Chapter 1152: How Did You Get So Lame?
Chapter 1152: How Did You Get So Lame?
With the pirates defeated, Klah shook his hands clean and turned to Huzi, who was still staring at him with wide eyes. "Young girl, it’s over. You don’t seem scared at all", he remarked.
Huzi got to her feet and bowed deeply, laughing hysterically. "Haha! I was literally shitting myself a minute ago! I really thought I was gonna die! Thank you so much! Haha! Seriously, thank you for saving me!"
Klah frowned. "Why are you laughing?"
"Sorry, haha! It’s just… hahaha! I couldn’t help it!"
Huzi looked up at Klah, her face still split into a grin, but her eyes brimmed with urgency. "Haha! You guys seem like good people! Can you help us? Luffy, hahaha! Officer Luffy is fighting Kaido! Please, help us! There are so many Ice Demons!"
"Luffy?"
"Luffy!"
Klah’s eyes sharpened. He instinctively turned to Kuro. "Mr. Kuro?"
"Fascinating", Kuro muttered.
He stepped toward the pink-haired girl. "Smile Devil Fruit? Are you the [Laughers]?"
Huzi nodded furiously. "Hahaha! I’m the [Laughers]! My name is Huzi, or Nojiko if you prefer! Ahahaha!"
Adding an "Ah" to her name seemed to make her laugh harder. Tears that had barely subsided now streamed down her face again.
Kuro narrowed his eyes, crouched down, and patted her head. "Well then, girl. As a Navy officer, I’d gladly hunt down these Ice Demons. Lead the way."
Though he could easily track them himself with Observation Haki, who could refuse a smiling young girl?
"Haha! Follow me!"
Huzi turned and sprinted ahead in short, eager strides.
Kuro stood, chuckling. "Seems this trip wasn’t a waste after all. The combat aura out there is insane—like someone blew a dog’s brains out."
Lida sniffed the air. "Smelled it from miles away. Blood, and the combat aura of those bastards… Ugh, so strong!"
She shivered, glancing toward the towering Castle built atop the Flower Capital’s colossal tree. "So much aura… So terrifying! Kuro, have you fought these guys before?!"
This wasn’t fake power. She’d sensed multiple terrifying, mad auras clashing together. She couldn’t tell them apart, but direction mattered little.
Kuro smirked. "Let’s go see how messy their brains’ve gotten."
Thousands of troops mobilized, trailing Huzi toward the battlefield.
"Haha! We’re saved! We’re saved!"
Huzi laughed as she ran, but this time, her joy was genuine.
Those Ice Demons would be cured by the big sister.
Though she didn’t understand what “Navy” meant, anyone who could defeat pirates must be good—and powerful. The big sister could even heal Ice Demons, saving so much effort for Uncle Marco and Chopper.
She poured her full power into running, leading the white-uniformed army toward the Castle Tower.
Boom!
Marco clashed with the triplet enemies, wings flaring as he skidded backward, leaving a trail of residual energy.
"Damn it."
He inhaled sharply, his body trembling with exhaustion. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself upright.
His physical strength was nearly spent.
He’d fought Big·mom for hours at the start, then battled Kuro and Quinn, dealt with Perospero’s reinforcements, and spent ten days battling Ice Demons. He’d barely rested since the war began. Where was he supposed to find more strength? The triplets weren’t strong compared to him, but that depended on context.
They were still pests. Normally, he wouldn’t care, but now? Stalemate.
"Chopper! You done yet?!"
Marco glanced back. Chopper had to work under protection—he couldn’t let the doctor split focus between medicine and combat. The longer this dragged, the more blue flame he’d waste on Ice Demons.
"Almost! Please hold on!" Chopper shouted, eyeing the triplets. "Damn! If only we had reinforcements…"
Marco chuckled bitterly. Reinforcements? The men he brought were already fighting Big·mom’s crew. The only reason he could fight here was because Perospero had withdrawn.
As Big·mom’s eldest son, Perospero wasn’t weak—even if he lacked Katakuri’s strength. And there were still other powerful Big·mom children out there.
"Uncle Marco!"
A familiar voice rang out.
"Haha! Reinforcements are here! I brought help! We’re saved!"
Reinforcements?
Marco turned sharply, spotting Huzi—the girl who’d fled from Ice Demons moments ago—dashing back with a grin. "The Ice Demons can be saved! I found amazing backup!"
"Huzi, get to safety!" Marco snapped.
"Hey, a girl!" Basco Oliver’s eyes lit up. He turned to grab Huzi.
"What do you think you’re doing?!"
Marco’s wings flared as he shot forward.
"Gotcha!"
Nojiko and Dalmatian lunged. Exploiting Marco’s distraction, they flanked him, their Haki-laced blades sharpening.
Basco Oliver spun, his tooth-filled maw grinning grotesquely. Sleeves flared, launching two massive fireballs.
"Die, Marco!"
The fireballs swallowed Marco’s path. Trapped, his wings couldn’t dodge.
Then—whoosh!
A sudden gust roared.
Boom!
Basco Oliver froze, blood spewing from his mouth. A hand pierced his chest—hairy, clawed, dripping crimson.
The arm retracted, and Basco Oliver collapsed, revealing the scene behind him.
A half-wolf man shook blood from his claws, his fur receding into human form. Adjusting his glasses, he muttered, "Tch."
"Ahh!"
Nojiko screamed as his body crumpled, revealing a white-haired girl. She thrust her palm forward, a white aura concentrating in her palm. A shockwave blew his head clean off.
Dalmatian’s neck snapped, sending him falling backward—revealing the culprit: a lazy, curly-haired man yawning as he withdrew his fist. The swirling Haki aura faded.
These people...
"Navy?!"
Marco’s eyes widened in disbelief.
No—not just Navy!
He recognized two of them.
"White Whale and Black Wolf!"
His voice cracked as he stared at the oncoming white tide. Amid the surge, a golden glow shimmered.
Could it be…?
Marco clenched his teeth. "No way… What the hell? How did he get here?!"
"Yo, Marco."
Kuro spotted him at the same time, Navy forces trailing behind. He waved lazily. "Long time no see. How’d you get so lame, huh? Almost got caught by Big·mom’s brats! Kinda embarrassing, don’t you think?"
Marco shouted, "What the hell are you doing here, Kuro?!"
