."
Momonosuke, bound tightly with ropes, shouted at Klah, "Hey! Let us go!"
Klah ignored him and addressed the two Pelt Clan members. "Zou, do you stand with Wano Country or with Kozuki?"
"We've been retainers of the Kozuki family for generations!" Canine Storm and Nekomamushi roared together. "We'll never surrender!"
"Pity."
Klah shook his head. "But the Pelt Clan's future shouldn't be decided by you two. And for now, I don't plan to deal with you."
He'd already sent word to Kas. Let Kas handle it.
As for Momonosuke—
Heir to the Kozuki family, Oden's son. By legal theory, he qualified as the Daimyo of Kuri. After Kurozumi Orochi's failure, without their breakthrough, he would've become Shogun. Now, though? Uncertain.
Still, keeping him around had its uses. If Kurozumi Orochi proved unmanageable, this Momonosuke could be utilized instead.
For Kuro's ambitions, no tool was off-limits.
Whether he agreed or not...
Klah glanced at the Red Scabbards Samurai and the stunning green-haired beauty among them.
Sometimes, being ruthless was acceptable. Kuro might refuse such methods, but Klah certainly wouldn't.
After all, he was born a pirate—honor, righteousness, and shame meant nothing to him.
But this matter required Kas's arrival. The Crimson Spider Clan would plot carefully.
...
A few days later.
At the Carp Falls beneath Wano Country, nine ships anchored.
The fleet was a chaotic mix—four Warships and five Pirate Ships of varying designs.
One bore Crocodile's golden crocodile emblem at its prow.
Another featured two serpents as mounts—Boa Hancock's vessel.
A third displayed an octopus tentacle insignia, belonging to Joe Rudolph.
A steam-powered ship belched thick white vapor—Sam William's.
Yet another decorated with a circus theme—Buggy's.
These were the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Among them, Dracule Mihawk, known as "Hawk-Eye", arrived directly aboard a Warship.
Surrounding the Pirate Ships, the four Warships circled them—whether escorting or escorting prisoners remained unclear.
Aboard the lead Warship, Kas looked up at the towering falls where carp leaped and murmured, "We've arrived."
"Turn the ships. We'll go around back through the hidden harbor", Wilbur commanded.
Wano Country's entrance had two paths—either ascend the falls' face or split the falls from behind and enter through the concealed port.
With Kuro in control, naturally, they'd take the alternative route.
Boa Hancock, her legs exposed to the thigh roots beneath her open-chested attire, bit her thumb anxiously staring at the falls. "Luffy..."
She knew Luffy had broken through Wano Country, but with Kuro now inside, Luffy must've escaped.
But his injuries—was he alright? Defeating Kaido had cost them dearly, yet no news had spread across the world. All thanks to that man.
But it was only natural.
Because that man was the Golden Lion. Because he had the qualifications.
"Tch, finally here", Crocodile muttered, cigar in mouth, eyes on the falls. "Wano Country. Brings back memories."
In his youth, he'd visited Wano, but this land had always been Kaido's domain. Never expected it to change hands.
"Whoa, what a massive waterfall!" Buggy's eyes bulged as he stared. "This is Oden's hometown? Amazing."
Oddly, Buggy knew Oden best—after all, they'd once been comrades.
Aboard a Warship, Dracule Mihawk raised his gaze. His hat shadowed his eyes, revealing only a sliver in the light. He smirked faintly. "Hmm."
...
In a fifth-level room at Flower Capital's Castle Tower, Kuro sat cross-legged on a cushion. A small table before him bore exquisite dishes, which he ate slowly. Outside, many waited.
He placed the final crispy tempura piece in his mouth, set down his chopsticks, lit a cigar, and glanced at Klah waiting outside. "Everyone here?"
Klah nodded.
"Did you notify all of Wano Country?"
"Yes, Mr. Kuro. They've been gathering in Flower Capital for days."
For days, Moer had spread news of Kaido's execution across Wano Country, drawing spectators to Flower Capital.
"Good. Stop spreading further notices, then bring Kaido out."
Kuro exhaled a smoke ring, stood slowly. "Execution. Begin."
