Emerald halos flickered, and a vortex of energy revealed black claws. Inch by inch, the armor formed, constructing the full body of the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon. The blade wings cut through space, causing ripples.
Crimson eyes scanned the battlefield. The engine roared, and a storm of data and Yusei Fudo particles danced in the air, heralding the first Synchro Summon of the Duel.

Rua: "Summoning his ace on the first turn! Crow Hogan is really something!"
"I, Crow Hogan, am always at full power!" Crow Hogan declared. "Go, Black-Winged Dragon (Armored Mode), attack 'Chaos Core'!"
Summoning the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon on the first turn was within Youxuan's expectations.
At this stage, neither Crow Hogan nor his Black-Winged Dragon were fully developed, so the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon was Crow Hogan's core ace. However, even in its early form, the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon was incredibly powerful. Back when Yu Gi first entered the Synchro era, even Youxuan himself had suffered significant losses from this card.
With 2500 Attack Power, the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon couldn't be destroyed by battle, and it dealt no battle damage to its controller. Additionally, when this card attacked an opponent's monster, it could place a "Wedge Counter" on that monster after the battle. By removing this counter, the monster's Attack and Defense would become 0 until the end of the turn.
Clearly, in terms of combat, this card was nearly invincible. No matter how high the opponent's Attack Power, it couldn't destroy the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon or deal any damage. After battling it, the opponent's monster would become defenseless, its Attack Power reduced to zero.
While in later eras, such battle immunity was not uncommon and could be countered by destroying the card, banishing it, or forcing the opponent to discard it, Youxuan was still stunned when he first saw his friend use this card. He even suspected his friend was using a fake card, as nothing seemed so scientifically impossible.
Seeing the Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon charging at him, Youxuan's face showed a hint of nostalgia.

It reminded him of the carefree days when he and his friends played cards without understanding the ban and limit lists.
However, just as the attack was about to hit, the space above Chaos Core began to warp, as if a rift in time and space had been torn open. A deep, majestic light suddenly burst forth, transforming into golden and blue apparitions.

The apparitions of the Phantom Beasts transcended reality, their forms fluid and ethereal. Thunder King Raih was the embodiment of thunder, surrounded by arcs of electricity that echoed like the reverberations of the universe.

The three opponents were instantly stunned.

Even as mere apparitions, they exuded an ancient and oppressive presence, instilling fear and reverence in everyone.
"Don't worry, they haven't appeared yet", Youxuan smiled. "This is the effect of 'Chaos Core.'
When this card is targeted for an attack or becomes the target of a card effect, you can activate this effect. Send 'Mythical Flame Emperor Uria,' 'Evil Hero The Phantom,' and 'Thunder King Raih' from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard, up to one of each."
Youxuan displayed the three unique, tri-colored monster cards and sent them to the Graveyard.
"I send the Phantom King and Thunder King, two Phantom Beasts, from my Deck to the Graveyard."
Crow Hogan regained his composure. "So the attack continues, and you will take 2500 battle damage."
"Hehe, unfortunately, no", Youxuan replied. "Chaos Core places two 'Phantom Counters' on itself after sending the Phantom Beasts to the Graveyard.
This turn, I take no battle damage. Additionally, if Chaos Core is destroyed by battle or an effect, it can remove one of its counters to negate the destruction."
The Armored Mode Black-Winged Dragon's punch stopped just half a meter from Chaos Core, unable to advance any further, and was forced back. Transparent ripples appeared in front of Chaos Core, but it remained unharmed.
Crow Hogan: "Then I'll use 'Black Feather - Small Bird of Dawn (Silke the Sky Striker)' to continue attacking 'Chaos Core'!"

The bird warrior flew in again, striking with a punch. As expected, the attack was blocked by the invisible barrier in front of Chaos Core.
Although the attack was unsuccessful, Jack Atlas nodded. "That's good, Crow Hogan. 'Chaos Core's' counters are now used up, so its substitute destruction effect is gone!"
Crow Hogan: "I place a card face-down, end turn!"
Yusei Fudo remained silent.
The Three Phantom Beasts were legendary monsters in Duel Monster history, and there should be three of them. From the effect just used, Chaos Core should be able to send all three Phantom Beasts from the Deck to the Graveyard.
However, the opponent only sent the Phantom King and Thunder King, just two cards. Yusei Fudo didn't believe that the opponent's Deck lacked the third Phantom Beast.
So, a likely possibility was...
"Everyone, be careful!"
Yusei Fudo warned.
"Goodwin probably already has one of the Phantom Beasts in his hand!"
The group gasped.
Youxuan laughed heartily.
"Indeed, Yusei Fudo, your mind is sharp. And Crow Hogan, your first turn attack was quite fierce. It seems I need to get serious as well."
Youxuan smiled slightly.
"My turn, draw."
"Activate the Magic Card 'Card Destruction,'" Youxuan said. "Both players discard their entire hand and then draw the same number of cards from their Deck."
He discarded all his cards and then drew new ones.
"Next, I activate a Cover Card", Youxuan revealed a card from his backfield. "Continuous Trap 'Tri-Barrier'!
When this card is activated, you can also activate all the same-named cards from the Graveyard." (Original card)
Tri-Barrier could activate all same-named cards from the Graveyard, and when three cards were on the field, it could negate the battle damage from one monster once per turn.
This ability to negate battle damage was somewhat weak, but the ability to quickly gather three Trap cards was clearly designed for Mythical Flame Emperor Uria.
This was one of the Traps You Bei specifically designed for the Phantom Beast Deck in GX.
"As you speculated, Yusei Fudo, yes, I have one of the Phantom Beasts in my hand."
Youxuan waved his hand, and three Trap cards in front of him seemed to emit an invisible wave.
"Now, let me show you... what the Phantom Beasts are!"
