Nevertheless, his status as a legendary Duel King remained unchallenged.
Mutou Yugi's strength lay in himself, not in his deck. A true champion could adapt to any era. As times progressed and environments accelerated, he would adapt and accelerate with them, remaining the king of his time.
The duel continued.
"My turn, draw!"
Yūgen declared.
"Nether Dragon of the Ten Thousand Dead, attack the Tech Genus Assault Rhino!"
The Librarian was equipped with the Trap Card "Metal Armor." Yūgen remembered that this card, besides preventing the equipped monster from being destroyed by card effects, also allowed the monster to avoid destruction by battle by destroying the Metal Armor instead.
Thus, attacking the Librarian would be less effective.
Antinomy, through his red visor, looked ahead with a determined gaze.
"You've seen through the second defensive effect of Metal Armor and chose the Assault Rhino as your primary target, huh?"

The Nether Dragon of the Ten Thousand Dead's claw, trailing black lightning, was about to strike when a sonic barrier erupted from the triangular hawk. The dragon's claw was immediately deflected, and a vortex of summoning energy exploded in the air, from which a small magician flew out.

Antinomy spread his fingers and gestured toward the Tech Genus monsters on his field.

The Cyber Magician dissolved into particles of light, and the data stream formed a starry dust that enveloped the Assault Rhino. The starlight coalesced into a pillar of light.
As the light faded, a humanoid figure floated in mid-air, her ruby-red eyes opening, and her pink hair dancing in the data stream. She wielded a magic wand, and butterfly-wing-like armor unfolded behind her, with a pale blue energy barrier spreading out from her center.

A Synchro Tuner is a special type of monster that is both a Synchro Monster and a Tuner.
The new realm beyond Synchro Summoning, known as "Acceleration Synchro", hinges on "using multiple Synchro Monsters for a Synchro Summon." The key to this is the Synchro Tuner card.

In his memory, Wunder Magician's Synchro Summon effect could destroy one spell or trap card on the field. However, the anime version of Antinomy never used this effect, so it was likely added as a reinforcement in the real card game, not present in the original anime.

Antinomy drew a card.

Yūgen drew two cards.
Antinomy: "Now, as you wished, the evolution beyond Synchro Summoning!"
He sharply turned the handle of the triangular hawk, his eyes clear and focused.
"Clear Mind, Still Water!"
The triangular hawk suddenly accelerated, breaking through the air and hurtling forward.
"Level 5, Synchro Tuner, Wunder Magician!
Level 5, Synchro Monster, Hyper Librarian!
Tuning!"

"Ten stars, restrictor release! Main low-frequency boosters, all systems go!
Infinite power, now unleashed, surging toward the other side of the dimension!
Acceleration Synchro!!!"
The triangular hawk's acceleration surpassed its limits, transforming into a beam of light that shot Antinomy and his monsters toward the horizon, vanishing without a trace.
In the next moment, that beam of light appeared behind Yūgen, bringing Antinomy and his green mech back into existence.
"Come on!
Blade Blaster!!!"
