Chapter 1177: Chaos Unleashed
Chapter 1177: Chaos Unleashed
Charlotte·Big Mom’s body was now caked in filth. Though her exterior seemed unscathed at first glance, Kuro instantly deduced her internal injuries from a single look. Otherwise…
Kuro’s gaze flicked toward the approaching figures of Law and Eustass Kid nearby. If not gravely injured, he thought, she wouldn’t have allowed Law to teleport her here.
Her current form was terrifying. White flames erupted from her eyes, surging in tandem with the inferno engulfing her body. Her disheveled hair, encased in roaring flames, whipped wildly around her. Combined with the spectral fire in her gaze, she resembled a vengeful hag.
But this wasn’t the most alarming aspect. Her body had expanded to colossal proportions—already massive, she now towered like a mountain, a veritable titan. Her presence alone seemed to summon the wails of tormented souls from the air around her.
Kuro had witnessed this form over half a year ago, but he’d never fought her in such a state. He’d fled immediately then.
“Kuro?!”
Charlotte·Big Mom spotted him first, instantly sensing danger. “Napoleon! Hera! Prometheus!”
“Yes, Mother!”
Her sword Napoleon, the homunculus Prometheus atop her head, and a new thundercloud homie on her left roared in unison. Flames and lightning surged onto Napoleon’s blade, igniting it into a massive, writhing scimitar of crackling blue fire. With one fierce slash, she cleaved at the incoming ribbons.
“Mingguang Viguo!!!”
Boom!!!
The blade struck the ribbons, unleashing a blinding flare of lightning and fire. The radiant explosion blinded all in the area, the shockwaves rippling outward in relentless pulses.
Kuro’s brow furrowed. He abandoned direct combat with Charlotte·Big Mom and vanished in a blur, darting past her toward Luffy and Zoro. The Yokai Blade glowed crimson as it arced downward for a killing strike.
“Naruto!!!”
“Wulaiguan!!!”
Two roars echoed from the sky. Kuro’s eyes narrowed as he spun, cleaving his blade upward. A spiraling water shockwave, laced with torrential currents, erupted from above—but his slash dispelled it in an instant.
From the heavens, two figures plummeted. A white-clad silhouette descended swiftly, trailing a shadowy blur. In the blink of an eye, they reached Kuro.
“Shenzu!”
Clang!
Kuro twisted his blade upward, parrying the Wolf’s Spirit Thundercloud—a clubbed weapon wielded by a sleek, ferocious werewolf.
The werewolf’s companion followed swiftly. His fist, drawn back to his waist, rocketed toward Kuro’s face.
“Fishman Karate Mystic Art!!!”
Kuro’s left hand erupted with golden electric sparks, his Unified Haki surging through it as he blocked.
Bang!!
The combined force of Yamato’s Thundercloud and the punch sent Kuro reeling backward. He soared through the air as the two figures landed. The stout Jinbei charged toward Luffy and Zoro, while his werewolf ally tilted his head back, exhaling a frigid frost breath.
“Samurai Ice Fang!!!”
Kuro’s body steadied as he soared to high altitude, his expression darkening. “One Jinbei after another! Will you too defy the Old Man?”
The stout figure was indeed Jinbei, the former Fishman Warrior. The other werewolf was Yamato.
Jinbei cradled Luffy and Zoro under each arm, retreating swiftly as he shouted, “The Old Man was always the Straw Hat Pirates’ helmsman!”
“Kuro!”
Another voice boomed from the distant Castle Tower. Lida leapt downward, landing heavily atop Klah’s transformed werewolf form, bellowing Kuro’s name.
Simultaneously, a white light flashed as Moer, Sazil, Ju Geng, Fen Ni, and a contingent of Navy forces materialized from the descending figure.
“Room!”
Law’s voice rang out as he and Eustass Kid reappeared beside Jinbei, forming a triangular defense with Yamato while retreating.
“Kaido!”
Charlotte·Big Mom, still reeling from Kuro’s silent aerial strike, spotted the unconscious Kaido and roared, “Anemii!”
The wind-manipulating Homie swirled around her, propelling her toward Kaido.
But in an instant, a blood-red slash descended. Charlotte·Big Mom’s eyes widened as she raised Napoleon to meet the Yokai Blade in a head-on clash.
Boom!!
A wave of Killing Intent and Conqueror’s Haki radiated outward, forcing both combatants to retreat. Charlotte·Big Mom crashed heavily to the ground, shouting, “Kuro! Why are you here?!”
Kuro drifted down, landing before the Navy forces. He locked eyes with Charlotte·Big Mom. “Why? You let pirates enter Wano Country. Why would you bar the Navy?”
“Mother!!”
Perospero arrived with the Charlotte Family’s remnants, while Marco led the remaining Whitebeard remnants, focusing their defense on Luffy.
“This…”
Marco’s gaze darkened as he observed Luffy’s battered form. Blue flames erupted around the Straw Hat. “He’s gravely injured.”
Behind him, Moer scratched his head, surveying the chaos. “Man, this feels like a damn party.”
The battlefield now teetered on a knife’s edge. Luffy’s Super Novas, Yamato, and Marco formed one faction. Charlotte·Big Mom and part of the Big Mom Pirates stood opposed. Kuro and his Navy contingent encircled Kaido, unwilling to relinquish their prize.
The spoils of war were too valuable to abandon.
“Moer, what were you doing earlier?” Kuro asked.
“Fighting that fishman. He kept me busy. And without roadmarks on the ground, I couldn’t move freely—only from the ship or the Castle Tower,” Moer replied, pointing at Jinbei.
“I was fighting Yamato,” Klah rumbled. “That woman’s no pushover.”
“Hm?”
Kuro glanced at Klah, noting his bloodied state but saying nothing.
Yamato’s strength rivaled even the Beasts Pirates’ upper echelon. For Klah to hold out this long was impressive.
“Mother, Golden Lion is here—we should withdraw!” Perospero urged upon reaching Charlotte·Big Mom.
“Mama Mama Mama! Kuro, you little brat, don’t think you’ve got the right to run me off! Kaido is my ally—give him back, and I’ll help you crush Luffy instead!” Charlotte·Big Mom cackled, appealing to Kuro.
“Oh? Why don’t you kill Luffy first, then we’ll talk?” Kuro replied coolly.
Charlotte·Big Mom’s face contorted. “You want to play the sly fisherman, Kuro!”
Kuro’s boot pressed onto Kaido’s unconscious form. “This prize is mine—and I won’t let it slip away.”
He couldn’t afford to. The old woman might not defeat Luffy.
Eustass Kid and Law, seemingly awakened, had held their own against her this long. Yamato and Marco, plus Jinbei—a former Warlord of the Sea—complicated things further.
To decisively crush either side would be no simple feat. Kuro needed to secure Kaido now, before time worked against him.
Kaido’s Zoan regeneration was formidable. The longer he lingered, the quicker he’d recover, making him even deadlier.
Kuro sensed it already: Kaido’s breathing was steadying. Delay further, and the Beasts Pirate emperor would awaken.
These Four Emperors weren’t easily subdued—Kaido had survived Navy capture before.
Kuro’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of Killing Intent flashing in his gaze.
