Chapter 1159: Electric Shocker
1164. Chapter 1159: Electric Shocker (Combined Chapters)
The mission Qiao Sang had posted was claimed? She casually tapped to check details.
The Beastmaster Center interface opened, displaying a notification:
[Respected Qiao Sang Beastmaster, the mission requesting a familiar capable of Ten Thousand Volts has been accepted by user Electric Shocker. Please keep your mobile phone accessible, as user Electric Shocker will contact you shortly.]
Electric Shocker... Qiao Sang lingered on the username for several silent seconds before setting the phone down.
"What's up?" Migala asked offhandedly.
"The mission from yesterday got taken", Qiao Sang replied.
"What mission?" Migala pressed.
"The one seeking a Ten Thousand Volts-capable familiar", Qiao Sang explained. "Tingbao's energy will hit Junior evolution limits within days, so I wanted to secure a suitable familiar beforehand."
As a mentor at the Imperial Beastmaster Academy, Migala naturally understood that Thunder Dragons required Ten Thousand Volts to evolve from Junior to Intermediate stages.
Her first thought: That fast? Even the Dragon King had taken considerable time to evolve between those stages.
Her second thought: Ah, this is Qiao Sang's beastmaster we're talking about. Makes sense.
"Tingting?"
As these thoughts flickered through her mind, Tingbao—mid-bite into a fruit—looked up with a startled expression and chirped.
Evolution?
Qiao Sang chuckled softly, murmuring an affirmative, "Mm-hmm."
"That's right. Your energy level's nearly maxed out—should happen any day now."
"Tingting!"
Tingbao's eyes gleamed with excitement as it chirped again.
"Ya Ya!"
"Xunxun~"
"Ice Emperor."
"Steel Chief."
"Qingqing."
"Xia Xia!"
Fangy and the others chimed in succession, offering congratulations.
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker's eyes shimmered with Blue Light as it psychically controlled another fruit onto Tingbao's plate, chirping happily—Eat up! Maybe you'll evolve today!
After all, a companion's strength directly reflected its master's. Though Qingbao currently couldn't become Tingbao's Little Brother, its current Little Brothers were already Steel Treasure and Liu. Steel Treasure had reached Royal Tier—no concerns there—while Liu remained at Junior stage, leaving ample room for growth. Faster evolution meant greater power for Qingbao itself.
"Tingting!"
Tingbao chirped with a you're absolutely right expression, then resumed devouring fruits with renewed vigor.
"Qingqing."
Qingbao called out while elegantly nibbling its energy meal, adding dryly that the fruit Treasure Seeker provided boosted stamina, not energy—useless for accelerating evolution.
"Xunxun..."
Treasure Seeker turned, realizing the mistake. Quickly using Psychic Control again, it substituted a fruit specifically enhancing Dragon-type Beast Companion energy onto Tingbao's plate.
The Dragon King silently watched its special-order fruit dish diminish, then resumed eating. It had no shortage of such fruits.
Migala sipped her milk, explaining, "Ten Thousand Volts enables Thunder Dragon evolution because only those with sufficient physical resilience can withstand its electric energy. Surviving the voltage triggers cellular transformation, unleashing evolution."
"Your Thunder Dragon has an S-Class Lightning Rod Trait, far surpassing ordinary Thunder Dragons in voltage tolerance. Let the familiar strike it repeatedly—the longer the better—for optimal results."
"Understood", Qiao Sang nodded.
Migala suddenly added, "If the Electric Beast is General-Class or higher, sustained voltage isn't necessary. Higher-level General-Class companions generate exponentially greater power even at equal proficiency."
Typically, evolution-accelerating Ten Thousand Volts missions sought High-Class beasts, but Qiao Sang had studied this extensively. Tingbao's S-Class Lightning Rod negated the need for advanced Electric Beasts in her mission request.
Before Qiao Sang could respond, her phone vibrated.
Seeing an unknown number, she answered on speaker.
"Diān Diān(Flash Flash)?"
"Diān Diān?"
A strange familiar's voice crackled through the speaker.
Hearing the word "electric", Qiao Sang immediately recognized the caller. She placed the phone on the table, activating speaker mode.
"Translate, please."
"Xunxun~" Treasure Seeker raised its claws, stepping forward to chirp into the phone.
"Diān Diān."
Tingbao's eyes brightened as it focused on the speaker.
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker chirped again, relaying their address.
"Diān Diān."
The speaker fell silent as the call disconnected.
"Is that the Electric Beast who accepted the mission?" Qiao Sang confirmed.
"Xunxun~" Treasure Seeker nodded affirmatively.
Exactly as I suspected. "What else did it say?" she asked.
"Xunxun~"
"Xunxun~"
Treasure Seeker chirped twice more.
It asked when to arrive and where to go. I told them both.
Qiao Sang understood the translation perfectly—the response meant as soon as possible.
Even if they came immediately, Tingbao could gain a few energy points and evolve without issues.
"Tingting."
Tingbao suppressed its excitement, now nibbling fruit after fruit—one from the left, one from the right.
Despite its youth, it understood evolution's importance.
After finishing their meals, Fangy and the others gathered at the Open Training Ground.
Qiao Sang led Qingbao to a Hollow Plains section, instructing, "Try out your newly awakened skills."
"Qingqing."
Qingbao nodded, circulating its energy.
Suddenly, its Cloud Steps Defense expanded explosively, enveloping its body like a giant cotton ball.
"Xunxun..."
A black hole materialized beside the "giant cotton ball", from which Treasure Seeker peeked out curiously, poking its claws at the fluff.
The Cloud Steps slowly shrank.
Treasure Seeker quickly ducked back into the black hole, disappearing.
Qingbao resumed its normal appearance.
This Cloud Steps Defense obstructs Qingbao's vision—Treasure Seeker touched it without notice. Visual impairment during battle is dangerous... Qiao Sang mused briefly before advising, "Try leaving the eye area exposed when activating Cloud Steps Defense."
"Qingqing."
Qingbao chirped agreement, then circulated energy again.
This time, its Cloud Steps Defense expanded several fold, completely shrouding its body.
Qiao Sang specifically checked Qingbao's former eye area—still fully covered.
The Cloud Steps contracted.
"Qingqing..."
Qingbao reverted to normal, chirping with a disappointed expression—Seems impossible.
"It's fine", Qiao Sang comforted. "Your skill just awakened at Novice Level. Mastering it this quickly is impressive. With higher proficiency, you'll manage it."
“Qingqing~”
Qingbao’s eyes curved into crescents as he nodded, seemingly comforted.
Almost immediately, he thought of something and focused inward, sensing his internal Strength.
Moments later, Qingbao puffed out his cheeks.
A ferocious Storm Blast erupted from his mouth, wild and unrelenting.
The howling storm instantly swept across most of the Open Training Ground.
The terrifying tempest forced flying beasts passing through the high skies to veer away.
The entire Arena became a chaos of flying sand and scattering stones. Qiao Sang’s body was involuntarily pushed backward by the wind, but she quickly tensed her leg Muscles, standing motionless within the Storm Blast. Only her narrowed eyes and wildly whipping hair hinted at the strain it placed on her.
“Tingting!”
Not far away, Tingbao—still munching on a fruit to stockpile energy despite a full stomach—was suddenly lifted into the air by the Storm Blast.
“Xunxun!”
Treasure Seeker teleported, pulling Tingbao to a sheltered spot untouched by the storm.
“Tingting!”
Tingbao looked down, realizing his mouth was now empty, and cried out in alarm.
“Xunxun~”
Treasure Seeker chirped, signaling him to stay calm, then extended his claws to reveal a half-eaten fruit.
“Tingting!”
Seeing this, Tingbao’s eyes lit up. He snatched the fruit with his tail, his expression softening with gratitude as he called out again.
Thank you, Leader!
“Xunxun~”
Treasure Seeker puffed his chest out proudly, letting out a satisfied call—this was exactly what a leader should do.
On the other side, the Storm Blast ceased.
Qingbao inspected his energy flow, then resumed channeling it.
The next second, a piercing wind howled, “Wuwuwu~” as dark clouds gathered overhead like a thick, ominous curtain.
Soon, the sky darkened into a suffocating gray. The Open Training Ground’s two lone trees bent sideways, their trunks arched into near-halves, trembling as if on the verge of snapping.
Then—Boom!—a thunderous crack split the heavens. A blinding yellow lightning bolt slashed across the sky, thrashing wildly.
Fangy, Lulu, and Steel Treasure, mid-training, froze and looked upward.
The biting gales made breathing difficult. Paired with the storm-choked sky and the darting lightning, even the boldest hearts quivered, urging retreat into sheltered halls.
Qiao Sang, feeling the storm’s icy bite, tilted her head to the sky. Her heartbeat quickened.
So this is the Epic Skill, Thunderstorm…
At that moment, Migala sensed the commotion from the Open Training Ground and stepped outside.
This… she frowned, gazing upward.
Then, spotting Qiao Sang’s excited expression, she shifted her gaze to Qingbao.
No way…
Could this be one of Qing Yun Nai Nai’s newly Awakened Skills?
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, the storm raged above, thunder rumbling like a war drum.
Crash!
A blinding flash illuminated the sky. Three lightning bolts struck down, their raw power obliterating everything they touched.
Then, the Storm Blast faded. The dark clouds dissipated, and calm returned to the heavens.
Was that it? Qiao Sang blinked, startled.
The storm had howled furiously, the sky had darkened, and thunder had roared—but only three lightning strikes?
She paused, suddenly understanding why Thunderstorm’s records noted poor accuracy.
With just three bolts, randomly aimed, how could its accuracy be anything but abysmal?
“Qingqing!”
Qingbao beamed, letting out a delighted call.
He could feel the immense power behind his recent attack.
Qiao Sang gathered her thoughts and smiled. “This Skill is called Thunderstorm. It’s an Ultra-Rank attack Skill—of course it’s powerful.”
She paused, adding,
“If the proficiency is high enough, more lightning will fall, and the accuracy will naturally improve.”
“Qingqing.”
Qingbao’s eyes sparkled as he listened intently, nodding vigorously.
He loved this Skill.
Epic Skill, Thunderstorm… Stay calm. Qing Yun Nai Nai is a legendary familiar. Awakening an Epic Skill at the General-Class stage makes sense. It makes sense…
Migala stood frozen, her breath shallow. She inhaled deeply, steadying herself.
“This Skill demands immense electric energy. Besides being newly Awakened, Qing Yun Nai Nai’s limited electric energy likely weakened the lightning’s power.”
Qiao Sang understood this well.
Though Qingbao possessed Thunderstorm, his records lacked an Electric Type attribute, indicating negligible energy reserves—similar to how Treasure Seeker’s Tile Split Skill didn’t grant it a Combat Type classification.
“When Thunderstorm’s proficiency increases, will Qingbao’s internal electric energy grow too?” Qiao Sang asked.
She recalled texts stating that higher Skill Proficiency in a specific attribute naturally boosted its energy reserves.
“Exactly.” Migala stepped closer. “But to unleash Thunderstorm’s peak power, it’s best to supplement electric energy through external means.”
Qiao Sang nodded. “I’ll mention this to Jacqueline Teacher when she arrives.”
As the words left her mouth, a doorbell chimed.
Her heart leapt. “Could it be Jacqueline Teacher is here already?”
Without waiting, she hurried toward the living room.
“Qingqing!”
Knowing Jacqueline was the human who crafted Energy Pills, Qingbao’s eyes brightened. He activated Wind Transformation to follow.
By then, Youzhen Cat had already opened the door.
When Qiao Sang reached the Foyer, she found a familiar outside—a creature about 80 centimeters tall, wearing a Miniaturization Band. Its body was mostly yellow, standing on two legs, with a head of hair like an explosive mess.
Electric Shocker—a General-Class Electric Beast. Known for devastating attacks, it absorbs atmospheric negative ions. Its temper is volatile; even slight provocation causes its fur to crackle with lightning.
Qiao Sang recalled its profile, hesitating slightly. “Electric Shocker?”
“Dian Dian.”
The creature nodded, stepping inside.
Youzhen Cat, seeing the visitor was familiar to the tenant, didn’t intervene. It shut the door and returned to its chores.
Qingbao showed mild disappointment at seeing Electric Shocker but kept his expression neutral.
“Dian Dian?”
Electric Shocker entered the living room, scanning the surroundings with a call—asking what the Ten Thousand Volts Skill was needed for.
“Qingqing.”
Qingbao translated helpfully.
Meanwhile, in the Open Training Ground, Fangy’s Ears twitched as he called to Tingbao:
“Ya Ya!”
The Ten Thousand Volts user has arrived.
“Tingting!”
Tingbao’s eyes lit up. He scrambled toward the living room as fast as his body allowed.
Though this was his top speed, Fangy and the others still found it agonizingly slow.
“Xunxun~”
Treasure Seeker materialized beside him, offering a call—Leader’s giving you a lift.
His eyes flashed Blue Light, and in a blink, Tingbao vanished with him.
Back in the living room, Qiao Sang, now holding Tingbao, answered Electric Shocker’s earlier question with a smile:
“I want you to use Ten Thousand Volts on it.”
Tingbao gazed at Electric Shocker, brimming with anticipation.
“Dian Dian.”
Electric Shocker glanced at Tingbao, chirping—this was a simple task.
The next moment, his body erupted in blinding lightning power.
