Chapter 1176
"What should we do now?" Qiao Sang asked.
Migala hesitated for a moment before replying with a single word: "Wait."
"Are we waiting for Li Ou Yasi to come here?" Qiao Sang pressed.
"Precisely", Migala said. "I remember the Fire Meteor will fall on July 17th. Today is the 10th, so we have a week left. Li Ou Yasi will definitely appear here either on the day the Fire Meteor falls or the day before. It should be easier to find her then."
She had already confirmed the timeline thoroughly.
A week… Qiao Sang pondered for a few seconds before glancing sideways at the quiet Xialala. Something clicked in her mind, and she paused, her expression growing complex.
"Will Xialala also be here when the time comes?" she asked cautiously.
Migala fell silent for a beat before nodding.
The atmosphere grew momentarily tense.
"Jiujiu?"
Suddenly, the Night Demon King, as if triggered by a keyword, snapped out of his heartbroken state and let out a confused call.
Xialala? Was it the Xialala he was thinking of?
Migala glanced at him. "The very same Xialala you're thinking of."
"Jiujiu!"
The Night Demon King's eyes lit up with excitement. With a sharp cry, he gestured that he would stay with them for the week and wanted to see Xialala too.
Xialala in her Freshbloom form blinked her eyes innocently.
"Jiujiu…"
Before the echo faded, the Night Demon King seemed to recall something else. He sighed and emitted another sound, this time more subdued.
Forget it… The Interstellar Cup was about to begin, and he needed to prepare. Training would consume much of his time. If he didn’t train, his own Beastmaster in this timeline would never stop nagging him.
Dragon King, overhearing this, hesitated briefly but ultimately said nothing. He simply took a sip of his drink, let out a cold snort, and turned away.
"Jiujiu!"
The Night Demon King brightened again as a new thought struck him. He chirped excitedly.
If they encountered Xialala, they could notify him directly or have Pengamei come fetch him.
Pengamei remained silent.
Migala paused for two seconds before replying calmly, "Alright."
"Jiujiu!"
The Night Demon King was delighted.
Suddenly, a Ghost-type Companion Beast around one meter tall, wearing a Miniaturization Band and dressed fashionably, passed by the window.
The Night Demon King’s line of sight instantly locked onto the creature. His eyes widened with admiration. Without hesitation, he grabbed a flower and swiftly flew through the window. Moments later, he stood before the stylish Ghost-type Companion Beast, offering the flower with exaggerated enthusiasm.
The fashionably dressed Companion Beast appraised him for a moment before shyly accepting the gift.
The next instant, the Night Demon King and the stylish Ghost-type Companion Beast departed together, their interactions brimming with mutual interest.
Qiao Sang cast a complex glance at Teacher Mikara.
Migala sipped her coffee calmly, seemingly unsurprised by the scene.
"Let’s find a place to stay first", Qiao Sang suggested.
"Alright", Migala agreed, then signaled for the bill.
"Hello, the total is 354 Union Coins", the waiter reported.
Migala instinctively pulled out her card and handed it over.
The waiter took the card, swiped it through the machine, and returned it with a polite smile.
"Apologies, but this card cannot be used. Would you like to try another payment method?"
Qiao Sang blinked in confusion. She had nearly forgotten—they were in a century ago. Money and cards from a century later wouldn’t work here.
Migala stiffened briefly but quickly regained her composure. She retrieved the card with a calm expression.
"I’ll settle this later."
"Of course", the waiter smiled and left.
The table’s Familiars were all rare sights even for him, including Valiant Flying Dragons and a Dragon-type Beast Companion. He had no doubt the guests could cover the bill.
Once the waiter departed, Migala promptly ordered, "Bring the Night Demon King back."
"Pengpeng!"
Pengamei chirped, then vanished into thin air.
A few seconds later, she returned with the Night Demon King in tow.
"Jiujiu!"
The Night Demon King cried out in extreme displeasure.
"You interrupted my date just to ask for money?" he shot back, his tone incredulous.
"You can have this century’s version of me repay you double when you return", Migala offered.
"Jiujiu!"
He scowled, clearly unimpressed.
Was this really about money?!
Migala considered for a moment. "After you return, this version of me can help you find a partner."
"Jiujiu…"
The Night Demon King’s expression shifted to a begrudging "That’s more like it." He pouted, barely suppressing his satisfaction, and pulled out a card.
"The password?" Migala asked.
"Jiujiu!"
"The time we bonded."
Migala paused, taken aback. She hadn’t expected the password to be that.
"Jiujiu?"
The Night Demon King let out another sound, asking if there was anything else.
"Momo", Dragon King grunted nearby, signaling it was time for him to leave.
"Jiujiu!"
The Night Demon King wasted no time. With a flash of black light, he dashed out to pursue the Ghost-type Companion Beast who had agreed to dine with him earlier.
Steel Treasure, watching all this, silently translated the exchanges in his mind.
Qiao Sang couldn’t resist asking, "I’ve seen how the Night Demon King can find partners on his own. Why does he need your help?"
Migala sighed.
"You saw it yourself—he falls for someone new every time he meets them."
She stopped there, clearly reluctant to elaborate further.
Why does Teacher Mikara always bond with such troublesome Familiars? Fangy and the others were much better behaved… Qiao Sang mused silently, deciding not to press further.
After settling the bill, they exited the café and checked into a nearby hotel.
"Bring us the largest suite", Migala strode to the front desk and requested.
"Certainly", the staff replied. "Please present your identification."
Without a word, Pengamei’s eyes glowed with Blue Light.
"You’ve already seen our valid documents", Migala stated calmly.
The staff’s expression dulled momentarily before a smile returned. He handed over the key card.
"Your room is 2019. The elevator is on the left."
"Xunxun…"
Treasure Seeker watched in awe before drifting to Pengamei’s side, lowering its voice in a pleading tone, asking if it could learn that trick.
"Pengpeng", Pengamei glanced at it. "We’ll discuss it later. Let’s focus on our mission first."
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker nodded eagerly.
They took the elevator to the 20th floor and entered the suite.
Treasure Seeker instinctively reached for its Ring, intending to pull out daily necessities and freshening-up supplies.
But after rummaging for only a few seconds, it suddenly paused, turned to its Beastmaster, and called out:
"Xunxun~"
Many essential items hadn’t been brought along. They had to go shopping.
Qiao Sang looked at Teacher Mikara, cleared her throat, and said, "We’re missing some things. We need to go out and buy them."
The unspoken message was clear—we need money.
Migala handed over the card the Night Demon King had given her, recited the password, and added a reminder:
"Buy plenty of Grass-Type Companion Beast supplies."
"Understood." Qiao Sang took the card and left the suite.
Fangy and the others, along with Xialala, instinctively followed her without hesitation.
"Yuanyuan…"
The Original Ice Jellyfish, seeing no one had assigned it a task, silently drifted to a corner of the room, radiating a chill aura.
“Tingting!”
Tingbao, who was just preparing to fly off, felt a chill aura and immediately paused mid-motion. She turned toward her Beastmaster’s retreating figure and called out once, signaling she wouldn’t continue forward.
Qiao Sang raised a hand, waving backward in acknowledgment, indicating it was fine.
With Teacher Mikara present, Tingbao staying in the room posed no concerns for Qiao Sang.
A century ago, mobile phone navigation apps and maps had long become obsolete. Qiao Sang could only wander aimlessly while scouting for shops selling what she needed.
Despite the scorching weather, Lulu’s quiet chill aura ensured Treasure Seeker and Qingbao remained full of vitality as they strolled.
Soon, Qiao Sang noticed that at some point, her surroundings had become crowded with people and familiars.
When she walked faster, everyone sped up. When she slowed, so did they.
Whether a century later or a century ago, it seemed everyone still shared the same desire to seek shade… Qiao Sang mentally sighed.
This time, however, she didn’t ask Lulu to suppress her chill aura as she had done twice before.
“Little miss, what artifact are you carrying? It’s oddly refreshing,” a plainly dressed woman approached with a smile.
Qiao Sang turned to face her.
The woman explained, “My daughter’s about to go to university. I’m trying to find a cooling artifact for her.”
She chuckled, “You seem around her age.”
Qiao Sang fell silent.
She thought of her own mother, then the impending Fire Meteor.
“It’s not an artifact,” Qiao Sang finally said after a pause. “It’s my familiar.”
“What a shame,” the woman sighed, disappointment flashing across her face. She quietly left the crowd and walked away.
Everyone had their own purposes. Though somewhat reluctant, people and their familiars peeled off one by one as the journey progressed.
The crowd around her changed constantly.
As time passed, shopping gradually wrapped up.
Suddenly, Xialala glanced toward a specific direction, seemingly drawn by a shadow.
She hesitated, wanting to call out, but noticing the surrounding crowd and familiars, she chose instead to gently tug Qiao Sang’s sleeve.
Qiao Sang looked down. Seeing Xialala’s conflicted expression, she immediately understood. She called out:
“Lulu.”
Lulu caught on instantly, retracting her chill aura within the backpack.
The air abruptly became stiflingly hot.
Shortly after, the crowd dispersed in all directions.
“What’s wrong?” Qiao Sang asked gently.
“Xiāxiā.”
Xialala pointed toward a distant figure and chirped.
Following her gaze, Qiao Sang spotted Pengamei.
What was Pengamei doing here? Wasn’t she supposed to be with Teacher Mikara in the room?
“Xūn xūn~”
Before Qiao Sang could approach, Treasure Seeker teleported beside Pengamei first, calling out.
“Pengpeng?”
Pengamei halted, puzzled, as she turned toward it.
“Xūn xūn…”
Treasure Seeker froze.
As it stood there stunned, Qiao Sang walked over and asked:
“How did you get out? Where’s Teacher? Did Tingbao and Number Three come out too?”
Pengamei offered no reply. Instead, she looked at Qiao Sang with an expression that plainly asked, Who are you? What are you talking about?
Seeing Pengamei’s reaction, Qiao Sang suddenly realized the truth.
This was Pengamei from a century ago…
Recalling how Pengamei and Teacher Mikara were practically inseparable, if Pengamei was here, then Teacher Mikara from a century ago…
Before her thoughts could fully form, a familiar voice rang out from behind:
“Who are you?”
Turning around, Qiao Sang saw the speaker was indeed Teacher Mikara.
Except this time, her sleek black hair cascaded to her waist. Wearing black sunglasses and a cap, her youthful appearance made her look like a woman in her twenties.
Well now… she’d literally run into Teacher Mikara from a century ago. Qiao Sang’s heart raced with unexpected excitement.
“Yāyā?”
Fangy glanced sideways.
Where was Tingbao?
“Xūn xūn…”
Treasure Seeker floated to Fangy’s side, whispering quietly.
“Fangy.”
Fangy’s face lit up in sudden realization. Her curiosity now turned to examining the century-old versions of Migala and Pengamei.
After a moment’s thought, Qiao Sang decided not to reveal her time-travel secret.
“I just thought you looked familiar…” she said.
Migala pushed her sunglasses down slightly, giving the girl a slow once-over before adjusting them back and smirking.
“So you recognized us, huh?”
Qiao Sang: “???”
“Want a photo or an autograph?” Migala asked.
Qiao Sang paused, then said, “A photo.”
Migala smiled. “Then take one.”
It made sense. This was during Teacher Mikara’s period before the Interstellar Cup. She’d participated in numerous international tournaments before this. It was normal for fans to ask for photos and autographs.
Pulling out her phone, Qiao Sang activated the camera function and captured the two in a single frame.
To maintain her “fan” persona, she added after the photo:
“Please do your best at the Interstellar Cup.”
Migala replied confidently, “Of course. I’ll definitely win.”
Qiao Sang: “…”
No… you’ll lose in the first round…
“I believe you’ll win too,” Qiao Sang said, putting her phone away. “Well, I won’t bother you further then.”
“Wait,” Migala said.
Qiao Sang turned back.
“Since we met by fate,” Migala smiled, showing her white teeth, “let me sign something for you too.”
Qiao Sang: “…”
Never thought Teacher Mikara from a century ago was such a character…
“But I don’t have a pen,” Qiao Sang replied.
“No problem. I brought one,” Migala said, pulling a pen from her bag. “Where should I sign?”
Qiao Sang hesitated.
Before she could answer, Migala asked, “How about your backpack?”
How I wish I could see your reaction when you see your own autograph in the future… Qiao Sang slightly turned, presenting her backpack. “Sure.”
Migala took the pen and signed swiftly.
As she wrote, Qiao Sang suddenly remembered something. “Does your Pengamei understand other species’ languages? Like Stealthy Shield’s, for example?”
“Big deal,” Migala said, putting the pen away. “Meimei, show her.”
Pengamei opened her mouth and let out a sound:
“Yīnggǒu.”
The voice was identical. Qiao Sang praised, “Amazing.”
Migala accepted the compliment with ease.
After parting ways with Teacher Mikara and Pengamei from a century ago, Qiao Sang and Fangy, along with the others, headed toward the hotel.
Though navigation was unavailable, her memory was sharp enough. Even a single walk was enough to ensure she wouldn’t get lost.
