While Moon wasn’t paying attention, Lu HaiKong stealthily tore a piece of the dry bread from the bandit’s body and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing furiously as he asked, "What’s next? Are we still fighting?"
As a bandit who had been in the bandit camp for over a week, Lu HaiKong believed he was more familiar with the internal forces of the camp than Moon.
Although they had successfully taken down all the bandits at the outer perimeter, the bandit camp wasn’t that easy to infiltrate. Just the guards at the camp gate were more than enough to make it difficult for Moon, who was already struggling, to break in.
"Of course we fight! Why wouldn’t we?" Moon’s face was flushed with excitement, her resolve unwavering.
"Fight? With what? There are at least fifty bandits guarding the camp gate, and at least one archery squad on the high ground. We can’t break through that level of defense with just the two of us, right?" Lu HaiKong finally managed to swallow the dry bread and turned to give Moon a scornful look.
"Who said we have to fight our way in? Look around; there should be some bandit clothes nearby. If we wear bandit clothes, we can just waltz right in. Then, all we need to do is take out the bandit chief."
It seemed Moon had done this before. Seeing her confidence, Lu HaiKong started searching the area and indeed found a pile of bandit clothes in a corner of the forest. There was also a wooden treasure chest, which contained another copy of the Basic Swordsmanship manual. Lu HaiKong tucked it into his chest; Moon didn’t seem to want it.
After finding the bandit clothes, they quickly changed into them and sat down to rest for a moment. Then, with a wave of her hand, Moon led the small team of bandit hunters directly toward the camp gate.
Surprisingly, Moon’s strategy worked. They walked in confidently, and the bandits guarding the gate didn’t even stop them, much to Lu HaiKong’s relief, who had been prepared for a major battle.
"Wow, we really got in! How did you figure that out?"
"Me? I tried it last time and it worked, saving me a lot of trouble." Moon said casually, but Lu HaiKong was stunned.
That simple statement carried a lot of weight. On the surface, it didn’t seem unusual, but if you thought about it, you’d realize just how formidable this seemingly cute and delicate girl was.
She had used this strategy without knowing if it would work, meaning she was prepared to fight fifty bandits or at least escape from their encirclement. Could you call such a girl anything but fierce?
Realizing this, Lu HaiKong subtly observed her, deciding that he needed to be cautious around her in the future. He was handsome, and if she took a liking to him, his life would be over.
Of course, he was being extremely careful, fearing that she might notice and beat him up.
Under Moon’s leadership, they quickly reached the Assembly Hall of the bandit camp.
"Hey, who are you, daring to challenge Grandpa Zhang San?"
Just as Lu HaiKong and Moon entered the Assembly Hall, a loud voice rang out. It was clear that the bandit chief, Zhang San, had spotted them.
Lu HaiKong sized up the bandit chief. The man was in a combat-ready stance, holding a shiny longsword that was clearly superior to the knives of the minor bandits. He was about 1.8 meters tall, broad and muscular, exuding a formidable presence.
The system provided Lu HaiKong with even more detailed information about Zhang San.
Name: Zhang San
Occupation: Bandit Leader
Level: 05
Attributes:
Strength: 38
Politics: 5
Intelligence: 5
Command: 8
Skills:
Fundamental Swordsmanship: Level 14
Fundamental Inner Strength: Level 10
Gale Blade Technique: Level 5
Upon seeing this individual's attributes, Lu HaiKong was stunned. His attributes were completely different from his own.
It was evident that Zhang San had reached a level beyond Lu HaiKong's capabilities, as indicated by his Fundamental Swordsmanship skill, which was in the double digits. Zhang San's prowess was intimidating, and Lu HaiKong knew he stood no chance against someone of this caliber.
However, as Lu HaiKong doubted himself, Yue Er, the girl by his side, exuded absolute confidence.
Yue Er's face flushed with excitement, "It seems that with each refresh, this guy's strength indeed grows. He's much stronger than the last time we encountered him!"
"How do we fight him?" Lu HaiKong tightened his grip on the great axe and asked.
"I'll handle this guy. You guard the entrance. When the fight starts, he'll likely call for reinforcements. Just hold them off for ten minutes."
After speaking, Yue Er brandished her longsword and charged towards Zhang San, "Big guy, let me show you the difference between Level 4 and Level 5 Gale Blade Technique!"
"Hey, you impudent woman bandit, how dare you provoke Zhang San's grandpa! Die!" Zhang San roared.
As Zhang San's angry shout rang out, Yue Er and Zhang San engaged in a fierce battle. It was only then that Lu HaiKong truly understood Yue Er's capabilities.
Previously, Yue Er had been injured in a skirmish outside the bandit camp, giving Lu HaiKong the misconception that her strength wasn't much greater than his. He had thought that with some effort, he might catch up to her soon.
This notion quickly dissipated as Yue Er and Zhang San's fight unfolded.
The battle between the two was the most astounding and awe-inspiring Lu HaiKong had ever witnessed. Zhang San's Gale Blade Technique lived up to its name.
Speed, unmatched speed, was Lu HaiKong's first and only impression of Zhang San's swordsmanship.
Zhang San's blade moved so swiftly that Lu HaiKong could barely follow it with his naked eye. All he could see was a shimmering, silver-white flash of sword light. Lu HaiKong doubted he could even block a single strike.
On the other side, Yue Er, with her full power unleashed, delivered a different kind of shock to Lu HaiKong—one that struck his heart.
Even Lu HaiKong could see that in terms of sheer strength, Yue Er might not be far superior to Zhang San. However, Yue Er's wild and somewhat crazed fighting style gave her an edge, allowing her to control the flow of the battle.
Yes, Yue Er's speed couldn't match Zhang San's, but she was willing to take non-lethal injuries to trade blows with her opponent.
Her entire combat strategy revolved around relentless offense, a fearless approach that made Lu HaiKong's heart tighten. He thought to himself, this girl was no ordinary girl; she was like a mother Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Lu HaiKong had a premonition that this girl before him would become an incredibly formidable and eccentric expert, provided she survived this peculiar fighting style.
