Chapter 1157: You Can't Escape!
"Quick, faster! Don't let Sanji reach the basement!"
After Yamato jumped down through the hole, he immediately transformed into a massive white wolf. This wasn't an ordinary beast—his head bore a Crimson-colored demon horn, and a vibrantly colored Shimenawa rope was tied around his waist. A swirling ice-blue flame-like aura encircled his shoulder, while his tail swayed like a living flame, thick and fluffy.
He wasn't just any beast.
Once she landed, she didn't immediately break through the floor. Instead, she swiftly dashed in the opposite direction, as if intimately familiar with the terrain.
From the hole above, a Shiba Inu-like monster dropped down, carrying several people on its back as it followed the white wolf.
The Navy soldiers guarding the main entrance watched helplessly as the group fled. One of them glanced at Moer, who was lounging nearby on a makeshift bed, lying on his side with one arm propping up his head and one leg bent.
"Commander Moer?" the soldier hesitated.
"Eh?"
Moer yawned lazily, glancing toward the prisoners he had brought—two siblings tightly bound in thick iron chains and shackled with Seastone Handcuffs. He shrugged. "Forget it. This is boring. I don't feel like moving."
As he finished speaking, two more figures dropped down from the hole—Klah and Lida.
The moment Klah touched the ground, he burst forward in a cloud of smoke and dust.
"Don't run away, Usopp!"
On the back of the Shiba Inu, Usopp turned around and saw them coming. His tongue froze in shock. "Eh! They're chasing us already?! Hurry, someone think of a plan! Nami! Use your unstoppable Zeus!"
"Hey!" Nami roared back. "I'm just a weak woman, you know!"
Robin nodded. "Same here. If I use my abilities now, White Whale will sense me. She can absorb others' energy."
"I'm merely a skeleton, yohoho!" Brook's jaw clicked.
Usopp: "...!"
"Unforgivable!"
He spun around, pulling out his slingshot, the Black Pocket, and aimed it at the pursuers. "Watch me, Captain Usopp! First, we need to stop their advance! Final Strike—Demon Swarm!"
Several seeds shot from his slingshot at incredible speed. They didn't target Klah’s body but the ground ahead of him. Upon impact, the seeds erupted into massive Venus Flytraps that writhed like green serpents before snapping their jaws open toward Klah and Lida.
Klah’s eyes darkened. He leapt into the air, delivering several Calm Step slashes mid-air, slicing the approaching plants to pieces.
"I told you—this won't stop me!" Klah shouted.
"Then try this—Final Strike, Bamboo Spear!"
Usopp fired another seed at the ground. This time, countless bamboo spears erupted from Klah’s path, spreading rapidly toward him.
Klah narrowed his eyes, unleashing another Calm Step. This time, the slashes lingered briefly on the bamboo spears, but only for a moment before cutting through them effortlessly.
His Calm Step could slice through steel with ease. Bamboo, though moderately sturdy, posed no real challenge.
Just as Klah shattered the last of the bamboo spears and prepared to advance, Usopp yanked his seemingly childish slingshot again, shouting, "Not done yet!"
"With attacks like that, stop messing around!" Klah growled.
Straight-line attacks were too easy to dodge, and though Usopp’s Observation Haki was impressively sharp for someone at his level, it wouldn't matter.
Klah shifted his stance, preparing to dodge at extreme speed.
But Usopp's lips curled upward. "Final Strike—Humanoid Grass!"
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a dozen tiny Ginseng Doll-like figures burst from the ground, darting forward with lightning speed to grab Klah’s limbs. The remaining humanoid grass figures lunged at Lida, but she leapt back with a powerful kick, propelling herself high into the air. The grass figures, losing their target, returned to Klah instead.
"Hehe! I planted those seeds long ago! Take this, Klah!"
Usopp pulled the slingshot back as far as it would go, launching a red, spherical seed. The seed zipped forward, sprouting thick vines that formed a massive wolf-like shape made of green grass. The red seed became the wolf’s nose, its gaping maw lunging at Klah with a roaring sound.
"Final Strike—Impact Wolf Grass!"
Lida, suspended mid-air, gasped. "A shockwave?!"
"Do it!" Usopp shouted.
Boom!
The grass wolf erupted with a massive shockwave, crashing forward with such force that the floor behind it shattered, sending debris flying.
"Awesome job, Usopp!" Nami cheered.
"Hehe", Usopp grinned, rubbing his long nose smugly. "Of course! Captain Usopp is mighty! Klah was defeated by me once before—I'll just do it again!"
Brook gasped. "That was Black Wolf Klah you defeated back in the East Blue? Incredible!"
Nami rolled her eyes. "Please. It was Luffy who beat him. You were too scared to move, and Chopper wasn’t even here."
Brook’s jaw dropped. "Eh! So it was fake?!"
Usopp shouted. "I was brave too! Anyway, I just beat him again now!"
"Not quite."
Robin’s voice cut in. She was staring ahead. "He's completely unscathed."
The shockwave had dissipated, revealing Klah untouched. Not a single thread of his clothing was torn. The only thing disturbed was the fluttering of his hooded cloak.
He lifted his head, his expression calm. "Iron Body."
Such a weak shockwave wasn't even a challenge for him.
"That guy... how is he this terrifying?!"
Usopp clutched his head, screaming for a moment before yanking his slingshot again, wildly firing more seeds.
"Final Strike—Ponytail Algae!"
"Final Strike—Skeleton Explosive Grass!"
"And this one—Final Strike Sleep Spore Grass! Fall asleep already!"
The seeds soared forward. The first exploded into a massive web of Grand Line Algae, nearly filling the entire floor and blocking Klah’s path.
Boom!
Before Klah could react, a second wave of seeds struck, detonating into a skull-shaped explosion that engulfed both Klah and Lida in smoke.
Then more seeds shot into the smoke, erupting into more clouds.
"This time, you—"
Before Usopp could finish, his pupils contracted. Instinctively, he shifted his body sideways.
Hiss!
A razor-sharp air current sliced across his cheek, sending blood flying.
"He's completely out of our league! Run faster, Komame! Make the Shiba Inu go faster!" Usopp screamed in panic.
"A-Aye aye!"
Komame tightened her grip, her voice trembling. She didn't know who these "Navy" members were, but she knew they were enemies—that was enough.
She patted the Shiba Inu, which let out a low growl and accelerated, chasing Yamato with even greater speed.
Hiss!
The smoke parted as several severed algae strands flew out. From the haze, Lida and Klah emerged.
Klah shook his hand, frowning. "Even using sleep smoke? How annoying... yet utterly useless!"
"You're still slowing us down", Lida scoffed. "Hurry up, Klah! I need to find that woman Yamato!"
Klah glanced ahead, now losing sight of his target. As he took a step forward, he suddenly paused. He crouched, picking up a drop of blood from the floor and tasting it with his tongue.
His body erupted with black fur as he transformed into a humanoid beast, his eyes wide with a gruesome light.
"They won't escape. Not a chance in hell!"
Though those dense attacks were weak in power, they had delayed him.
Being held up by Usopp for so long was humiliating—utterly, unforgivably humiliating!
