Chapter 1193: Going Back to Zhengzhou
1193. Chapter 1193: Going Back to Zhengzhou
Dragon King’s expression flickered through emotions—overjoyed, stunned, torn—before finally settling into reluctant determination after a dozen seconds of silence. He turned to Tenth Seat with a bittersweet gaze, his voice firm despite the sorrow in his tone:
“Momo.”
So he still refused to join the Beastmaster League.
Migala glanced at Dragon King, unsurprised by his decision. From the moment Tenth Seat demanded he abandon his leadership duties, she’d known he’d never agree.
“Steel Chief.”
Steel Treasure translated in his mind.
He actually refused… Qiao Sang’s eyes widened slightly, her perception of Dragon King shifting.
After traveling together for this long, she understood how desperately he wanted to join Tenth Seat’s ranks. His previous kindness toward her had largely stemmed from her connection to Tenth Seat’s communication methods and promises.
Yet now, faced with the chance to seize that very opportunity, he’d turned it down…
Tenth Seat stared at Dragon King and chuckled softly.
“You’re an exceptional leader. Keep managing your race well. We’ll cross paths again.”
With those words, Tenth Seat turned and stepped into the black hole—a chasm-like void—disappearing with the Beast Egg.
Migala approached Dragon King, patting his shoulder in comfort.
“Momo…”
Dragon King’s voice was heavy with gloom.
Though his decision had been deliberate, melancholy still gripped him. This might have been his only chance to join the Beastmaster League, stand beside Tenth Seat, and carve his name into legend…
“Don’t dwell on it,” Migala consoled. “Tenth Seat said you’ll meet again.”
“Momo…”
This time, Dragon King didn’t snap back at her. Instead, he waved his claws dismissively, as if stating a fact: You wouldn’t understand upper-class pleasantries since you’re so socially clueless.
Migala: “…Right.”
Qiao Sang suggested, “Since there’s nothing left here, let’s head out.”
“Ya Ya!” Fangy chirped cheerfully, her enthusiasm restored.
Li Ou Yasi’s transformation into an egg was, in her eyes, a fortunate outcome. After all, being reborn as a Beast Egg meant she could hatch again—just like Xialala.
Migala turned to Qiao Sang. “Do you have a destination in mind?”
Qiao Sang paused thoughtfully. “What about Zhengzhou? I want to check if the fire spirit vein from a century ago is still just barren land.”
“Tingting…” Tingbao muttered from Lulu’s side, his voice hesitant.
He hadn’t forgotten how scorching Zhengzhou had been.
Qiao Sang’s gaze shifted to him.
Tingbao stiffened, recalling Dragon King’s warnings, then hastily corrected himself:
“Tingting!”
He absolutely wasn’t complaining about the heat.
Sure you aren’t, Qiao Sang nodded. “I know.”
“Let’s go to Zhengzhou,” Migala decided.
Tingbao: “…Fine.”
“But let’s stop by the hotel to check out first,” Migala added.
…
Hotel Lobby
“Excuse me, guests—have you seen Number Three?” a staff member asked. “The Yuan Bing Jellyfish who served you in the suite? We can’t reach or locate her.”
Migala glanced at Pengamei.
Without a word, Pengamei’s eyes flickered blue.
The staff’s gaze dulled.
“There was never a Yuan Bing Jellyfish here, and we know nothing about a ‘Number Three,’” Pengamei stated calmly.
The staff’s expression cleared, their smile returning.
“Thank you for staying with us. May your next visit bring a wonderful experience.”

High Above the Skies – En Route to Zhengzhou
“Xunxun~” Treasure Seeker hummed eagerly, seeking Pengamei’s guidance. It hadn’t forgotten her promise to teach mind-hypnosis techniques once their tasks were done.
While it could induce dreams or extract truths, Pengamei’s ability to fully control thoughts and actions was far beyond its current skill.
“Pengpeng,” Pengamei began teaching without delay.
“Xunxun~” Treasure Seeker listened intently, then retrieved an ant from its ring to experiment.
“Now that Qiao Sang’s Bond Slots are full and we’ve met Tenth Seat, do you still want to stay with me?” Migala asked Dragon King.
She’d always known why he followed her.
“Momo.” Dragon King glanced at her, flying steadily. You’re my Beastmaster. Who else would I follow?
Migala felt an unspoken warmth. It had been ages since he’d spoken so gently.
“Won’t you return to your flock?”
“Momo.” No rush. We haven’t seen each other in ages. I’ll wait until you leave Flame Sky Star.
Migala paused.
This time, she sensed no evasion—only sincerity.
Steel Treasure translated the exchange in his mind.
Qiao Sang leaned closer, whispering: “Teacher, Dragon King seems way more polite to you now.”
So you noticed his past rudeness too… Migala sighed inwardly, redirecting the conversation.
“What’s your plan for the Sun Crystal?”
Qiao Sang mused, “I’ll wait for Senior Kang’s report. If I can’t find it, I’ll aim for the Master Challenge Cup.”
Fangy’s evolution into Imperial Tier left only the Sun Crystal needed. Until then, leaving Flame Sky Star was impossible.
Months ago, she’d obsessively gathered intel. Now, with her Brain Domain Breakthrough at 60%, Fangy’s evolution, and another familiar’s evolution pending, she qualified for the A-Class Beastmaster evaluation.
Even if winning the Master Challenge Cup was unlikely, the Sun Crystal reward made it worth trying.
Migala smiled. “My student, ever ambitious.”
Qiao Sang feigned humility. “I just don’t know other ways to get it.”
Changing topics again, Migala added, “There’s something you must do in Zhengzhou.”
“What?”
“Update Yan Jiaou’s records.” She grinned. “Actually, we shouldn’t call her Yan Jiaou anymore.”
Fangy perked her ears mid-flight.
Qiao Sang pretended to consider, “I haven’t decided on a clan name for her evolved form yet.”
“Take your time,” Migala said. “We’ve got a while before reaching Zhengzhou.”
Qiao Sang nodded, crossing her legs as if meditating—while her consciousness dove into the Beastmaster Codex.
