Chapter 1151: Small Fry, Don't Block the Way
"Hahahaha, save me, Help me!"
A pink-haired young girl sprinted at full speed, her laughter still bubbling even as tears streamed down her face. Behind her, a group of demon-like frost spirits wielding madness-stained weapons gave chase, each letting out guttural growls.
Her small, underdeveloped frame couldn't match the physical strength of those behind her—creatures infected by the virus and incarnated as demons. Koza's speed slowed, her panting grew louder, and finally her steps staggered before she collapsed heavily to the ground, her hands and feet striking the earth, kicking up a small cloud of dust.
"Hahahaha, it hurts, Koza can't do it anymore!" she cried, her face a mix of smiles and obvious pain-induced tears as she glanced fearfully behind. The Ice Demons never stopped their advance. Within moments of her fall, they were already nearly upon her.
"I can't do it anymore, Father... I... I'm coming to join you", Koza murmured.
Just as one of the approaching Ice Demons raised its blade, it suddenly sensed something, froze its downward slash, and snarled fiercely toward the front as if detecting a new threat.
Koza turned, still smiling, but her eyes widened in shock. In the wide river channel ahead loomed a colossal golden warship. The vessel was so massive that Koza could swear it dwarfed Flower Capital's Shogun Castle Tower. The vast river seemed trivial compared to the ship, its sheer size filling the entire waterway with its presence. Half of the ship's massive area even extended onto the land itself.
The ship radiated golden light, drawing Koza's gaze upward, but it was so towering that she couldn't make out the upper decks. She could only see the fortress-like spires rising like pillars and the massive statue carved at the bow. It resembled a lion, yet also bore features of a dragon and a ram.
Koza didn't know what the creature was, but she could feel its majestic power.
Was this ship truly in Flower Capital's river? As the question formed in her mind, a voice boomed from the ship's lower deck.
"Ice Demon?"
Koza's eyes snapped downward, her head tilting as her grin never wavered. "Hahaha, you lot—what are you people?"
A group of white-uniformed soldiers armed with weapons stood beneath the ship. Their attire differed from Wano Country's traditional garb, being split into upper and lower sections. The leading figures wore even more refined and neat clothing than the rest, though some among them also donned wide, white hooded cloaks.
Koza's attention quickly focused on the frontmost individuals. These few figures looked distinctly different.
One wore a practical, form-fitting suit, twisting his wrists eagerly. A second figure in flowing silk robes had a silhouette so shapely that Koza envied her—eclipsing even the small purple officer's curves. There was also a woman in a familiar miko outfit with a longbow slung across her back, standing calmly. The fourth figure, with curly black hair, lounged lazily while chewing a lollipop.
Three figures stood in a triangular formation ahead of them. To the left, a man in black clothes and a white hooded cloak pushed his glasses up with his palm. To the right, a white-haired woman around Koza's age stood in overalls, a lollipop in her mouth, also cloaked in a hooded cloak. Directly before her, a man in golden attire matching the massive ship behind him stood biting a thick, cigarette-like tube, staring down at her with a calculating gaze.
Kuro glanced at Koza, then turned his gaze toward the Ice Demons behind her. He opened his mouth and spoke: "Fen Ni."
The shapely older sister stepped forward. "Done them."
She slightly curled her fingers inward, and the frost covering the demon-like beings melted away like ice, transforming into white air currents that were drawn into her palms. Soon, the Ice Demons transformed back into humans, the crimson in their eyes vanishing, their minds clearing.
A pirate from the Beasts Pirates wearing a horned helm looked at his hands in pleasant surprise, cheering, "I've been restored!"
"I'm human again! I've turned back!"
A samurai in Wano Country's traditional garb, his hair tied in a topknot, sobbed openly. "Wuwuwu, never again! I never want to become that form again, it was so terrifying!"
Fen Ni withdrew her hand, the virus-laced air currents absorbed into her grasp. She paused, then spoke in admiration. "I see! It's an acceptable virus that allows infected individuals to erupt in vitality—a virus that completely manifests its effects. This virus also contains other factors, but the most crucial aspect is this acceptable virus factor that concentrates vitality in one burst. Once infected, the vitality manifestation lasts no more than an hour. Very impressive, definitely worth researching."
She raised her hand excitedly. "Kuro Admiral, may I return to the ship to conduct research?"
Kuro exhaled a stream of smoke, looking toward the group that had returned to normal. "We're here to make arrests."
"Navy!"
The cry rang out. The Beasts Pirates pirate, still elated, spotted Kuro's group and immediately tightened his grip on his weapon. "Why is the Navy here?!"
The nearby samurai, confused, asked, "Navy? What's the Navy?"
"Our enemies! No time for questions—draw your blades and fight! Didn't you swear loyalty to the Kaido officer?!" the pirate barked.
"Understood!" The samurai tightened their grips on their katanas, eyes locked on Kuro's group. "Then we'll deal with them first!"
"Absolutely no gratitude. But then again, they're pirates", Kuro muttered. Biting his cigar calmly, he ordered, "Eliminate them."
The Navy soldiers raised their weapons in unison, ready to strike. Then Klah stepped forward, adjusting his glasses with his palm. "No need to waste time. Leave it to me."
He approached the pink-haired girl, extending his right hand with an index finger raised. He looked down at Koza. "Young girl, stay down."
"Charge!"
The pirates and samurai launched their attack. The nearest pirate, already within range, swung his katana in a cleaving slash.
"Fishman Karate!"
Crack!
The pirate's skull exploded with a single point-blank strike to the head. His expression froze mid-swing before collapsing.
Whoosh!
Klah's arm created a series of afterimages as he jabbed forward. The pirates and samurai were struck as if by invisible bullets, their vital points pierced with each wisp of afterimage. Like a machine gun's relentless barrage, it wasn't long before they all collapsed.
Klah's arm finally ceased its afterimages, extending straight and still, a wisp of smoke rising from his fingertip.
"Small fry shouldn't block Kuro Mr.'s path", Klah said calmly.
A gentle breeze stirred, making Klah's hooded cloak flutter. Koza stared dazedly at the bespectacled man above, stunned into silence.
