Chapter 1203: Harry's Advantage
Chapter 1203: Harry's Advantage
At a London airport a few days later, a young couple gazed up at the fading plane in the sunset sky.
"It's finally over," Albert sighed in relief. After a few hectic days, he had successfully seen Hermione's family off on their flight to Sydney.
Of course, his help hadn't been entirely altruistic; he had also completed a Panel task and been generously rewarded.
Voldemort was truly a treasure, always bringing him unexpected surprises.
Although they had encountered some troubles along the way, dealing with Voldemort was not something Albert feared. He remained cautious, knowing that the Dark Wizard was not an opponent to be taken lightly.
"They're gone," Hermione said, her eyes welling up with tears as she leaned her head gently on Albert's shoulder. "I'm sorry, I can't help but feel emotional."
"Don't worry, you'll see them again soon. Just think of it as them going on an extended vacation," Albert whispered reassuringly. "My family is in a similar situation, and we keep in touch through occasional phone calls."
"Do you really think we can win?"
Hermione looked up at Albert with hopeful eyes. As Harry's close friend, she knew him better than most, and sometimes she wondered where Albert and Dumbledore found their unwavering faith in Harry's ability to defeat the mysterious wizard.
Especially after the recent incident, she could no longer suppress her fears and worries about the future.
If not for Albert's quick thinking and caution, her family might have been innocently harmed by those evil Death Eaters.
Hermione knew it wasn't Albert's fault; as Harry's friends, they were naturally targets for Voldemort's followers.
From the beginning, she had known there was no turning back. Like Ron, everyone knew they were Harry's allies, and there was no way the mysterious wizard would easily let them off the hook.
"Of course, we will win, and you should have faith in Harry," Albert said, pulling out a handkerchief from his pocket and offering it to Hermione. "Now, let's not keep them waiting any longer. It's not safe to linger here. We should return to Hogwarts soon."
"I don't know where you get your confidence," Hermione said, her lips quivering slightly as she finally let out a helpless smile. "To be honest, I think you have a better chance of defeating the mysterious wizard than Harry. I've spent a lot of time with him, and I know his true capabilities."
"To be frank, I don't see much hope either," Albert admitted. "I believe the members of the Order of the Phoenix are aware of this as well. Even if Dumbledore believes in Harry, the reality is harsh. The gap between Harry and the mysterious wizard is overwhelming."
"No, Harry has his advantages," Albert whispered.
"What advantages?" Hermione wondered what made Albert and Dumbledore so confident in Harry. Was it because Harry had faced Voldemort multiple times and survived?
"Harry has courage and reason on his side," Albert explained as he escorted Hermione away from the airport. They needed to meet with Kingsley, and Hermione wanted to express her gratitude to him and the other members of the Order for their help during the past few days.
"Harry is also not strong enough to draw the attention of the mysterious wizard. That means he will be underestimated and overlooked, and that creates opportunities," Albert continued. "If even we don't show faith in Harry, the mysterious wizard will have no reason to take him seriously. So, for certain tasks, Harry is a more suitable candidate than any of us. He's less likely to arouse the wizard's suspicion, and that's crucial—very crucial." Albert emphasized his point by repeating himself.
"I..." Hermione was perplexed, unable to understand how these could be considered advantages.
"You'll understand in time," Albert said mysteriously.
"Can't you just tell me?" Hermione was frustrated. The sadness of parting with her family had lessened, but she furrowed her brows as she tried to decipher Albert's words, soon understanding his meaning.
Regarding the search for Horcruxes, Harry, who was out of the spotlight, actually had an advantage.
"It's pretty much as you guessed. Just remember not to go blabbing about it." Albert reminded her.
Hermione widened her eyes. "You really know?"
"Of course." Albert said matter-of-factly, "Trying to destroy the mysterious wizard solely by force is not going to be easy. That guy is dangerous, more powerful than most wizards. Perhaps only someone as experienced and fearless as Dumbledore stands a chance of defeating him, and even if we could, it's not the outcome we want."
"So even you can't do it?" Hermione was surprised. In her opinion, Albert was definitely on par with Dumbledore, and with the two of them working together, plus Albert's ability as a prophecy master, destroying Voldemort's Horcruxes should be a breeze. Yet, they were entrusting the task to Harry instead.
This was indeed unusual, even considering the fear that Voldemort might discover someone was trying to destroy his Horcruxes.
"It's difficult, and we can't afford to take the risk, so we have to use alternative methods to defeat him," Albert said, tapping his finger on his head, "Battles are not just about brute force, but also a contest of wits, and coincidentally, the mysterious wizard has shown a lack of wisdom in certain matters." He smiled, "This is also a side effect of purebloods intermarrying—they tend to be more violent and favor simple solutions to problems because they are quicker, more efficient, and effective."
"Thank you. You're always so considerate." Hermione finally shook off the negative emotions of parting with her family and began to inquire about what Albert had mentioned.
"Dumbledore is undoubtedly a wise old man. I believe he must have a better way to deal with the mysterious wizard." Albert glanced at the approaching figures and reminded Hermione, "They're here."
Kingsley, Sirius, and Lupin were walking towards them.
"Thanks for all your help these past few days."
Hermione expressed her gratitude to the trio. Recently, they had been helping her relocate her family, and if not for the assistance of the Order, she wouldn't know what to do.
"Don't mention it, Hermione." Kingsley gestured for her not to worry and turned to Albert, "There's some bad news. Someone burned down your original home. I suspect it was done out of anger."
"Who did it?" Albert asked, his casual tone suggesting he didn't care much about the matter.
"We can't confirm the identity of the Death Eater yet," Kingsley shook his head, "But it must be one of them."
"Looks like he's really angry. I didn't think he'd go this far." Albert said sarcastically.
"I don't think the probability of that is high. Most likely, a Death Eater did it to curry favor with him." Kingsley didn't believe Voldemort would bother with such a petty act.
Of course, Voldemort would be blamed for it anyway.
"I knew this day would come." Albert wasn't surprised by the news. Instead, he turned to Hermione and said, "I'll take you back to school."
"Do you know something?"
After Albert sent Hermione back to Hogwarts, Sirius tilted his head towards Kingsley, noticing that he seemed relieved.
"I'm not sure either, but it's probably related to the prophecy." Kingsley indicated that they shouldn't discuss this matter further in the open.
"Prophecy?" Sirius muttered.
"I can never understand those seers." Sirius ran his hand through his hair, deciding not to dwell on the matter further, as it was beyond his comprehension.
