Chapter 1195: You Can Cuss Me Out, But Don't Insult Me
Chapter 1195: You Can Cuss Me Out, But Don’t Insult Me
Kuro had always looked down on the Revolutionary Army. Their subpar skill level was secondary – they lacked acceptable education, but their core ideology was completely wrong. The more they learned, the worse they became.
How to put it… They followed a form of “Boss-ism.”
They blamed everything on certain individuals or groups. For instance, their goal wasn’t to end the World Government that only collected “protection fees,” but merely to strip world nobles of their privileges, without denying the World Government’s rule. They’d rebelled, but not entirely rebelled.
The most critical issue? They believed bloodline was crucial. Though they stood with civilians, they still insisted on selecting a benevolent King to rule the people. After overthrowing a nation, they’d still install nobles as rulers, targeting only the monarchy while ignoring the nobility altogether, thinking that eliminating the ringleader would resolve everything.
They “saved” people, but not completely.
This utterly flawed ideology led an already powerless Kuro to abandon them entirely.
When he was younger, he’d wanted to reform the world order, researching it thoroughly. He couldn’t discard the professional knowledge from his homeland – this was exactly the scenario where that expertise was meant to be applied.
But as his research deepened, Kuro realized this “professional knowledge” was practically unachievable due to its extreme danger and low success rate. After all, the Grand Line itself was filled with overwhelming power.
Coupled with the Revolutionary Army’s condition, it became a lost cause.
If he couldn’t save the world, he’d settle for self-preservation. Joining the Navy and finding a place to “phone in” his life alongside this rotten world didn’t sound so bad – at least he’d live comfortably. Ideals? In the perilous Grand Line, survival had to come first before chasing dreams.
Yet, as time passed, he realized the Grand Line’s immense power and miracles had entrenched the unshakable bloodline hierarchy. Eventually, he too became part of this rot. Feudal capitalism excelled at corruption – indulgence was surprisingly sweet once you got used to it.
But now, seeing a self-proclaimed revolutionary leader here “phoning it in,” he couldn’t help but feel furious.
This is revolution? This is rebellion?
That’s it?!
Are you even trying?!
The body slashed into pieces once again turned into a breeze, reforming Dragon’s body. Confused, Dragon asked, “Our Enemy is world nobles – that’s undeniably true. World nobles and us belong to different classes – they shouldn’t exist. Why are you so angry?”
Kuro snapped immediately, “Because you’re insulting me, damn it!”
Even if you cuss me out, I won’t mind.
But if you insult my faith – that’s unacceptable!
I may be phoning it in, but that doesn’t mean I’ve betrayed my ideals.
Worse, you didn’t just verbally insult – you directly acted to shatter my defense.
Taking a deep breath, Kuro adjusted his posture and waved at Dragon, “Forget it. Do whatever you want – we’ll stay out of each other’s way. I’ll hunt pirates, you oppose the World Government. Pretend we never met.”
After careful thought, he realized he had no right to judge. Their approach was flawed, but they at least acted. Meanwhile, he’d long abandoned his own idea.
“If you ask me about justice…”
He glanced at Dragon above, “I suggest you live in a nation for a while. Not years – even months would help. Don’t reveal your identity, don’t use military force, just live as a civilian. Observe, don’t just judge by appearances. You’ll realize not every black mark belongs to world nobles.”
“Oh?” Dragon’s eyes lit up. “Is this the benchmark of your ambition and dream?”
Kuro rolled his eyes, “Whitebeard – this is just a small suggestion from one person to another. Don’t tie everything to ‘ambition’ or ‘dream.’ Tiring, isn’t it?”
“If I get the chance…” Dragon nodded firmly, “Though I still don’t know your motives, and I can’t rule out you being an ambition-seeker, I’ll try what you suggested.”
That book still couldn’t escape Kuro’s ambition. Dragon at least knew its author had significant ties to this man and had received his insider advice. Perhaps, he’d acceptable try this approach.
Moreover, the man’s words were worth contemplating.
Enemies and class – weren’t they world nobles?
Did he consider this wrong?
Dragon didn’t press further. As a Navy Admiral, this man’s position naturally couldn’t blame world nobles. Intelligence also hinted one world noble was his close friend.
At least through this dialogue, Dragon saw a shift.
This man’s stance, though not fully supporting the Revolutionary Army, was at least amiable. Their threat level reduced.
After all, his reputation for bloodlust was renowned. Dragon once thought him akin to Akainu, but reality proved far better than expected.
“I’ll take my leave. Seems you’re about to have trouble.” Dragon said, vanishing into the wind.
Kuro watched his aura disappear, eyes wide, pointing at the sky in disbelief, “That guy actually came here just to chat? He could’ve at least asked if he needs help rescuing his son. Is the Revolutionary Army this free? Aren’t they supposed to save the world? He said I have trouble? I killed Big Mom – what more trouble could I have? Wait… that aura?”
Suddenly, he froze, turning to the fallen colossus behind him. The breathing grew steady, eyelids and fingers trembling.
“Kaido stirred! No time to talk – someone fetch all the Seastone chains! As many as you can find – bind him tightly!” Kuro barked.
“I’ll get them.” Moer instantly appeared before a group of Navy officers, teleporting them back to the Golden Lion docked at the river mouth.
The Navy naturally possessed Seastone, mostly purchased from Wano, but usable. Though Moer’s ability couldn’t touch Seastone, he could touch Navy personnel, enabling them to teleport chains. Soon, he returned with men gripping Seastone chains, swiftly binding Kaido.
“As for you…” Kuro turned to Yamato, now sitting cross-legged, placing Wolf’s Spirit Thundercloud aside to rest. “You’re interesting – why didn’t you run?”
Yamato opened his eyes, “I felt your Killing Intent. If I moved, you’d kill me. Rather than flee, I’d rather watch you. If you chase Luffy again, I’ll stop you – even at the cost of my life!”
“Heh.” Kuro pointed at the Seastone chains, “Fine. You and your father reunite – put these on yourself.”
