Chapter 12: The Warrior Class Change Certificate - The Frenzied Blood Warrior Training Manual
Chapter 12: The Warrior Class Change Certificate - The Frenzied Blood Warrior Training Manual
After returning to the Mage Tower, Qin Muye took advantage of the daylight to construct 20 farms and 5 sprite workshops.
This construction cost him 200 units of food, 250 units of wood, and 250 units of minerals. The food was no issue, as the river beside his Mage Tower provided a steady supply of fresh water. However, wood and minerals were more scarce. Despite slaying numerous wild creatures, he had only accumulated a little over 1,500 units of these resources, which was roughly half of what he needed.
He had initially planned to build 10 sprite workshops, but he would have to wait for more resources.
Once the farms were complete, Qin Muye distributed all the seeds to the sprites for planting. He had gathered quite a few seeds on his journey, which would be crucial for sustaining a large army. Relying solely on slaying wild creatures would not be enough to support a growing force. For now, his army was small, but what about the future?
Food was essential, and agriculture needed to keep up. More importantly, the seeds were not one-time use. When harvested, they would yield both food and additional seeds, creating a sustainable cycle that would increase his seed stock.
Next, Qin Muye constructed a lumber mill, which turned out to be just as important as the farms.
Lumber Mill
- Each unit of troops stationed here can produce 10 units of wood per day, with a limit of 10 units (0/10)
- Expansion: 100 units of wood and 10 units of any special resource
By stationing 10 sprites in the lumber mill, he could produce 100 units of wood daily, which was a significant boost.
Following the lumber mill, he built a training ground, which required 100 units of stone and 50 units of wood. Fortunately, he had enough resources.
Training Ground
- Ordinary troops can enter here for training, evolving into elite troops after one week
- Current capacity: Ordinary troops 0/100, Heroes 0/1
- Expansion: 1,000 units of stone
The training ground was a crucial building for the long term, or perhaps it was the most fundamental structures that were the most important.
A week to evolve into an elite troop seemed long, especially since the beginner phase was only 7 days, but the real value lay in the potential for heroes to train there.
For example, the skeleton training ground Qin Muye had previously cleared was likely under the command of a warrior hero, which is why the skeleton soldiers evolved into skeleton warriors. If the hero were an archer or a mage, the skeletons would have evolved into skeleton archers or skeleton mages, respectively.
Without a hero, the troops would likely remain in their original form, just with an "elite" designation.
After arranging all these matters, Qin Muye breathed a sigh of relief and returned to the Mage Tower. While waiting for the buildings to complete, he took out the warrior class change certificate.
The Frenzied Blood Warrior Training Manual
This was the name of the certificate, and Qin Muye began to read it.
The book was divided into two parts. The majority of it covered standard warrior training, focusing on the generation and application of magic. Yes, warriors use magic, as do archers, knights, and other hero units. After all, this world is called the Magic Continent for a reason.
The first half was fairly conventional, detailing the most common training methods. However, the key was a secret technique called "Frenzied Blood Rage," which temporarily increased strength by burning one's blood.
Thus, they are called Bloodthirsty Warriors. The training manual outlines two methods to become a hero: the first is through regular training, while the second is through the ferocious and berserk path to become the rare Bloodthirsty Warrior.
'Hmph, it seems the Wisdom Tree has gathered a lot of information about the lords.'
Qin Muye knew he couldn't underestimate anyone. Other lords might use someone in his situation as a disposable pawn, but Qin Muye was different. He didn't follow the conventional path.
'The Wisdom Tree is confident that the Champion-level Goblin will become a rare Bloodthirsty Warrior because the job change voucher, combined with the Champion level, will result in a rare profession. More importantly, the Champion-level Goblin's Bloodbath skill aligns perfectly with the Bloodthirsty Warrior's berserk nature.'
'So, this job change voucher is definitely carefully selected, not just randomly assigned.'
Qin Muye didn't know what the Wisdom Tree was plotting, but as long as it didn't affect him, he didn't care. He knew that clearing out a single Skeleton Training Ground couldn't possibly yield such a high reward. There's no such thing as a free lunch.
Unfortunately, the Champion-level Goblin has a limited lifespan. Otherwise, Qin Muye could have tried to bypass the Warrior job change voucher and transform it into a hero using the Bloodthirsty Warrior's berserk nature.
This brings up the topic of the Magic Eye spell. This Source Magic, when used by a lord, only increases vision by one point. However, if he uses it himself, by attaching the magic to his eyes through patterns and nodes, he can see the flow of elements and magic in the world, even though it doesn't increase vision. More importantly, it can last indefinitely, consuming only one point of magic per hour. This is a significant improvement over the middleman's version.
This world isn't limited to the four elements of earth, air, fire, and wind. There are also elements like life, death, darkness, and source. For example, his meditation technique and the Magic Eye spell both originate from the four elements but are transformed into Source Magic, sharing the same lineage.
With the Magic Eye, Qin Muye's magical transformation of the Goblins will be much smoother. If he had the Magic Eye spell before transforming the Champion-level Goblin, he could have turned it into a second-tier Goblin without any side effects, instead of it being reduced to a first-tier due to magical backlash.
Unfortunately, it's too late to reverse the damage. He doesn't have the means to remove the magical backlash from the Champion-level Goblin. After all, he only has a meditation technique and one spell, not a complete mage's legacy.
For example, the Bloodthirsty Warrior Training Manual contains a complete legacy, covering everything from training, breathing, diet, to magic, combat techniques, and equipment. Even without becoming a Bloodthirsty Warrior, one can still become a regular warrior through this training.
This is what a complete legacy looks like. Whether as a scholar or a mage, he lacks the corresponding legacy, making him a half-trained individual. The same likely applies to other lords who have undergone similar job changes. Without self-study, they can only rely on The Lord's Era.
Closing the Bloodthirsty Warrior Training Manual, Qin Muye had memorized all its contents. Next, he would make the Warrior job change voucher work as it should, transforming the Champion-level Goblin into a hero unit.
