Chapter 1179
"Xialala."
Colorful Bud's Xialala glanced at the human who had spoken, then at her future self standing nearby, nodded, and chirped once to show she understood.
Turning sharply, she returned to the flowerpot she'd just emerged from, reached inside with her clawed hand, and pulled out her mobile phone, beginning to dial.
"Xunxun..."
Seeing this, the Treasure Seeker couldn't help but recall their unfinished goal. They wondered when they'd ever save up enough credits...
Phantom Beasts communicated using mobile phones too? Well, even a century later, she'd contacted the Tenth Seat using one... Qiao Sang's thoughts drifted for a moment.
"Re Li Luoka..."
Re Li Luoka stared at Colorful Bud's Xialala, lost in thought, then suddenly wiped away tears.
Noticing this, Xialala of Colorful Bud grabbed a tissue from the coffee table and handed it over.
Re Li Luoka blinked, then accepted the tissue, her gaze falling on the golden Bud around Xialala's neck. Tears spilled even faster now.
Xialala: "???"
Migala watched Colorful Bud's retreating figure, carefully suppressing her complex emotions before sitting back down.
"Do you think history can change?" she asked softly.
Qiao Sang sighed inwardly. "Teacher, you should know better than I do."
She had once believed history was malleable—after all, time travel was possible, and most of her experiences defied scientific explanation.
Yet after witnessing Adinix's Prediction, she realized that no matter the path, the outcome remained fixed.
Migala fell silent.
Truthfully, she too had come to doubt history's mutability.
Meanwhile, Colorful Bud's Xialala finished dialing, her expression serious as she chirped "Xialala" repeatedly into the call.
Using Steel Treasure's mental translation, Qiao Sang understood that Century-Ago Xialala was informing someone about the Fire Meteor's directive for humans and familiars to evacuate.
The call lasted roughly ten minutes before Colorful Bud's Xialala hung up and immediately redialed another number.
This time, it didn't connect.
"Xialala", she chirped, lowering the phone.
"Steel Chief", translated Steel Treasure mentally.
She said she couldn't reach Li Ou Yasi for now.
Qiao Sang didn't press about Li Ou Yasi yet. Instead, she asked:
"Did the Authorities agree to help evacuate the people and familiars here?"
Colorful Bud's Xialala stared at her for two seconds, then nodded decisively.
"Xialala."
Qiao Sang exhaled in relief.
"Good."
After a pause, she added:
"Please help me locate Li Ou Yasi further. If you find them, contact me."
With that, she pulled out her mobile phone to prepare sharing her contact details.
"Xialala!"
Suddenly, Colorful Bud's Xialala chirped.
"Steel Chief", translated Steel Treasure.
She said she knew another method to locate Li Ou Yasi.
Qiao Sang froze mid-gesture, her heart leaping.
Before she could ask, Colorful Bud's Xialala turned and placed her claws on one of the flowerpots.
Green light shimmered from her claws, rippling outward like waves in a pond. The flowers trembled beneath the glow before everything stilled.
"What is this?" Qiao Sang asked, puzzled.
"Xialala", chirped Xialala, indicating she was consulting plants.
"She can ask plants questions", translated Steel Treasure mentally.
Though her range was currently limited.
"Plants have consciousness too?" Qiao Sang blinked.
Migala's eyes lit up. "I've heard Xialala can briefly grant plants consciousness."
You can do something this powerful? Qiao Sang turned, staring at Xialala in shock.
"Xialala", chirped Colorful Bud's version, looking shy. "Steel Chief"—she could only sustain the ability briefly and over small areas.
"That's still impressive", Qiao Sang declared.
"Xunxun~" the Treasure Seeker nodded in agreement.
"Xialala..." Flustered by the praise, Xialala's cheeks flushed.
Colorful Bud's Xialala: "...That's not even me demonstrating it right now..."
As the green light faded, every plant in the living room began swaying gently, as if caught in a breeze.
Outside the door, weeds in the ground rift, trees lining the streets, and flowers in nearby shops all trembled in turn.
The movement spread, every green leaf and blossom rustling as though kissed by an invisible wind.
Inside the decrepit shack, Re Li Luoka continued wiping tears.
"Xialala."
Colorful Bud's Xialala returned to the kitchen, poured several glasses of water, and placed them before Qiao Sang, Migala, and Fangy.
Migala accepted hers with a startled gratitude, thanking her.
"May I ask why you're at the flower shop?" Qiao Sang casually inquired.
"Xialala", chirped the reply. She liked staying with plants, so sometimes she transformed to blend in.
"That makes sense", Qiao Sang mused. "Why did Re Li Luoka buy you? Couldn't you just leave when no one was looking?"
Re Li Luoka's tears halted abruptly.
Colorful Bud's Xialala hesitated before replying:
"Xialala. Just wait a moment longer. News will come soon. If the plants here can't find Li Ou Yasi, it means they're not in Mingzhou right now."
"Changing the subject", translated Steel Treasure mentally.
Qiao Sang smiled sincerely. "Understood. But if you hear anything about Li Ou Yasi's whereabouts, please let me know."
"Xialala", nodded the other Xialala.
"Xialala?" The present Xialala floated beside her century-ago self, chirping curiously. How did you transform just now?
She could transform too, but only by burying her head in a Bud, creating a basic, singular form. Yet Century-Ago Xialala seemed capable of becoming countless flower and plant species.
"Xialala", chirped the reply. She pointed to her Bud, then green vines sprouted, enveloping her body entirely.
When the vines receded, Colorful Bud's Xialala had become a pink flower.
The petals unfurled like arms and legs, and soon she resumed her original form.
“Xialala!”
Xialala’s eyes lit up as she began mimicking her past self from a century ago, channeling her energy.
Before long, one of her Bud extended a Vine Whip, wrapping it around her entire body. As the Bud dissipated, a yellow flower with Xialala’s face bloomed into view.
Qiao Sang chuckled, pulling out her mobile phone and activating the camera. “Time to take a photo.”
“Xialala!”
Realizing Qiao Sang’s intent, Xialala quickly shielded her face with her leafy cheeks.
She’s actually shy… Qiao Sang smiled. “Alright, I’ll stop.”
“Xialala…”
Peeking through a narrow gap between her leaves, Xialala confirmed Qiao Sang had tucked her phone away. Letting out a relieved sigh, she dropped her improvised leaf veil and shifted back to her original form.
The Colorful Bud Xialala watched her future self interact with the girl, her face softening into a smile.
Migala, observing from the side, felt an inexplicable pang of envy. She longed to engage with Xialala too, but Pengamei’s translation always seemed to disrupt the natural flow of conversation.
As thoughts flickered through her mind, the living room’s plants suddenly rustled.
“Xialala.”
The Colorful Bud Xialala’s smile faded as she called out.
They’d found Li Ou Yasi.
“Steel Chief.”
“Pengpeng.”
Steel Treasure and Pengamei translated simultaneously—one in thought, one in voice.
Already? Qiao Sang perked up, her eyes gleaming.
“Ya Ya!” Fangy’s face lit up with excitement.
“Where?” Migala asked first.
“Xialala.”
The Colorful Bud Xialala called again, signaling them to follow.
Without another word, she leapt into an empty flowerpot, transforming into an ordinary Red Bloom.
Qiao Sang hesitated. How exactly are we supposed to follow…
“Ya Ya!” Fangy blurted, as if protesting the flower’s sudden immobility.
After a brief silence, the Red Bloom shifted back into Xialala’s face, then called toward Re Li Luoka’s direction:
“Xialala.”
“Re Li…”
Re Li Luoka dabbed his eyes with a tissue before approaching the flowerpot, carefully lifting it.
The Colorful Bud Xialala’s face vanished, the plant resuming its guise as a normal Red Bloom.
“Re Li.”
Re Li Luoka called out, shifted into meichouni form, and headed for the door.
Xialala channeled her energy, transforming into Freshbloom’s shape.
Qiao Sang and Migala exchanged glances before following.
Re Li Luoka led the way in silence.
Even Xialala turned into a plant and refuses to talk… Qiao Sang mused, finally stepping forward.
“Do you even know the way?”
Re Li Luoka shot her a look, withholding his response. His disdain was clear.
But Qiao Sang noticed the subtle bend of the Red Bloom’s petals in his arms, fixed in one direction. No matter which way the wind blew, the flower never wavered. Re Li Luoka was following its guidance.
So that’s how it’s pointing… Understanding dawned on her.
“Meimei.”
Re Li Luoka’s meichouni form grumbled impatiently. Just follow already.
“Steel Chief.”
Steel Treasure’s mental voice echoed.
Seems like it really doesn’t like your news.
I noticed… Qiao Sang sighed inwardly.
…
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Qiao Sang, weary after three hours of walking, finally asked:
“Still not at Li Ou Yasi’s location yet?”
“Fangy.”
Fangy groaned, equally exasperated.
Right? When will we get there?
Re Li Luoka kept walking, silent.
Suddenly, the Red Bloom’s leaf brushed against his arm holding the pot.
“Meimei.”
Re Li Luoka grumbled again. Li Ou Yasi can move around. Of course it’s not instant.
“Steel Chief.”
Steel Treasure translated.
Qiao Sang paused before suggesting, “Maybe I should carry Xialala? I might be faster.”
You should’ve said that earlier… Migala thought.
Re Li Luoka’s expression turned mocking.
Before he could retort, the Red Bloom’s leaf tapped his arm again.
“Meimei.”
With a stiff expression, Re Li Luoka reluctantly held out the flowerpot.
Qiao Sang hesitated, then took it, realization sparking joy in her chest. She quickly called:
“Fangy!”
“Ya Ya!”
Understanding his Beastmaster’s intent, Fangy began expanding his size.
As he grew, Qiao Sang vaulted onto Fangy’s back, pulling Re Li Luoka up with her.
Fangy’s form kept enlarging, drawing stares from passersby and familiars alike. Many whipped out mobile phones to capture the spectacle. While Flame Sky Star was no stranger to massive familiars, few matched Fangy’s sheer size and presence.
Qiao Sang guided Fangy’s flight for half an hour before halting over a wide suburban field.
“Xialala!”
The Red Bloom shifted into Xialala’s face, signaling their destination.
Qiao Sang scanned the grassy expanse. Scattered across the field were pairs of Triple Bee familiars playing together.
Where is he? Her eyes swept the area, but no shadow of Li Ou Yasi appeared.
She’d seen him before—she knew what he looked like.
Turning to Teacher Mikara, she caught Migala’s shrug: I don’t see him either.
“Ya Ya!”
Fangy suddenly barked excitedly toward a group of galloping familiars nearby.
Following his gaze, Qiao Sang spotted a herd of Grass-Type and Ground-Type Dual-Type High-Class Beast Companions—Grass-Vine Bulls. Each was cloaked in green leaves, their black eyes and horns the only visible features.
Yet one surged ahead of the rest, faster than the others, its head oddly lacking the signature twin horns.
Li Ou Yasi… Though she couldn’t see his full form, Qiao Sang inexplicably felt certain it was him.
He was running joyfully with the herd, nothing like the lethargic creature she’d seen dozing in the cave.
“Xialala.”
The Colorful Bud Xialala called once more, reverting to flower form.
“Meimei!”
Re Li Luoka’s meichouni form roared suddenly.
The leading Grass Vine Ox skidded to a halt, turned, and bolted toward Fangy. The rest of the herd followed suit, charging.
Qiao Sang: “….”
Migala: “….”
Re Li Luoka: “…”
