Chapter 1150: The Situation in Wano Country
Chapter 1150: The Situation in Wano Country
Since the alliance between the "Beast King" Kaido and "Big·mom" Charlotte Linlin, Wano Country has been locked in a tense stalemate.
This is because several Pirates opposing them have entered the country—led by Luffy, alongside Eustass Kid and Law’s coalition—who have repeatedly thrown Wano Country’s forces into chaos.
The Six Crimson Stars and Big Mom’s Children have all confronted them, but without exception, every attempt to capture them has failed, with some even ending in defeat.
Especially after one successful capture, the ambush by Admiral Golden Lion allowed them to escape, after which their influence only grew stronger. Many of Wano Country’s Samurai have joined their cause, igniting full-scale conflict across the land.
Ten days ago, Luffy led a coalition force to break through the Flower Capital, clashing violently with the Ming King of National Defense and the old woman from the newly arrived alliance. Suddenly, the entire situation became unpredictable.
The Shogun’s residence, Castle Tower in the Flower Capital, now lies in ruins, its rubble scattered across the ground. The local Residents have long since fled, leaving behind only residual combat energy and countless corpses. Most of these bodies are encased in frost, their faces twisted into demonic expressions. Even survivors bear icy frost across their bodies, resembling demons.
Yet frost is not the only affliction—their bodies also burn with azure flame, turning half their forms into something monstrous. Their eyes, half-frozen and half-enshrouded in blue flame, glow crimson or Qingming-like clarity respectively.
“Chopper! Is the Antidote ready yet?!”
In the crowd, Marco, his pineapple hairstyle unmistakable, shouted to a broad-shouldered, furry creature beside him.
The creature’s wide, stocky form—reminiscent of a brick—was a result of Chopper’s “Flexible Strength Enhancement,” making him both sturdy and agile.
“Grrr, I’m almost done! Just a little longer!” Chopper barked, not lifting his head from his work.
“Damn it, even my physical strength has limits.” Marco muttered, staring at the horde of blue-flame-wreathed victims ahead.
These weren’t just Beasts Pirates and Samurai—they were all infected by Quinn’s virus, “Ice Demon.” Once infected, the body becomes frost-covered with demon-like horns, eventually being consumed entirely by the virus.
The Ice Demons lack consciousness, driven only by slaughter. They’ve become a new species entirely. Infected individuals have just one hour left to live before death.
But Phoenix Marco’s “Regeneration Flame” could suppress this effect—at a cost. Pushing his physical strength to the limit—first against Jin (Ashura Doji), then Perospero—had drained him. Now, he had to use his blue flame to contain these victims, taxing his stamina to the extreme.
Chopper, having acquired the Antidote from Quinn, was now synthesizing it in large quantities. If successful, these infected lives might still be saved.
“Save me! I don’t want to die!”
A Beasts Pirate sobbed, half his body already frosted, the other half wrapped in blue flame. Tears streamed down his half-human face. “I don’t want to die!!”
“Don’t worry. As a doctor, even if you’re my enemy, I won’t abandon you once you call for help.” Chopper raised his head, his eyes reassuring. “But if I save you, you’ll have to help Luffy, okay?”
“Luffy? Sure! Quinn’s officers never treated us like real subordinates—I’ll help you!” The pirate nodded fervently.
“Same here!”
“And me!”
“I’ll join too! I’ve wanted to take down that arrogant Quinn for ages!”
The pirates erupted in curses.
The Beasts Pirates’ culture of “strength above all” had attracted many followers, but officers treated them as expendable. Only the powerful could wield authority in this crew.
Marco chuckled at their outbursts, glancing upward, his expression grave.
They’d been fighting for days now—it wouldn’t be much longer.
He never imagined that Luffy, once so weak during the Top War, could now match Kaido blow for blow. Victory might even be within reach.
“Hahaha—help me, hahaha!”
A sudden, panicked laugh echoed from outside.
Yes—though it was laughter, it dripped with terror.
Marco turned sharply to see a young girl in a red kimono, her pink hair trailing as she sprinted. Her face bore a happy smile, but her eyes screamed with panic.
“Eh! It’s Nojiko!”
Chopper, hearing the commotion, turned to see a group of Ice Demons chasing her into the distance.
“Nojiko! Run this way!” Chopper shouted.
At the same time, Marco’s blue-flame wings unfurled, surging toward the horde.
Boom!
A jet of flame erupted suddenly, forcing Marco to flinch—but he spread his wings, unleashing a counterwave of blue flame to block it.
A tall figure emerged, his orange hair wild, clad in a pink skin-tight suit with wide sleeves. Grinning with razor-sharp teeth, he declared, “Found you, Marco!”
The flames spewing from his wide sleeves betrayed his identity.
“Basco Oliver!”
Marco’s eyes widened. The 13th son of Big Mom, wielding flame-manipulation abilities—this was no easy foe.
And his arrival meant…
“Oh, it’s Marco.”
Behind Basco Oliver, two figures arrived swiftly, flanking him.
Both tall and imposing, one was a bearded man in a purple military uniform, wearing a chef’s tall hat and sunglasses. He smirked, slashing his blade downward. “You injured Perospero’s big brother earlier. Let’s settle this.”
The other, with silver-gray spiked hair and clad in purple nobility bow attire, gripped his sword, nodding grimly. “For Perospero’s vengeance!”
The soldier-uniformed one was Nojiko, Big Mom’s 12th son. The other was Dalmatian, the 14th.
Triplets.
Marco glanced at the fleeing Nojiko, then at the three brothers, sighing bitterly.
These three weren’t weak. Dealing with them would take time. If Chopper fought alone, he’d struggle against the trio—and Marco couldn’t leave. The blue flame’s range was limited; if he left now, Chopper would be overwhelmed by Ice Demons before the Antidote was ready.
Hold on, little girl…
