The real card version of this card is surprisingly stronger than its anime counterpart. In the anime, the summoned monster would have its effects negated and lose its Attack. However, in the real card, these drawbacks are removed, retaining the Attack and the effects.
Of course, from a modern perspective, Shadow Pulse can only be activated when a Synchro Monster is destroyed, making it relatively inefficient. Additionally, the summoned monster must have the same Level and Race as the destroyed one, which isn't too powerful, so there's no need for additional restrictions.

The Trap Card activated, and a transparent wave of energy spread across the field, sweeping over Youxuan's side as if imposing an invisible restraint.
