Chapter 1175
“Momo?”
Dragon King first showed momentary shock, then seemed to understand something. He let out a nostalgic call, “Jiujiu,” as if greeting an old friend.
“Jiujiu.”
The Ghost-type Companion Beast with a white ghost face on its stomach let out an amused chirp.
You’re calling me that? Didn’t we just meet this morning?
Treasure Seeker translated the entire exchange beside them.
Qiao Sang asked after listening:
“Dragon King, you know each other?”
“Momo.”
Dragon King nodded, then began describing in a magnanimous tone.
Its name is Jiubugu.
Treasure Seeker, who didn’t know when he’d pulled out the Beast Identifier, aimed it at the creature.
Soon, a voice matching its tone rang out from the device:
[Master, you’re using me again~ This time, is it to examine someone? Jiuye Mo, Imperial Rank Ghost-type Companion Beast. Prefers appearing in eerie ruins or uninhabited areas—its home territory. When the ghost face on its belly smiles at someone, it means they’ve been targeted~ Oh my, Master, why are you—]
Before the device could finish, Treasure Seeker hastily shut it off and slipped it back into his Ring as if nothing happened.
“Jiujiu?”
Jiuye Mo looked over, scrutinizing the humans and unfamiliar familiars before chirping, Who are these people?
“Xunxun~”
Treasure Seeker translated.
It’s asking who we are.
“Hello.” Qiao Sang introduced herself. “I’m Qiao Sang, a disciple of Dragon King’s Beastmaster.”
“Jiujiu?”
“Jiujiu?”
Jiuye Mo’s previously indifferent expression instantly turned bewildered. It stared at Dragon King, making two confused calls.
My Beastmaster has a disciple? Since when? When did he even have time to take one? Wasn’t she just leaving the house this morning?
“Momo.”
Dragon King let out a meaningful chirp—That’s a long story.
After Treasure Seeker finished translating, Qiao Sang looked at Jiuye Mo and asked in surprise:
“This is Teacher Mikara’s familiar?”
She never expected to meet one of Teacher Mikara’s other familiars after traveling back a hundred years.
Jiuye Mo turned its gaze toward them.
“Tingting…”
At the same time, Tingbao stuck out its tongue, panting as if saying, So hot.
Then it poked its tail at the backpack.
Lulu poked her head out of the bag.
Jiuye Mo, who’d been about to speak, turned toward her. When it saw Lulu’s face, it instantly forgot what it meant to say. Its mouth parted slightly, stunned by her beauty.
“Jiujiu!”
Suddenly, it seemed to realize something. It transformed into a black streak across the street, grabbed some flowers placed earlier, then zipped back as a dark blur.
“Jiujiu.”
Jiuye Mo gazed at Lulu with a lovesick expression, chirping once.
It extended the bouquet toward her.
Qiao Sang: “….”
Lulu: “….”
Without a word, Lulu dove back into the backpack, radiating a frosty aura.
“Jiujiu!”
Jiuye Mo showed an anxious expression, chirping.
Why’d you go back in?
“Dragon King.” Qiao Sang shot a pleading look, calling out.
“Momo!”
Without hesitation, Dragon King yanked Jiuye Mo aside, chirping sternly—Stop harassing others.
As it spoke, an unconscious Dominant Aura seeped from its body.
“Jiujiu?”
Jiuye Mo turned, eyeing Dragon King, then chirped—Hey, you seem different somehow.
At that moment, Migala’s voice rang out from a distance:
“I just—”
His voice cut off.
“Jiujiu!”
Jiuye Mo turned, chirping.
Migala froze in place, silent.
“Jiujiu!”
Jiuye Mo chirped again.
Migala’s face stiffened. When he saw the flowers in its claws, his lips twitched. Steeling himself, he approached and said:
“Didn’t expect to see you here.”
He immediately turned to Qiao Sang to explain:
“This is my familiar, Jiuye Mo.”
“I know…” Qiao Sang replied with a complex expression.
She never imagined Teacher Mikara’s familiar could have such a personality.
“Jiujiu.”
Jiuye Mo chirped, indicating You’re just in time—when did you get a disciple? I didn’t even know!
It gestured toward the backpack.
As it prepared to speak further, Migala interrupted:
“This is a long story. Let’s find a place to sit first.”
“Jiujiu.”
Jiuye Mo had no objections.
“Okay.” Qiao Sang nodded.
…
In the café.
Migala calmly recounted the details of their time travel while sipping coffee.
“Jiujiu…”
Jiuye Mo’s expression shifted from What nonsense are you spouting? to shock and disbelief.
Once it had fully processed everything, its eyes sparkled brightly.
“Jiujiu!”
Time travel? How awesome!
Then its gaze swept over Fangy and the others.
“Jiujiu?”
Which one is the familiar who brought you back?
“She’s not here,” Migala replied.
“Jiujiu…”
Jiuye Mo showed disappointment.
“Jiujiu?”
Suddenly, it seemed to remember something. Its eyes lit up again.
“Jiujiu!”
What place did we get in the Interstellar Cup?
Migala stiffened, silent.
Dragon King scoffed coldly.
“Pengpeng.”
Pengamei chirped calmly.
Per the time travel rules, we can’t reveal too much.
Steel Treasure mentally translated the entire exchange.
Didn’t expect Pengamei to lie so effortlessly… Qiao Sang glanced at Pengamei silently.
“Jiujiu.”
Jiuye Mo accepted the explanation without suspicion. Then it focused on Lulu, suddenly pulling a single flower from its bouquet, holding it sideways in its mouth with a suave expression. It leaned in, chirping.
Your Beastmaster is my Beastmaster’s disciple—we’re practically soulmates!
“Ice Emperor.”
Lulu sipped her drink, not looking at it.
You’re not my type.
“Click.”
Jiuye Mo heard the sound of its own heart shattering.
Migala couldn’t bear to watch. He shifted his gaze to Qiao Sang, returning to the topic:
“I’ve already checked. Unless something unexpected happened, the fire crater from a hundred years later is still a commercial district now.”
Though she didn’t know the exact location of the Artifact Body, she’d synchronized coordinates with Pengamei during their Spatial Shift. As long as the geography hadn’t changed, she could deduce the location based on landmarks.
“Which commercial district?” Qiao Sang asked eagerly.
Migala paused two seconds before replying:
“This one.”
“This one…?” Qiao Sang blinked, then turned toward the window. Outside stood bustling towers, wide streets, and crowds of people and familiars walking by.
This place is the site of the fire crater…
For a moment, Qiao Sang struggled to reconcile the vibrant, lively scene before her with the desolate, scorching crater she knew from a hundred years later.
