Chapter 1174
Qiao Sang barely had time to register a blinding white light flashing before her eyes before countless streaks of white light swirled around her.
When her vision cleared, she found herself standing in a room with an interior decoration style utterly unlike the suite she'd previously occupied.
This was... a successful transmigration? Qiao Sang swept her gaze across the unfamiliar surroundings, trying to determine where exactly she'd arrived.
"Xunxun~"
"Qingqing!"
Treasure Seeker and Qingbao floated toward the window, peering outside.
"Ya Ya?"
Fangy let out an eager cry. Was this confirmation they'd returned to the era when Li Ou Yasi was still alive?
"Seems so", Qiao Sang replied uncertainly.
She still hadn't confirmed the current timeline.
Migala examined their surroundings, her outward calm belying inner excitement as she said,
"Shi Pan Te must already be gone. Let's leave this place first."
"Agreed." Qiao Sang nodded.
Before she'd even finished speaking, movement from the left caught their attention.
Qiao Sang and Migala turned in perfect synchrony, their eyes landing on a two-meter-tall, two-legged Bear Beasts emerging from what appeared to be the bathroom. Long, thick lashes framed its eyes while its yellow-furred body was modestly wrapped in a white towel.
Six eyes locked in mutual astonishment.
The towel-clad Bear Beasts stared at the sudden appearance of two humans and their entourage of familiar beasts. Its initial shock quickly gave way to a piercing scream.
"Su Su!"
"Go!" Migala's expression remained unchanged as she barked the order.
Without hesitation, Pengamei's eyes glowed blue.
In the next instant, the two women and their familiar beasts vanished from the room.
...
They reappeared beside a broad street, their forms materializing out of thin air.
"Is everyone here?" Qiao Sang asked.
"Ya Ya!"
"Xunxun~"
"Ice Emperor."
"Steel Chief."
"Qingqing."
"Xi Xia."
"Tingting..."
"Momo."
"Yuan Yuan."
Each familiar responded with their characteristic cry.
However, when the final voice sounded, Qiao Sang froze mid-breath, turning toward the source.
At the sight of Yuan Yuan – a familiar she recognized as the original Ice Jellyfish – her expression instantly morphed into stunned disbelief.
"You're here too?!"
"Yuan Yuan..."
The Ice Jellyfish tilted its head in apparent confusion, letting out a questioning hum. It seemed equally baffled by its sudden relocation.
"Xunxun!" Treasure Seeker made a knowing gesture, explaining, That Shi Pan Te fellow must've brought it along too.
Migala's face mirrored Qiao Sang's astonishment as she muttered, "Is Shi Pan Te really this unreliable?"
"Afraid so", Qiao Sang sighed. "Let's just hope it didn't misplace our destination."
She turned to Yuan Yuan, her tone apologetic. "Sorry about dragging you into this. Just stick with us for now – we'll make sure you return safely."
At that moment, the bustling sounds of the city street reached them – pedestrians chatting, familiar beasts chattering, and the rumble of passing vehicles.
"Yuan Yuan?"
The Ice Jellyfish blinked, clearly not having caught her words.
"I said", Qiao Sang raised her voice, repeating herself, "Sorry about involving you in this. Just follow us and we'll send you back safely!"
"Yuan Yuan..."
Rather than relief, the familiar let out a worried trill.
"Xunxun~" Treasure Seeker translated with a long-suffering expression. What about my salary during all this?
Qiao Sang immediately reassured it, "I'll cover any lost wages."
"Yuan Yuan!" The Ice Jellyfish visibly relaxed, nodding in satisfaction.
At that moment, Migala's expression turned grave. "We've arrived in the year of the falling meteor shower – a hundred years before our original time."
Qiao Sang blinked in surprise. "How can you tell?"
"I overheard someone mentioning the year during a phone call", Migala explained. "Looks like Shi Pan Te's haste didn't result in a misplacement."
Suddenly struck by an idea, Qiao Sang asked, "Should we head to the meteor crater first to check if Li Ou Yasi's there?"
Migala considered this briefly before replying, "That'll have to be our first move."
She pulled out her mobile phone, then hesitated. "Do you remember the crater's location a century ago? Any idea what the address would've been?"
Qiao Sang's expression spoke volumes. You're asking the wrong person.
Migala coughed. "I'll ask around." While she knew the historical records and approximate disaster zone, the specific crater coordinates from a hundred years ago had escaped her memory.
With that, she strode toward a nearby storefront, Pengamei trailing behind.
"Yuan Yuan..."
Dragon King remained behind, his gaze sweeping across the street scene and passing familiar beasts with nostalgic eyes.
This was the Mingzhou of a hundred years ago... Qiao Sang observed their surroundings. Except for the older building facades, outdated vehicle models, and slightly different clothing styles, the cityscape felt remarkably unchanged.
The scorching sun remained merciless, with most people carrying cooling devices of some sort.
Suddenly, a gruff voice bellowed from nearby:
"I don't care who you are! If you ever dare harass my Yu Cherry Peach again, I'll call the cops on you every single time I see you!"
Following the commotion, Qiao Sang spotted a broad-shouldered man in a sleeveless undershirt furiously confronting a one-meter-tall Ghost-type Companion Beast wearing a miniaturization band. The creature had pitch-black skin, gray tufts on its head, a ghostly tail, a white phantom face patterned across its belly, and pomaded hair swept back in slick fashion. A bouquet of flowers dangled from its hand as it struck an ostentatious pose.
Hiding behind the muscular man stood a majestic two-meter-tall familiar resembling a personified flower, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat adorned with cherries.
"Jiujiu!"
The Ghost-type Companion Beast protested indignantly.
"Xunxun!" Treasure Seeker helpfully mimicked the creature's tone. Call me! Call me! Why don't you call right now?! You know who my Beastmaster is?!
Yu Cherry Peach whimpered softly, translating nervously.
The broad-shouldered man sneered. "I don't care who your Beastmaster is! Let him come find me himself!"
"Jiujiu!" The Ghost-type Companion Beast shot back, its tone promising retribution.
Then, turning toward Yu Cherry Peach, its expression softened into unmistakable adoration.
"Jiujiu~"
The flower-like familiar shivered, retreating further behind its protector.
"Jiujiu~" The Ghost-type Companion Beast cooed, dramatically slamming its bouquet onto the ground before turning to leave.
As it pivoted, its gaze locked onto Dragon King.
"Jiujiu!" The creature's face lit with sudden recognition. Letting out a delighted cry, it swiftly crossed the street, gliding straight toward Dragon King.
