Chapter 119: Vector Control · All-Forms Concealment
“Who the hell are you?”
In the dimly lit villa, Tian Xie and Chang She knelt on one knee, cold sweat dripping down their cheeks. Their eyes, wide with terror, locked onto the silver-haired youth lounging lazily on the sofa.
Just minutes ago, they had been brimming with confidence, ready to teach this reckless ‘fool’ a lesson—while simultaneously unleashing their prideful ability, Stellar Remains.
But every attack had struck nothing but illusion. They had only managed to injure each other in the process.
The target—Tian Dao—hadn’t even had a single thread of his clothes ruffled.
True, they weren’t high-ranking within the Hidden Star Society. But having been successfully awakened, they were now Intelligent Species—far stronger than 90% of their peers among Stellar Beasts.
Compared to a typical Stellar Envoy of their level, they were roughly equivalent to a top-tier Tier 3 Envoy.
And yet, they had been utterly powerless in Tian Dao’s hands.
How could they possibly remain calm?
Their lives now hung by a thread—entirely at Tian Dao’s whim.
Watching the two utterly broken, trembling under the weight of his All-Forms Concealment, Tian Dao’s lips curled into a playful smirk. His long fingers tapped lightly against the armrest, subtly amplifying the psychological pressure.
At the same time, it gave him time to assess the true potential of All-Forms Concealment.
Even he hadn’t expected this ability to be this effective.
[Vector Control · All-Forms Concealment]
[Effect: Distorts information within a designated area, crafting a perfect illusion capable of deceiving all five senses.]
[Evaluation: “What you see as truth… is merely the illusion I wish you to believe.” — Tian Dao Siming]
Six years of relentless refinement had brought Tian Dao’s Vector Control to its current peak.
All-Forms Concealment was but one fragment of the vast arsenal at his disposal.
Seeing Tian Xie and Chang She still frozen in place, Tian Dao grew impatient.
Snap!
A sharp clap echoed through the room.
Suddenly, both men felt a crushing weight slam onto their shoulders—psychological and physical pressure combined. The world seemed to collapse under their feet.
They dropped to their knees involuntarily, hands pressed into the floor, as if bowing before Tian Dao.
“C-can’t be… a joke,” Tian Xie muttered through clenched teeth, his pride flaring despite the agony. He strained to rise, determined to uphold the dignity of a Hidden Star Society officer and an Intelligent Species.
But no matter how hard he tried, his body refused to obey.
He remained on all fours—crawling like a dog—his eyes darting toward the silver-haired figure on the sofa, expression unreadable, lips curled in quiet amusement.
Satisfied that he’d broken them enough, Tian Dao turned his head toward the back of the sofa.
“Hey, Dannika. You’ve been searching for ten minutes. Still haven’t found it?”
There, buried in a pile of file boxes, was a green-haired little girl—her bottom sticking out, her short legs kicking wildly as she frantically pawed through the documents.
Ten minutes had passed.
And still, she hadn’t found what Tian Dao needed.
Tian Dao sighed. “Dannika… you’re not seriously telling me you overstated your literacy rate, are you? You actually can’t read?”
“N-no way!” Dannika scrambled out of the mess, her cheeks flushed red. “Tian Dao sir, don’t say that! I know tons and tons of words!”
She flung her arms wide, puffing out her chest in an exaggerated display of confidence—trying desperately to prove she was smart.
Tian Dao raised an eyebrow. Clearly unimpressed.
Seeing the girl still failing to find the file, Tian Dao finally gave up on the charade. He stood, walked over to the box, and pulled out a random document.
“Alright, genius,” he said, pointing at a line of dense, technical jargon. “Tell me how to pronounce these.”
Dannika stared at the page—words that looked like ancient runes. Her finger trembled as she pointed.
“U-um… well… the words… they used to… tell me what they meant…” she mumbled, voice barely audible.
“Huh?” Tian Dao’s sunglasses slid down his nose. He stared, stunned. “So… the words knew you… but you didn’t know the words?”
“Ehehe…” Dannika scratched her head, grinning sheepishly. That was how it had always been.
The wordless Mechanical Bible had whispered meanings directly into her mind. She’d repeated them aloud for other clergy.
So naturally, she thought she knew so many words.
Ignoring her adorable, clueless charm, Tian Dao grabbed her by the collar, lifted her off the ground, and set her aside. Then he began sifting through the files himself.
A moment later, he pulled out a folder labeled:
Hidden Star Society · Steam Branch Covert Personnel List
“Got it.”
He strode toward the two kneeling officers, stopping in front of them. He pointed at a name on the list.
“Replace this person. I’ll take their position.”
Tian Xie and Chang She exchanged a tense glance.
The identity Tian Dao had chosen was too critical to decide on their own.
Seeing their hesitation, Tian Dao spoke, voice calm but icy:
“Not interested?”
Though his tone was light, the room seemed to drop several degrees.
And nearby, the bloodstain where Xian Nv Zuo had fallen whispered a silent warning—of what happened to those who defied Tian Dao.
The moment they remained silent, Dannika—already fully committed to being Tian Dao’s number-one loyal dog—leapt forward, pointing at them like a tiny, furious general.
“You’d better accept Tian Dao sir’s request! Or else… he’ll get angry!”
She made a terrifying gesture—mimicking a monster devouring someone, her tiny hands clenching and flailing.
Tian Dao: …
Not that I asked you to add drama, Dannika. Why’d you just go full performance mode?
He turned away, expression blank.
“You have three minutes to decide. Don’t disappoint me.”
With that, he returned to the sofa and sat back, waiting.
Tian Xie remained silent—stubborn to the core.
Chang She, more pragmatic, wiped his brow and asked, “C-can we… consult our superiors first?”
Tian Dao waved a hand dismissively. “Be my guest. Oh, and you might as well tell them I’m Tian Dao Siming. I’m sure they’ll agree.”
The confidence in his voice was absolute—as if he were the master of this place, and they were the intruders.
When Chang She received the confirmation from above, his eyes widened.
On the terminal screen:
> Approval granted.
> All requests by Tian Dao sir are to be prioritized.
> Only if the request threatens to destroy the Hidden Star Society will it be denied.
The situation was clear.
Even Tian Xie—proud and unyielding—had to swallow his pride and bow.
Tian Dao smiled.
Because now he knew: Doctor had returned.
He was back in the Hidden Star Society—exactly where Tian Dao had left him years ago.
Otherwise, the Society wouldn’t have agreed so swiftly.
As to why Doctor and Tian Dao were joining the Hidden Star Society?
Simple.
The rekindling of Faint Light needed a shield—something to protect it during its vulnerable early stage.
And the Hidden Star Society, hiding in the shadows, was the perfect cover.
If anything went wrong, they could blame the Society.
If anything went right?
Then Faint Light would take all the credit.
And as for moral guilt?
Tian Dao felt none.
Yes, there were a few good people in the Hidden Star Society.
But the vast majority?
They were wolves who ate men and spat out the bones.
Using them?
Perfectly justified.
Still, to fully replace the Hidden Star Society, Tian Dao had much work ahead.
For now, he needed to bring in trusted Stellar Prodigies.
And his new role?
Simple.
The Fifth Squad Captain of the Steam Capital Stellar Envoy Association Branch.
